You'll be happy to hear that you randomly popped into my feed via the yt algorithm, and I have never seen your channel before. I enjoyed the video very much, keep up the good work. Don't stop trying, TH-cam is a rough up and down rollarcoaster just like the sc2 ladder. Lol
TLDR: The struggle is real but this video gives me hope; Really appreciate this as I've been going through a rough patch! I've been in that plat mmr "plateau" for so long. I remember a year ago when vibelol started his most recent BtGM series and something clicked in my brain. I became obsessed with mineral line upkeep, basically all the "boring" parts of macro. I started maxing out at 10min, sometimes 9:15ish when my opponents were nice enough to not attack me. I was largely ignoring my opponents. I quickly shot up to 3100 MMR from a 2600 average. I got to my personal best of 3200ish, was within like 2 wins of a Diamond league promo before my MMR shot back down again. I haven't been that close to a Diamond promo since, despite the promo number being in the 3150s now (ironically, a number which I had previously eclipsed). I've added a lot of things to my gameplay, camera locations, more consistent Ctrl groups, a pinch of micro such as stutter stepping, and better scouting. After all these side quests I think I'm a better overall player, but you wouldn't know it from my MMR. I've been making out of character rookie gold league mistakes recently, the culprit of my most recent MMR nose dive. It's time to reintegrate those basics again! If I can retain some of that more complex mechanics while having enough production and actually spending my money I think I'll hit diamond! Maybe it'll actually become my new floor lol
yeah it's always tough. ive done this before too; whenever i feel like i 'learned' something and can move past it, i usually need to go back to it eventually. it's always up and down but glhf out there!
I remember back like 2019, first time I actually got into the game I got 20 points from diamond, then just got massive later anxiety so I never played, and I thus I never hit diamond. Even coming back to the game, I've never hit it. It can be very anxiety driving lol.
Just found this video by typing the search term "starcraft increasing mmr" into TH-cam. Great points man. Took a look at the rest of your content, especially the playlist "Starcraft 2 Mentality Comments." Nice work.
This was awesome, great job!
