    I have pretty much spent my whole life on an Oliver 770, My grandpa farmed with his until 2017 and I bought one a couple years ago for my own use. The 770 is just a great tractor, incredibly useful and comfortable. We used the 770 for light tillage, disking, harrowing, pulling the seed drill, baling hay, running the corn picker, powering the feed mill, plowing snow, etc... I can't image farming, or hobby farming without one in my own fleet.

      Yeah. So long as the fingers in the seat spring dont slip by one another. Then theyre the worst.

    Now that’s big tractor power! Grew up with Oliver and still use a 1755 today as part of the fleet. No tractor engine sounds better IMHO.

    5-23-23 Illinois Yes remember those days......Drove a IH 560 gas row crop pulling a JD 214T with a thrower.......you had to be on your toes to align thrower to wagon otherwise you stopped
    to pick up missed bales that was back in the 60's !!

    It's always nice to see old iron still being used! I was raised on A-C equipment but, I married the oldest of the 3 neighbor girls and, father in-law ran Oliver equipment so, I spent plenty of time with it too. He still has and uses the 1855 that he bought new back in 1969.

    I grew up in Charles City, IA. The makers of Oliver's were a very proud group of works. Made great tractors. My Dad worked in the plant for 20 years. Right up to it's closing as White Farm in the early 80's. The plant is gone now. Sad.

    I spent many hours raking hay with an Oliver 60 with a john deere or New Holland rollbar rake. Before we upgraded to a discbine we mowed most of the hay with an Oliver 66 wide front. I've bailed with a 60, 66, 77 or super 88 on a New Holland 69 baler. We don't do many small bales anymore so we still have the old 69 baler that was my grandpa's.

      Australia is an interesting market for Oliver. I have a few Australian Oliver brochures and White Farm Equipment brochures. Australia had a few Oliver model cations not sold in U.S. like the 1950 El Toro and 2270. Around 1973 the Oliver 55 series in Australia became the White 55 series and were sold in Sumac Red. Between 1974-1976 silver White tractors were phased into Australia. White maintained a full line presence in Australia through 1985.

    • @Canis_Lupus_Rex
      @Canis_Lupus_Rex ปีที่แล้ว

      Turning radius, if you work from outside in, by the time you get to the center you would have to make some wide turns to get back on the hay swath. The same concept is u 10:36 sed when pulling long tillage tools.

    • @ArmpitStudios
      @ArmpitStudios ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Canis_Lupus_Rex That's not what I'm talking about. At 7:40 he turns instead of going straight on to the rest of that same windrow that's right in front of the tractor. The windrows are also curved at the ends, so they were mowed that same way. That looks horribly inefficient. Hopefully there's a logical reason for that.
