What Is "Listening First"?
In this video, we will watch Mia’s mother demonstrating "listening first" when giving a baby doll a bath. Mia’s mum will tell her what they are going to do, before they do the action together.
Mia’s mum talked about what they were going to do, for example “We’re going to pour the water in the bath”. Then they poured the water in. By explaining what you’re going to do before you do it, your child focuses on the auditory information first and then links what they hear with what they then see, building their auditory skills.
