120 000 people just for him! One of the best live concerts i've ever seen. From the same concert you must see the song 'Angels' it gives me goosebums all over, everytime I watch it!
Having a 'monkey on your back' usually means you're weighed down by a major problem. Most commonly, a drug/alcohol addiction. The phrase has been around for a long time but became common from the 60s onwards. It's featured in lots of songs. :)
Omg just found your reaction video! Ok, so my name is Judit- i was 22 then and I’m from Hungary 😆When he was asking “ where are you from “ he changed his question to what’s your name and i did’t hear it!!!!! Yes 3 nights at Knebworth was incredible!!!! 125 thousand people every night singing and dancing with him!
Yes, this was just for Robbie. He did three concerts in a row at Knebworth, in England (he’s English), & he had around 135,000 people at each concert. This was in 2003, just after his first Number One Hit song Angels in 1997, after he became a solo singer & songwriter.
There’s another Knebworth performance TH-cam video of this song and it blows this one away- the vocals- the sound quality and his performance of the song is way more tuned in!

Better said, the monkey is his addiction, the monkey is who he becomes after taking drugs. It's a common metaphor, also listen to Beth Harts 'Monkey Back'.
Jane H commenting …. Please React to Robbie Williams Angels Live at Knebworth 2003. Robbie is such a great performer & man, & is very popular throughout the world, though not in America. He recently sang a duet (Angels) with Taylor Swift at her concert in London …. Angels was written & sung by Robbie & was a major Hit worldwide.
The fucked up thing about this is that the shooter at that festival in vegas shot everyone from the mandalay bay hotel amd i think it was the 32nd floor so the one below
The monkey is a superstition of drugs.... Common you Americans hahaha. Think true it. Btw react to more of robbie at this concert. Is a amazing concert. And one of the biggest pop star's that's not famous in the USA. What is crazy by itself right? Haha but it's quality pop star / living like a rockstar
I'm not sure who recommended this one. He has a whole string of truly stellar songs but this isn't one of them. It's ok but not much more than that. I suspect it has some deeply personal meaning, or a strong associated memory, for the person who requested it. Try "Feel" from the same concert for a fantastic song and breathtaking performance. :)
Send it to me and I will definitely put it on the list. Just remember the list is long though but know that I will get you a reaction I can promise you that. The best ways to send it to me is bit.ly/RequestHXC ko-fi.com/highlycombustiblereacts I appreciate you I truly appreciate you.
You speak for silent ears Codex7777. THIS is the song that made me love RW. Not that shit, angles, feel, rock dj, she's the one or strong. THIS is real. THIS is him. Him and his struggles with drugs and depression. THIS is the thing we can relate on. Not unicorn, prince charming or peace. THIS !
@@kentericsolberg7958 - lol. I repeat... it's not a great introduction to RW, for someone who doesn't know RW. There will be some people for whom this song will resonate, for personal reasons, more than his other songs. However when introducing someone to an artist you don't start with a relatively obscure song, the favourite of a tiny minority. You start with what are commonly regarded as their best and/or most well-known songs and progress from there. YOU may see it as RW's best song but the overwhelming majority would disagree. Although the lyrics may resonate strongly with you personally, the same can be said for the lyrics of his other songs, for other people. Musically, it's pretty mediocre and lacks both the drama and emotion, musically, of some of his better known tracks.

I love this song, and I love Robbie..
Yaaaaas more RW please for another subscriber. A global superstar in his prime. Seen him live 3 times, he’s outstanding
He had problems with drugs and alcohol that’s what the song is about.
Is it me, or if this is Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas all over again, lol!!!
I saw robbie in amsterdam twice with his concerts. Best entertainer ever, it was awesome
I really love this song and the scenery suggested by the lyrics: it could be a good Quentin Tarentino movie script.
He's talking about the monkey on his back.
Never ever heard this song perform saw him once live in Amsterdam in the Arena and that was a great performance.
The monkey is his addictions spending all of his money, bad choices and everyone is enabling him because he's got the money.
love your channel m8
Thanks a lot, appreciate it.

You must do a reaction to Robbie williams singing - FEEL - live at Knebworth its AMAZING !!
I have the full concert on dvd .Great show!!!
Dude 3 sale out concerts!!! Thousands turned away!!!
Awesome. Should react to the whole knebworth show
The Monkey is a metaphor for the drugs 😢
How is that he says me and my monkey is he two persons? When he used or something, maybe stupid of me but never to late to learn.
@@dianebaven2457, absolutely not a stupid question: searched the lyrics: now think DRUGS instead of MONKEY, maybe you’ll understand better.
There was me and my monkey
And with his dungarees and rollerblades
Smoking filter tips
Reclining in the passenger seat of my supercharged jet black Chevrolet
He had the soft top down
He liked the wind in his face
He said "Son, you ever been to Vegas?"
I said "No" he said "That's where we're gonna go,
You need a change of pace"
And when we hit the strip with all the wedding chapels
And the neon signs he said
"I left my wallet in El Segundo"
And proceeded to take two grand of mine
We made tracks to the Mandalay Bay hotel
Asked the bell boy if he'd take me and my monkey as well
He looked in the passenger seat of my car
And with a smile he said
"If your monkey's got that kind of money sir,
Then we've got a monkey bed"
Me and my monkey
With a dream and a gun
Hoping my monkey
Don't point that gun at anyone
Me and my monkey
Like Butch and the Sundance Kid
Trying to understand
Why he did what he did
Why he did what he did
And at the elevator I hit the 33rd floor
He had a room up top with a panoramic views
Like nothing you've ever seen before
He went to sleep in the bidet and when he awoke
He ran his little monkey fingers through the yellow pages
Called up escort services and ordered some okey doke
Forty minutes later there came a knock at the door
In walked this big, bad-ass baboon into my bedroom
With 3 monkey whores
"Hi, my name is Sunshine. These are my girls.
Lace my palm with silver baby oh yeah
And they'll rock your world"
So I watched pay per view and polished my shoes and my gun
Was diggin old Kurt Cobain singin' 'bout lithium
There came and knocked at the door and in walked Sunshine
"What's up?" - "You better get your ass in here boy
Your monkey is having too much of a good time"
Me and my monkey
Drove in search of the sun
Me and my monkey
Don't point that gun at anyone
Me and my monkey
Like Billy the Kid
Trying to understand
Why he did what he did
Why he did what he did
Got tickets to see Sheena Easton
The monkey was high
Said it was a burning ambition to see her before he died
We left before encores
He couldn't sit still
Sheena was a blast baby
But my monkey was ill
We went to play black jack
Kept hittin' 23
Couldn't help but notice this Mexican just staring at me
Or was it my monkey?
I couldn't be sure
It's not like you've never seen a monkey in rollerblades
And dungarees before
Now don't test my patience cause we're not about to run
That's a bad-ass monkey boy and he's packing a gun
"My name is Rodriguez" he says with death in his eye
"I've been chasing you for a long time amigos
And now your monkey is gonna die"
Me and my monkey
Drove in search of the sun
Me and my monkey
We don't wanna kill no Mexican
But we got ten itchy fingers
One thing to declare
When the monkey is high
You do not stare
You do not stare
You do not stare
Looks like we got ourselves a Mexican stand off here boy
And I ain't about to run
Put your gun down boy
How did I get mixed up with this fuckin' monkey anyhow
