    Daniel Kitson, alias Spencer, what a fucking legend. A brilliant comedian.

      Ha, Kitson would hate you saying that. He's on record saying that participating in Phoenix Nights was a mistake. He hates Peter Kay. He thinks the show was lazy and employed racist jokes.
      The idea among Kitsonites is that his being a maverick and refusing to release material commercially is due to a pessimism born of his inability to control the poor product of Phoenix Nights. So blame that fat b*stard Kay for depriving comedy fans and the general public from accessible work of the one of the paramount greatest comedians of his generation*
      *or any, let's face it.

    What does Ryan Long mean when he says the British are 'behind' (presumably the Americans) on comedy? It's been bugging me. It implies that the Brits are just waiting to see what American comedians do and then going 'Oh we have to do that now!'. I just can't see it. Obviously there are many, many very funny American comedians, I'm not having a dig at them.

    The reason comedians are popular is because of the conformity in society. People can't develop this freedom and invention of thought and speech in their daily lives.

    • @Peepholecircus
      @Peepholecircus 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@imfpredicts You know whatI gave tis another shot, still think it's pretty painful.
      Maybe it's just of it's time, it is 20 years ago now.
      It's pretty much Peter Kaye level comedy and not that much above Mrs Brown's boys, referencing Ozymandias does not elevate it beyond that I'm afraid. Which is probably why no one hears from this guy much anymore.

    This at least is a new thing - comedy for people with no sense of humour.
