    Wonder how many others will seek out Daniel Kitson videos after seeing Basic Lee. Which was hysterical. This guy is brilliant.

    Like an ambivalent diety, "Ra!" Is one of the smartest throwaway gags of all time.

    Lee got some of his stand up techniques here
    That’s a call back.

      I'm only here because Stewart Lee recommended him:
      'Few serious fans of the form will deny that Kitson is the world's greatest living stand-up... & the fact that you have never heard of him is irrelevant.'

      I once told James Acaster, before he was a household name, that his set was the best I’d seen since Kitson (it was) and he said “oh wow!” And looked pleased to bits. I loved him even a bit more for that :)

    The comments I've seen are all pretty much that they either love or hate this guy. I think he's pretty funny but not as good as Stewart Lee rates him.

    • @jackjude
      @jackjude 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      This is just a little TV slot though, which many comedians have distain for. He's better telling stories in his actual set.

      Looked the guy up after reading a rave review of the guy on some Quora question. Doesn't really live up to the hype the commenter built up.

      I went to see Kitson live and he was alright, nowhere near as good as Stewart Lee. Kitson also seemed like a bit of a jerk, like really full of himself.

    Only 34 'thumbs-up' in 4 years suggests that you ARE as bad at this as they were thinking!
    I'm guessing I got 'first comment' because everyone else who started watching woke up half way through the next video!

      @@garethtyson Bernard Manning was/is funny. He may have been a racist monster but he had impeccable comic timing and some of his non racist jokes are very funny. Much funnier than anything coming out of the mouth of this rambling shitsucker Kitson.
