Hi Taylor. Thanks for taking us along with you on your first haying session of the season. Glad everything worked well for. I want to compliment you on your great camera angles during the filming of this video. It allows us to watch the details of your machines working. And it’s also fun watching your baler “give birth “ to the first bale of the year. Awesome and informative video. 🐄🚜🍀😉

Hi Clarence 😀. I’m so glad you joined us for our first day out in the fields! Thank you so much for the compliment! I sometimes worry I’m overdoing it with all the different shots and it great to hear that y’all enjoy them🙂. 😂 Gotta admit that first bale “baby” always makes me nervous!!😅 Have a wonderful day!

Taylor, u need to start protecting ur hearing while ur young. Get a good pair of ear protectors for when ur on the tractor! And Brent should be wearing some safety glasses when he’s grinding and sharpening. Farmers can’t afford to be hurt!

The sound of that old IH diesel is just exquisite. Smooth as silk at any rpm. And the faster they spin the sweeter the sound. And they would spin beyond the manufacturer recommendations and come back for more.

Taylor, enjoy your videos. Here’s a thought regarding opening up a new hay field, especially along a woods like the second one. My dad taught me to start right in mowing what will eventually be the second windrow first. That way, the tractor, not the mower is running along the outside edge. You won’t hurt the tractor running over a limb or whatever may have ended up in the edge of the field, but you will see/feel it and you can stop and throw it out of the way. Then, when you’re done mowing the field, turn counterclockwise and mow the outside windrow. Just a thought from an old guy who has run over a bunch of stuff over the years. Thanks for making the videos!

Great time first time haying for the year. Glad nothing broke. Wish I was there farming alongside you. You are one hard working fun person to be with. I loved the first-time haying for the year also. It was rewarding. My uncle also grew corn for silage. We just chopped it and blew into a vertical silo. We made square bales and stored them in the haymow on the upper level of the barn. It was fun to say the least. Again, wish I could farm alongside you. Go have a cup of coffee and get ready for milking. Have fun and God Bless.

Love your farm and the countryside. I’m retired dairy farmer, we milked around 70 to 80 most years. Small family farm. I have cut a few thousand acres with a similar Kuhn mower over the years, but with a Deere tractor. Our farm was similar to your operation. Mostly used equipment with Guernsey and Holstein cattle. Started in a stantion barn and built a small parlor in the early ‘50’s. Double three parlor milking into 10 gallon cans cooled in ice water bath cooler for years and than had to go to bulk tank around mid to late ‘60’s. About 8 or 900 miles south of you guys. In the a state. Largest field was 20 acres. Farm totaled 300. Lots of woods and pasture. Good job, hope you can stick to it. Low earnings and hard work.
Just a thought, all the years we mowed hay we always ran the first swath the other direction then you. Thinking was that by driving the tractor over outside swaths first gave you a better chance of seeing trash, limbs, and debris before mower would be into it.

Hi sweetie 😊 I was going to mow hay today but now they’re saying it’s gonna rain Sunday and we dry pretty much everything so instead I’m gonna go plow some ground. The hay looks nice and heavy. Just like down here you’re doing an awesome job. If anything ever happens with the farm, I’m gonna hire you in a minute. We have the exact same discbine but yours is in a lot better shape. We are in the process of finding a newer one, but the old one still works for now. Sweetheart, talk to you soon.🤗 I’m out a few acres on my birthday, which was the 24th and dry. Build it with square bales. Just check over the machinery lol glad everything‘s working good. Hopefully it’s a good hay season for all of us.🙏🏻💪🏻

Hi Taylor. This remind me of when I ran a round bailer all over the country side here in Illinois doing custom bailing. I hade a 1260 Case with a Gehl bailer with rope wrap sistem. It was a lot of fun out there by myself with no boss around until I broke down and no one close to help me and no radio to call no one.
Other that that it was fun. Yeah the tractor had a cab with air conditioning and radio for music.

Taylor just a little tip, always do the hedge row last because you can see branches on every turn. The old Farmall has a lot of power!
