    Performance Mods/Tweaks:
    All graphics settings in this video were set to max, V-Sync was set on. You can try to fine-tune these settings a bit to get less Z-fighting (texture flickering in the distance) with the link beneath, but it didn't make a noticeable difference in my case.

    Here is the content of the 3 DXVK-files from DayL that got deleted from newer versions of iCEnhancer 3.0.
    Just paste them into a text-editor and save them with the according names including file-extensions.
    1. "Readme.txt"
    DXVK is a Direct3D9 to Vulkan layer, and many games can benefit from a performance boost by using it. Before proceeding, be sure that your GPU supports Vulkan.
    DXVK's performance boost isn't noticeable on every system but worth a try.
    Installation:
    -1.Download: github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/releases (Click on "dxvk-tar.gz")
    -2.Open the downloaded file with Winrar/7-Zip and open the x32 folder
    -3.Rename d3d9.dll from the x32 folder to dxvk.dll and put it in your GTA IV main folder
    -4.Put dxgi.dll from the x32 folder to your GTA IV main folder
    -5.Depending on your patch open up the "Patch 1.0.4.0" or "Patch 1.0.7.0, 1.0.8.0, EFLC, latest version" folder and put files from the folder ("DX9Settings.ini" and "dxvk.conf") to your GTA IV main folder
    -6.Done
    Known issues:
    -It adds slightly visible lines at edges on building models in the distance which however improves anti aliasing.
    -It could stutter at first launch. Be patient and give the game 3-5 minutes so it will get stable.

      Well, the performance was surprisingly good, but tbh if the gameplay had been 30min long instead of just 7, most likely you would've seen lots of missing/blurred textures all throughout the city because of YOUR STUPID CAR MOD THAT FUCKS EVERYTHING UP! xD
      Just kidding, the game is just poorly coded, your mod is awesome! (:

    The actual gameplay starts at 0:34. I kept the loading screens in, so that you can see that this is really the new Complete Edition (RGL-version to be precise) and not 1.0.7.0 or GTA V with a map of GTA IV or some BS like that.
    If you also have the RGL-version and you already modded the game, you should turn off your internet when you start the Launcher, so that it won't automatically update the game and disable all of the mods. You could also just keep a folder with the Vanilla-Backup that you rename to "Grand Theft Auto IV" and after the Launcher started, you can rename it to something else and then give your modded Backup-folder the name "Grand Theft Auto IV" - without ever turning the internet off. When the Launcher is already running, it doesn't care if the game files inside that folder become modded or not.
    I would recommend downgrading the game to an older version though, as some mods look better on 1.0.7.0/1.0.8.0 and 1.0.4.0 and especially if you want to use car-mods because for the Complete Edition there is still no good, long-term fix for the infamous "taxi-bug" that you get with some car-mods. I successfully downgraded the (Vanilla-)Complete Edition to 1.0.7.0 with the provided Tutorial and downgrade-files at the end of the video-description.
    All of the mods that I listed here also work on 1.0.7.0/1.0.8.0, except for "GTAIV Vanilla Fixes - Ultimate Bugfix Megamod for Complete Edition" and "2020 Complete Edition ASI Loader + ScriptHook".

      Yeah, that's because I combined the normal "handling.dat" of GTA IV with the modded car models ("vehicles.img"), because super-cars like the GTR or the Huracán drive like total *ss with the modified handling-file included in the Real Car Pack, for whatever reason. ^^
      However, some of the "normal" cars like the Futo/AE86 are modded in such a way, that they have a higher center of gravity (e.g. because of more ground clearance), which makes them more prone to tipping over with the Vanilla handling. That's why you also see the NOOSE Patriot/Hummer laying upside down at 2:44. The police AI ALWAYS flips them over for that exact reason ^^
      Since I planned to make some stunts with the super-cars in this video (VERY hard to do with modded handling, although it increases the top speed), I figured that going with the old handling and trying to prevent the Corolla from rolling over would be the best compromise (;

(: It may not look like it, but I actually thought this through quite a bit, like the route I wanted to take, the stunt-jumps I wanted to do, the cars I wanted to show, triggering the police at the correct moments etc., so that I could do a little "stress-test" with a lot of mayhem going on and at the same time show as much as possible in a reasonable amount of time.
      Took me quite a few tries to get it right and the result is still far from perfect, like the stunt-jump from Alderney to Algonquin that I completely f*cked up! ^^

    I can't find file "iCEnhancer 3.0 Natural by DayL\Optionals\DXVK config files" in my ENB installation folder, I wanna use this ENB with DXVK, which version of iCEnhancer 3.0 Natural did you install? The link you put in the description is the final version and doesn't have this DXVK config folder :/

      That is correct, thanks for pointing that out! (: I didn't even know that a final version was released by now. Apparently I've installed version 1.9 where the update logs even say "-DXVK config files added for DXVK compatibility" but I'm not sure if you can still download that one anymore, since it got overwritten by the final version at GTAinside and it isn't allowed to be uploaded anywhere else

    This is great, but for people like me who would love to just keep graphics stock just change all possible cars to period correct and real life counterpart models, with working dirt and physics, engine power just like stock game (and matching car size, no huge honda crx's etc.) - it's an impossible nightmare!

      Nah, too much work and I'm not very good at explaining things! ^^ This video was just meant as one of several private recordings for benchmarking/testing-purposes and I just put it on the internet to share it with some guy who had performance-problems, despite having installed similar mods and similar hardware and I wanted to motivate him, that you CAN actually run this game with all these mods in 4K and still get acceptable frame-rates.
      How this "one guy", that I wanted show this, turned into several thousands is beyond me... ^^

    I used your video so i can finally play a modded GTA IV without being frustrated when i spend many hours for this. One question tho, is it normal that night looks a little too dark ? You only showed daylight and even at daylight, i have a fixation on trees looking weird far from distance.

      You are actually not the first one who complains about the game being too dark. Maybe you should check out my conversation with "NoSoyAnahi" (Sort comments by date and then scroll all the way down and you'll find it) if you still have that problem, cause he was able to fix it.
      I deliberately chose daylight-conditions for this gameplay because they proved to be more graphically demanding and this was initially intended to be a stress-test only, but maybe I should have included night-gameplay as well, to show more of the features of the installed graphics mods.

    Hello! How did you get to make this game work properly with Liberty City Textures? Every time I try to install it I get the textures popping and disappearing after 5 minutes in-game, I managed to make it a little better with commandlines, but I still have the problem. I have 4GB of VRAM (GTX 1650), Ryzen 5 3400G and 16GB of RAM, which I think is more than enough to play GTA IV with mods.

      Did you install car-mods? Because usually that's the actual culprit when you have problems with missing textures after a certain amount of time! The command "-noprecache" can also cause similar problems. Your hardware should be fine, at least on 1080p but most likely even beyond that.

      @@VWUKPJQ Yeah, in my experience -noprecache caused EXACTLY the problem that you described but I think only in combination with car mods...
      Anyway, I removed that command from the video description, the possible advantage of a slightly smoother framerate is just not worth the possible disadvantage of missing textures

      What I found out recently is that NEITHER the car mods NOR the HD texture packs are causing this problem!
      MAYBE these mods make the problem slightly worse, but even that I'm not entirely sure of... ^^

    i heard that V-Sync in this game has severe issues i suggest you to use the one in you graphics control panel , also the view distance should be below 75 as the game is 32 bit therefor max memory usage is only 3Gb thats why your textures are flickering and lod switches are very slow.

      Well, you can modify the "stream.ini"-file inside the "pc"-folder to tell the game to use more than 3/4GB RAM. Now if that REALLY works, I don't know. Didn't do much for me, neither did lowering the lod and draw distance (other than making the game look more ugly). I experimented a lot with these settings to get rid of the annoying z-fighting but the only difference it ever made, was more or less blurry textures in the background. Slow texture loading and texture flickering was always present.
      As I discussed somewhere else in this comment section, the real problem most certainly lies in the VRAM-limitation, not in the limited RAM. The amount of VRAM the game can utilize is probably hard-coded into GTA IV (32bit games shouldn't have any problems whatsoever with allocating high amounts of VRAM but this poor excuse of a PC-port actually does).
      The game also "features" an inherent VRAM-leak, where more and more texture data slowly builds up in the VRAM (instead of dynamically getting replaced by new temporary data, as it should be), while you drive around the city, which results in the complete disappearance of all textures and/or crashes over time.
      This can ALWAYS be the case, whether the game is ridiculously modded or 100% Vanilla, but the time until you run out of VRAM definitely shortens significantly with higher resolutions, high-texture mods and especially with high-poly car mods like the one I used here. The infamous "taxi-bug" is actually nothing more than an expression of that stupid VRAM-limitation/leak.
      Unfortunately it seems as if there's nothing you can really do about it. With several commandline-options you can make the game think, that it can use x-amount of VRAM but it doesn't seem to make good use of it...

      @@Peter_Parker361 i have 12 gb of ram i tested myself and experienced faster texture loading when changing to 4gb in stream.ini anything above will cause lag, i found an article online that says all x32 bit programs can use only up to 4 gb of ram and x64 can use up to 16gb.
      both ram and Vram works side by side, i have onboard graphics card with 128mb of Vram and i suffer less in loading textures than you, what is interesting the issue is only in High Res moded cars and Traffic loaders, i used texture replacements for everything else, when your Vram gets full the rest of the cache will move to Ram as far as i know, hopefully when they remaster the game they add x64 support :))

      @@airshark2764 Ok, that's very interesting actually! Never thought about the possibility that graphics data could get dumped to the system memory, as soon as the game runs out of VRAM. That would certainly explain the slow texture loading.
      So did you also set all four values in stream.ini to "409600"? I always wondered why you'd have to put the amount of memory in the odd unit of 10MB instead of just MB, but that's how it was always explained to me...
      And yeah, I guess by far the biggest culprit behind the texture problems is the combination of big car mods (the car models in Real Car Pack are 5 times bigger than the stock ones after all) with the taxi bug-"fixes" (be it Traffic Load, Traffic Flow and even Ril.Budgeted that tackles the problem at its core), that sadly don't fix anything because the taxi-bug itself is actually a (very bad) "fix" for the VRAM-leak, and texture-mods don't seem to have too much of an effect, if any.
      I'm still wondering though what resolution you run the game at, because I heard that e.g. rain effects, night shadows etc. are actually scaling with the main resolution, resulting in an highly unnecessary waste of memory.
      So maybe because your graphics card is more on the lower end, you run the game at 1080p or maybe even below that and therefore don't encounter exactly the same problems as you would in 4K?
      Anyway, I'm also hoping that Rockstar Games will do this game justice in the near future with a proper PC-version that GTA IV always deserved. It doesn't have to be "DEFINITIVE" - just FINISHED and actually optimized for PC-hardware instead of >10 year old consoles! ^^

      ​@@Peter_Parker361 yes, i set 409600 to all in stream.ini, still dont know why it is 10MB based but i guess something related to the game engine itself, unless you have experience with Euphoria we will never know :)
      Ah yes ! the Vram handles the display data faster than the ram itself, thats probably why i have inconsistent framerates when looking at different objects.
      the game is not designed to handle resolutions above 1080P, im using 768P its x32 bit game remember ? running it at 4k is not an option here because the space is limited therefor compressed textures are a necessary, anything above 1080P will require a x64 program or the game engine will not sustain , GTA 4 is poorly optimised for multi core usage either, so the only solution is to buy a faster Ram or Ram overclock.
      Ah and here things can go from bad to worse, if you are using 4K Resolution !!
      then both your Vram and Ram usage will eventually be filled quickly by the limited resource usage of the game, and than the rest of the Data will be stored in Virtual memory in your Hard drive.

    When you downgraded to 1.0.7.0 did you also use the GTAIV Vanilla Fixes version that is intended for 1.0.7.0? Because the link that you provided is intended for CE version. And when I checked the page for that mod, the author mentioned that he also made for other version than CE. Maybe, if you use the correct Vanilla Fixes mod, it could permanently solve the textures problem in version other than CE?

      I just installed the newest version of dxvk (1.9.2 atm) from github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/releases and then followed the instructions inside "iCEnhancer 3.0 Natural by DayL\Optionals\DXVK config files\Readme.txt". I did that with the Complete Edition and with 1.0.7.0 and 1.0.8.0 and it worked every time without any problems whatsoever.
      I'm also not sure what you mean by "too dark". Does your game look darker after applying dxvk in addition to iCEnhancer or is it already darker with iCEnhancer alone? Because the darkness may be an intended effect of iCEnhancer, at least after sunset, but in general iCEnhancer makes the game look way brighter and more saturated than normal GTA IV, so maybe dxvk completely disabled it in your case, which CAN happen when its not correctly installed.

      ​@@kara5x Oh yeah! WAY better in fact! In my tests - with all mods enabled, everything set to max and 2160p - the frame rate gets significantly higher with the modern Vulkan API of dxvk in comparison to the old DirectX 9/10/11 (e.g. FPS of mid-60s with dxvk in situations, where mid-40s were the norm with DirectX)
      But imo the biggest advantage of dxvk is, that it renders the game with MUCH less micro stuttering, so even if you still get only 30 FPS with dxvk enabled, it will actually feel A LOT smoother than 30 FPS in combination with the choppy rendering of Vanilla GTA IV.

      Yeah, true! Didn't know that when I made this video. Every vehicle in the game has it's own dedicated line in the handling.dat that you can just easily replace with e.g. that of the Real Car Pack.
      Problem is, that the AE86 is by far not the only car of the Real Car Pack that flips over that easily, when combined with original (!) handling. The Hummer, some Audi-hatchback and the (old) S-class and a bunch of other cars have the same problem.
      I would personally recommend using the modded handling.dat (that comes with the car pack) and only replacing the lines of the supercars (Sultan RS, Infernus, Comet, Banshee etc.) with those of the original handling.dat, so that you get acceptable handling for the supercars (that behave very shitty with modded handling and also become MUCH more fragile cause the damage model is also negatively affected) and you don't flip over with all of the other cars that happen to have higher suspension in the car mod and therefore need the adjusted handling-data of the mod.

      Maybe you should try TrafficLoad if you haven't already, although it's almost the same as Traffic Flow.
      Ril.Budgeted only works on older version of GTA IV btw, so 1.0.8.0 and older.
      Unfortunately you will ALWAYS get issues with such a car mod in the long run, like missing textures and other major glitches, but the actual taxi-bug should be fixed by all of the three mods that I linked.
      Maybe you just need to try other settings in the according .ini-files, like the amount of different cars that are spawned at the same time, and then it works for you too.

      @@thugpenguin05 Missing/slow textures should mostly come down to limited VRAM. Most likely it's not your graphics card that's the problem but the game that doesn't know how to utilize modern amounts of VRAM.
      To solve that problem, I would recommend trying some combinations (or all) of the following launch-commands: -availablevidmem [VRAM of your card in Mbytes].0 -norestrictions -nomemrestrict -percentvidmem 100 -noprecache
      Be careful with -noprecache though! It makes the game load all textures on the fly instead of during the loading screens. So it should make a big difference but I can't remember if it was rather positive or negative. ^^
      If you have an Nividia-card, I would also recommend to look into this Steam-thread: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2387882370

      What do you mean by "save"? You mean as in "being able to keep them in the game without making it unplayable"? Because then the answer would unfortunately be: NO! ^^
      And that really means something, because I've invested literally DAYS in finding a solution for fixing the taxi-bug AND for fixing the texture-bugs that you get if you actually manage to fix the taxi-bug!

      Do you also have the new Complete Edition of the game? Because the ASI-Loader/Scripthook in the description is probably not downwards compatible with earlier versions of GTA IV, like 1.0.4.0/1.0.7.0/1.0.8.0

      The gun sounds are from the mod "HD IV Weapons" (gtainside.com/en/gta4/weapons/126557-hd-iv-weapons/ ) All mods are linked in the video description. Patch is 1.2.0.43 (Complete Edition) but all mods work with 1.0.7.0/1.0.8.0 (Windows Live Edition) as well

      No Asi-Loader needed for iCEnhancer. Just simple Drag&Drag of the mod-files to the installation folder. Make sure to check out the provided Readme's, as they already cover possible fixes for a lot of problems (including game crashes)

      More or less. I just kept the Vanilla-"handling.dat" instead of replacing it with the one that comes with the car pack.
      This results in MUCH better handling and WAY more "forgiving" damage models for the sport-cars (which I've used excessively in this video) but also in terribly unstable "body roll" for some of the "normal" cars like the AE86 at the beginning ^^

      Yes, everything either works on every patch ever released for the normal GTA IV and the Complete Edition or not at all. ^^
      The installation process of most mods is just a simple drag&drop into the installation folder and where it's more difficult, you usually get very detailed instructions inside a .txt from the respective modder.

      Yeah, why not? Just delete the DLC-folder inside the installation directory and you're good to go.

      Yeah, in the past I've always wondered as well, why modders don't just upload the entire installation directory of their modded game, because it would make life SO much easier for newbies! Unfortunately I had to realize at some point that it would be HIGHLY illegal to upload all of the game files (modded or not) and so it would be EXTREMELY dumb to post a link to such an upload with your personal YT-account... ^^
      And often some mods are just not compatible with certain types of hardware and if you didn't install them yourself (ideally one by one with benchmark-tests in between) then you're unable to identify AND uninstall the mods that cause problems...
      And considering the tutorial... Well, I'm just too lazy and "untalented" for that! xD
      And I also believe, that most mods are very easy and quick to download/install anyway. You don't actually need all of the mods listed in the description to make your game look WAY better! Just iCEnhancer 3.0 alone is already a HUGE upgrade in terms of graphics and dxvk is a HUGE upgrade in terms of performance!

      The one and only! :D I learned about this whole Initial D stuff fairly recently when I finally discovered Eurobeat and with it all of the associated memes ^^ It's a mere coincidence that the '86 Corolla is part of the car pack, but then again I guess it's pretty close to what Rockstar Games used as inspiration for the design of the "Futo"

      At least temporarily for a few minutes! ^^ I play without car mods now and on version 1.0.7.0 (which doesn't make a huge difference) and I still get problems with missing textures in longer play-sessions, especially when I switch between islands too fast.
      It's not really the fault of the mods though - It's the fault of the shitty programming behind this shitty PC-port... Well, still a lot better than the "Disaster Editions", I guess... xD

      @@kollerkiller8160 Well, I strongly advise against piracy of ANY sort, but IF you already bought the game and can't be helped otherwise: The keyword "Team LiL" may or may not be helpful for you in that regard (;
      But you should try to reinstall and maybe even re-download the game before even thinking about that option! And maybe you could even get the Complete Edition from the Rockstar Games-site.
      I had the old disc-version, which also didn't work, but with the CD-key I was able to download the new CE-version directly from Rockstar Games

      Not the Sultan but the Futo does indeed have very bad body-roll IF you combine the default handling(.dat) with the Real Car Pack-models, where some cars like the Futo have much higher suspensions.
      But I personally prefer that over the Real Car Pack-handling that makes sports-cars like the Sultan RS basically useless due to much higher top speeds and acceleration combined with a VERY fragile damage model...

      Nah, too lazy for that, sorry! ^^ Most of the mods are pretty easy to install - just drag & drop the modded files into the installation folder. Where it gets more complicated, you always get "Readme/Instructions.txt" from the modder inside the downloaded .zip-files
