Nice job and much closer to hearing that beast of a Charger tearing up the road! Can't wait to see it running and looking like it did back in the day when it was new! Keep up the great videos!
Thank you for the kind words brother, I will keep everyone up to date as we continue to make progress. We are gonna start on the grill repair work for my Charger Jezebel, then we will do Dad's grill once we have perfected the art. Yes there will be a video on teaching how to repair the plastic grills.
Thank brother, I never would have thought they would create a paint pen that would actually look like chrome. I am very happy with how they turned out.
@@ScottsSpeedShop You have a Lucky Dad !! Wish my son would of paid attention as I was restoring cars the past 45 yrs . This Roadrunner is my Last . On to other things . Take care and good luck in future . Hope we have gas to enjoy our rides , the way things are going doesn't look good
Nice job... did the same to my dash because I have a Chevy budget restoring my 68 Charger. I went a little cheaper and got the silver paint pens from a local hobby store.
I feel like we have something in common, i got mine Charger cause of my dad had a 70 Charger, and now i have mine! And i bet your dads car was a reason why you got your Charger? :). Heres a little video on my dads Charger in the 80s th-cam.com/video/Mzw3iYl7haw/w-d-xo.html
More or less you are correct, I had my 70 Charger Jezebel before Dad got his 68, but listening to the stories about his 69 he used to have made me want a Charger
Nice job, looks good on video, and really cheap compared to a new set, I only wonder if the Chrome won't stick on your hands when you touch it? Is it easy to rub the surface with some cloth when it needs to be cleaned after a while. Will it come off then? To varnish it seems a bit hard due to the small size of it. But again, nice job 👍👍
The shit really sticks on, it's all about prep work, and I spent 3 days on this little project. I have no reason to believe the chome paint will come off.
awsome work looks like you just bought it and tell us more about those paint pens where did you get them i will need to do that to my 68 Chevelle dash when the time comes
Hey Jeb I'm gonna do my dash this weekend. Same color combo as your Dad's. What brand semi gloss black did you use? Looks like you nailed it. thanks, jude
I would like to know if the plastic bezel pieces can be removed without removing the whole gauge cluster assembly. I have a 68 Charger also and would like to remove just the bezels like you have it in your video.
I can understand that, contact me here: facebook.com/JezebelCharger I will give you my personal cell and walk you through it. I could write it out but it is a long process, I would also film it, but it snowing where I live and the cold is not my friend haha, but if all else fails, I will go freeze just so that I can help you my friend. you'll be shocked how simple it really is
@@ScottsSpeedShop thanks.. AlsoI did use the chrome pen for the center Air conditioning vents.. problem was it wasnt very smooth, it left tiny bubble. I used the jumbo preen
Great video and ideas. I have a 70 Challenger that I'm going to be trying to add the R/T Gauge cluster to the car at some point in the future.
Looks like fun. I'll be detailing up my dashboard soon on a 70 Bee.

Nice job Jed! its the little details that really make her stand out man.
Thanks brother, It was quite tedious but rewarding to do.
Looks new. Did good work. Never would've thought of chrome color paint pen. Thanks!

What brand? Where did you get them
Fantastic Job !! Gonna do this on my 70 RR Thanks
Hope it turns out well for ya, Dads dash still looks just as good today, as it does in this video

once again jeb very nice job brother, can't wait to see the finished product . I know that it will be fantastic.
Thank you very much brother, it will be a beautiful transformation, piece by piece.
Now i will do this to my 70 Charger 500 :D, awesome work man! // Rickard from Sweden.
Awesome Rickard, I am excited that I may have lent some inspiration to ya, and awesome to have yet another international viewer

Hey man should put a coat of flat clear over that, I did the same thing with the chrome markers and it wipes off when its to hot! Nice work tho
I will probably look into that, I am afraid of the clear reacting badly with the paint used in the pens
Jedidiah Scott get enamel based clear and u should be fine
Great job. Where do you buy the chrome paint pins
I bought them off Amazon, just look up the name on the pens, and you'll find them

a little clear over the whole thing would probably make it last forever
nice work mate
Thanks brother
Toothbrush and isopropyl alcohol, will clean but wont damage.
Fucking A, thanks man, that would have probably cleaned the faceplates a lot better
awsome work looks like you just bought it and tell us more about those paint pens where did you get them i will need to do that to my 68 Chevelle dash when the time comes
They worked incredibly well, I bought a bundle on Amazon, just search: Molotow Liquid Chrome Marker Bundle
I used the Molotow pens on my 68 bezel too and was really amazed with their chrome effect. I think Hobby Lobby sells them too.
I really liked them and was impressed by the effect the gave
Wich size did you use? In sweden we use another metric-system :P

This has been so long ago. I honestly can't remember, but I know I used satin black
@@ScottsSpeedShop I'm gonna use SEM landau black. semi gloss is what it is. Thanks.
Cool AF. Looks great
Funny that ur dads 68
looks just like my 69 when it came out of the paint booth slotted mags and all
How about a video showing how to take out the cluster and replacing please.
Like taking a cluster apart, or taking it out of the dash of the car?

Jed, I have a 68 charger. Im redoing the gauge cluster. How do you get the long trim piece above the glove box out?
The piece above the glove box is one whole piece of trim, I just re-painted the chrome on, I might have a spare if you need one.
From behind
Thanks man!!! You just saved me some money my friend!!! Good job!
Thanks
Removing the cluster from the dash, not sure where to start.

What did you use for the White lettering!
Just model car paint
@@ScottsSpeedShop How did you apply it, pen or brush or contact paper?
@@dominicktomaino1573 the chrome was applied by pen, and the white was brushed on with an ultra fine tip brush

the lettering is supposed to be white...ha lol
Oh I know, I don't really car neither does Dad lol. Dad likes the chrome effect
