When you do this, does this wipe everyone from the lap top? I figured this was a factor reset and after doing this it seemed to have made my laptop “anew” again and I sold it.
It removes everything and makes your pc like when you first bought it.

Mine doesn’t give that system recovery option it comes up with choose keyboard I choose US. Then it brings me to advanced options. System restore, system image recovery, startup repair, command prompt, and UEFI firmware settings. What do I do??

Courtney Gilmore just do the system restore, that’s what happens when it says incomplete, you have to do it again, I did it & now my laptop is fine again.

Hi Miguel, thank you for posting this. I did as you suggested to restore back to factory settings. Towards the end I received a pop-up white window by HP recovery manager saying the restoration is incomplete and that I should be selecting one of the following buttons. Save log, details, retry. The background is entirely black with the cursor blinking on the top left corner saying the system cannot find the drive specified. What Should I be doing? Thank you for your assistance.

Yes you should be able to just use 'Reset PC', it'll probably delete everything u have on that computer

Whenever I try holding f11 after power on it doesn’t take me to this 0:39 and it just says recovery on the very top and I can’t do anything I’ve lost hope cus no one has done a video where the screen I have doesn’t appear on theirs

buy an external hard drive or usb drive and copy all your files such as documents, pictures, and videos to it. then delete it on the laptop. try it again. once done copy it back to original place

Just a tip if you have a password screen lock disable it before you do any of this if you dont you will be unable to get past the lock screen, WHY? because doing any of the options whether it be keep my files or remove everything both options will delete the administrative account NOW this is not a big deal if like i said you have no password protection lock screen BUT if you do then you have just basically made a lock and erased your key! Hope this is helpful to someone just disable password screen and it should be ok if you dont have fun with that lol.

This is happening to me to I keep on pressing retry but it just goes back
Press f11+power button, then go to troubleshoot, choose option to keep files then reset. It will fix that problem. 👍

So I followed everything and at the end it said restoration incomplete and to save log or retry.
If I save log it says I need a removable disc
And if I click retry it comes back to the same thing
I tried shutting the laptop down but when I turn it on, its sign in page says administrator, then access denied and then comes back to recovery manager.
Did you find a fix?
@@yungswitchblade1702 I do believe I did, it involved deleting the audit or somin, I'll try to find the video I watched, but the fix didnt last long as my laptop got a bit weird after so I had to give in and take it to the shop and pay 30 quid.

I bough a HP probook withough operating system The laptop came with DOS and a file for the user amnuel and the warrantly. in order to instal the windows i had toformat the disc and lost the warranty and usermanual which was saved from factory. If i restor to factory defaults, does the files(warranty and manuar) will be restored??(it came with them from factory. thank you alto

Hello! I reset my laptop & Cortana was walking me through the set up. It's been over an hour when she was getting windows 11 for me & nothing has happened.
