  • This video is a full time-lapse of tearing down the engine on a 2001 Suzuki RM125 project bike. I will upload another video explaining the process of dismantling a dirt bike engine as I dismantle. But for now, enjoy this cool time-lapse.
As most people know the 2-stroke engine is pretty straight forward so it is quite easy to dismantle. I got pretty lucky with this engine in that nothing was siezed and I had no issues with removing any parts.

Lad just came into this video first irish lad I've seen 👌, I'm rebuilding a rmz 250 2011 it should be mostly the same in bottom end I'm guessing?

Yea bottom end is very similar through all engines, 4 stroke and 2 stroke. My vids should give you a good idea 👌 just take your time when setting the timing etc in the top end and you’ll be good.

@@kieranmacca9370 grand 👌 any tips on removing crank bearings?

If you can, put the crankcase in an oven at 150c and the bearing should fall out after about 15 mins or so.
Failing that you can just use a bearing puller but I’d still heat the crankcase.
