a little late but im pretty sure the update was there beforehand... there are story mode flashpoints! open the group finder window, select the solo tab on the top and choose the flashpoint you wanna do
@@ryanfitzpatrick6999 I know but they all should be solo ready. It's even more aggravating when you do normal solo quest strings up to the final stage and then it's a 4 man .
@@ryanfitzpatrick6999 The issue is that maybe half of the flashpoints have a "story" mode but all the others only have the modes built for 4 man teams, such as Hammer Station. And now they're all adjusted to be lvl80 in veteran mode, which makes them significantly more difficult to solo.
As a returning player, I got some serious infomation overload in terms of how to experience the story, but this guide broke down all the content perfectly; much appreciated Swtorista!

My rule of thumb was for first time players, play the class story with the planet story side by side for both sides. When you start your second character, you are free to choose whether you want to do the planet story or come back to it later since the planet is the same no matter.
@@TraceguyRune As someone who is doing this rn, yes, the stories feel like they are all over the place since it's difficult to keep track of which is which, although it is relatively faster

I was the same when Rise of the Hutt Cartel was the active expansion and took around 3 months (4-6 hours of gameplay each day) for me to finish a character from creating the character to finishing Ilum.
I use this guide every time I play through the story to make sure I'm getting the absolute most out of the lore and drama they put into this game. You did really well with this, thank you. :) Now if only you didn't have to play half the campaign without kira... wait 5 years for 5 minutes of dialogue? sounds about right.

Thanks for this video as it serves as a reminder for a returning player such as myself. I remember RP'ing a Sith Warrior who was the descendant of Freedon Nadd via one of Onderon's noble families, made a whole backstory and remember in my mind coming up with every reason for why my character was doing what he was doing, how his trip to Alderaan deepened his connection to the dark side as it reminded him of his own home and made him more angry and hateful because he despises how the Republic removed Onderon's identity, but my flaw was focusing too much on getting the Freedon Nadd armor set, as it was integral to my RP because my character longed to have it in his possession as he viewed it as his birthright. Due to how broken the economy is, I spent WEEKS, even MONTHS grinding, making millions of credits only to be able to ultimately afford three parts of the armor set, and I realized after that just how burnt out I was, and stopped playing SWTOR as passionately as I once did, I took a huge break, intermittently getting on now and again, but ultimately never got back my passion that was once there. Now however, I think that passion has returned, though now I think my RP's will not be so reliant on getting a armor set. 😂🤣
Hoth is where I quit all those years ago when the game released. Just got back to swtor and I don’t plan on doing any side quests in Hoth this time around, haha.

I only completed 1 character quest back in the day and I was looking forward to seeing what I should do after that. This channel is so helpful for everything about this game. Very much appreciated guide , this! As a returning player ( a while back), who missed the release of all the expansion packs , I got utterly confused what's what. The "perk" of being able to skip contend made idiot me jump directly into KOTFE after finishing the main story on my first char (on return) - bummer.
Great overview as always :) I'd like to add that the two twin flashpoints after the second Taris/Balmorra split don't happen at the same time, and to get the cronology right, you need to do the Republic side FPs first, and the Imperial side second. It's not the biggest of deals, but some may find this important.
What's crazy to me as a returning player on and off for the last few years, is the fact that to be the correct level range so say 15 - 18 for coruscant to get to 15 you had to do all the quests on a planet. Or you could run the heroics a couple of times instead. Nowadays if I do the class story and the planet story I'm overleveled it's crazy how it's changed

Started playing again and noticed if you use the boost to 70, you can't go back and do the chapter 1-3 in for the class quests. I just did the Jedi Sage story by using a non-boosted character. Took far longer than I thought it would take. Trying Smuggler/Gunslinger now. One thing I don't like are the flashpoints which you can't do in story mode, i.e. you need a group.
Oh. Thanks for that info. I just started playing again and was wondering if I should use that Level 70 boost. Since I don't remember any of the stories, despite finishing Jedi Knight and almost finishing Trooper. Might still make one to see how it is geared. My level 65 JK and 64 Trooper feel anemic and all the gearing guides I've found are for level 80 gear.
After several years of dabbling with the game and only ever finishing it with one character, I decided to only focus on the class story, occasionally doing a flashpoint or two to catch up if I fall behind in levels. Since doing this I've finished two more character stories and managed to avoid burnout. Now more invested than ever.
Well apparently I misssed directive 7. Honnestly i think i will have to continue to play solo because doing the flashpoint between each story in the right order with pick up groups while underquipped is exposing yourself to a lot of deaths, insults and frustration. And as I play the game for exploration and story, I really hate crafting and having to grind in order to get a good enough gear.
I've finally decided to sub because I've finally returned after an 8 year absence. I want to thank you profusely for making videos like this for people like me.
Amazing, this video really helped me sort my thoughts and gives an idea of what's coming next in the story, since I recently started SWTOR & still at Coruscant part, looks like I got a long way to cross with the story :P .. thank you :)

Hmm I just started a Jedi Knight playthrough yesterday but the planet I was sent to after Coruscant is Ord Mantell and not Taris. Did you forget to add that one for the Jedi class stories? 😮

My go to strategy for deciding if I want to do the planet story or class story is based entirely off of the planets armor set and if I want the cosmetic or not. I know, awful, but fashion IS the true endgame here
I'm Doing the Story mode and main quest to level. Heroic for loot and gear and fleet for mod perks. As a solo free to play I pick slicing and whatever for the 2 selections. Stealth is what shines for me here and is so relaxing. If they had daily XP booster quests ,I'd be ok with that. Tatooine is what I'm playing for now as to give me something to do before Dune Awakening come forth.

I’m an on and off player, but my experience with MMO raids was from DCUO where I was a first time healer, and within 30 seconds everyone on my squad ran off in different directions, and I tried to run and heal but there was no tank or DPS to protect me and we all died, and someone messaged me saying I suck and should start over with a different character, and I’m like “Bruh y’all ran away, what the fuck am I supposed to do if my abilities can’t reach you?” So since then, I’ve been terrified of doing any co-op activities, so SWTOR was amazing by giving a solo experience alongside the group stuff.
When I was playing the game I would start level farming as often as I could. I want my characters to be as strong as possible before diving into the quests any further.
this might sound weird but I would like to see a side quest guide. what are the story arcs and maybe a ranking from most to least compelling. what sort of rewards to side quests give etc?

@@Swtorista Thanks for the info! I am really trying to go back and do all the quests on my main for the completionist aspect. I was an endgame pvp'er so lots of good side quest stories that I missed. I guess the other problem I am having is that it is hard to figure out where the side quests are. I know I can travel to every hub on a planet but I wish the quest markers were visible from the planetary map...they seem to show up only if in proximity. Maybe there is a way to more easily see them and I am missing it?
Hi swtorista can you get a catalogue for armor sets in each era of swtor. Maybe ingame and cartel stuff? Like for example during SOR we have "ressurected". Then kotfe "outlander" heh. Just an idea
You're not actually right about planetary arcs. It is WAY better to play planetary arc story parallel to class story, as they both take you to same locations. It is that just your main story takes you to the place once while planetary arc may lead to nearly same places twice or more.
I had no idea that fleet was so important. I am new to the game, 1 level 38 character, and haven't been back to fleet since being forced to go there. I just follow story directions to the next planet. Gonna head to fleet after work today and hopefully pick up some more story.
@Swtorista I restarted the game with Imperial agent and the story is absolutely amazing. I am now hitting the fleet between planets and have been seeing so many cool story options.

The story of flashpoints is that you are part of a strike team to go in. They weren't originally meant to be solo

Veteran FPs are very easy. I recomend do them and earn tech fragments.

I'm glad I did Jedi Knight last because it makes alot of sense to do it last and in my personal opinion it's the best story.
Worth noting that the Bounty Hunter can actually choose to go to Nar Shadaa before Balmorra, if you're a bit overleveled at the end of Dromund Kaas
Hmm I just started a Jedi Knight playthrough yesterday but the planet I was sent to after Coruscant is Ord Mantell and not Taris. Did you forget to add that one for the Jedi class stories? 😮

My go to strategy for deciding if I want to do the planet story or class story is based entirely off of the planets armor set and if I want the cosmetic or not.
I know, awful, but fashion IS the true endgame here

I'm Doing the Story mode and main quest to level. Heroic for loot and gear and fleet for mod perks. As a solo free to play I pick slicing and whatever for the 2 selections. Stealth is what shines for me here and is so relaxing. If they had daily XP booster quests ,I'd be ok with that. Tatooine is what I'm playing for now as to give me something to do before Dune Awakening come forth.

I’m an on and off player, but my experience with MMO raids was from DCUO where I was a first time healer, and within 30 seconds everyone on my squad ran off in different directions, and I tried to run and heal but there was no tank or DPS to protect me and we all died, and someone messaged me saying I suck and should start over with a different character, and I’m like “Bruh y’all ran away, what the fuck am I supposed to do if my abilities can’t reach you?” So since then, I’ve been terrified of doing any co-op activities, so SWTOR was amazing by giving a solo experience alongside the group stuff.

When I was playing the game I would start level farming as often as I could. I want my characters to be as strong as possible before diving into the quests any further.
I personally dont even do the planetary missions anymore, I just like to jump through the Class story

Unfortunately most pretty much only reward credits these days, or randomized armors.
@@Swtorista Thanks for the info! I am really trying to go back and do all the quests on my main for the completionist aspect. I was an endgame pvp'er so lots of good side quest stories that I missed. I guess the other problem I am having is that it is hard to figure out where the side quests are. I know I can travel to every hub on a planet but I wish the quest markers were visible from the planetary map...they seem to show up only if in proximity. Maybe there is a way to more easily see them and I am missing it?

You're not actually right about planetary arcs. It is WAY better to play planetary arc story parallel to class story, as they both take you to same locations. It is that just your main story takes you to the place once while planetary arc may lead to nearly same places twice or more.

I had no idea that fleet was so important. I am new to the game, 1 level 38 character, and haven't been back to fleet since being forced to go there. I just follow story directions to the next planet. Gonna head to fleet after work today and hopefully pick up some more story.
Yes! Sooooooooooooooo much is on the fleet! It is the "hub".
@Swtorista I restarted the game with Imperial agent and the story is absolutely amazing. I am now hitting the fleet between planets and have been seeing so many cool story options.
