I love how the thumbnail has a shark, when in this game, you’ll WISH you had a nice cuddly shark as the biggest threat
I play this game so much and I would rather make a base near large amounts of sharks compared to literally anywhere else
Except the damn Bonesharks. I can't handle Bonesharks. I found these cool Underwater Islands, then one of those critters rammed my Seamoth. I went 100 M away for repairs. BOOM same Boneshark chased me. I went ALL THE WAY UP to the surface, 280 meters up, got out to make repairs, and the Boneshark followed me all the way to the surface to attack me. Had to flee all the way to the safe shallows. How do you deal with that?
@@rainbowdash8003 Don’t repair your vehicle until you stop hearing noises and you are in a corner
@@undersiding2238 Thanks. If I'm able to find the materials I need to build torpedos, will that at least make the Bonesharks leave me alone so I can explore deeper, find the materials I need, and keep the story going?
@@rainbowdash8003 Well yes, but it might also be a good idea to turn off the lights until you go deeper, they are extremely attracted to any light source and I lost two sea moths before I learned my lesson

I like how every single new subnautica player always does these three things: fill their inventory with acid mushrooms; tries to go to the aurora super early, and gets super scared by the crashfish
when i first played the only one of these i did was get scared from the crashfish lol
i always wait until i super geared up(even overprepared) until i go somewhere in most games
even pros get scared of crashfish tho
i think coz we think that the aurora is gonna have some interesting stuff besides the ocean and may have some new loot and stuff

I am horrified of the ocean now from playing subnutica it all started seeing the end of Dantdms play though and only the end and it just went down from there as i slowly learned about the game and learned I am terrified of just empty open water and not being able to see anything around me
@@agentdoggo6085 I don't have a phobia of the ocean, but subnautica has some moments that scare me so much. I'm fine being on the surface with nothing but ocean around, but when you go to the edge of the map, and it goes dark, and you see nothing around you in all directions except dark water, that's truly terrifying.
In below zero, I turned on commands and went as deep as I can go from the edge of the map. Apparently you can go underneath the map.
When you're underneath the map, it's terrifying, because you know for a fact there IS NO BOTTOM underneath you. I know there is nothing underneath, but that doesn't stop your brain from imagining a gargantuan leviathan or worse in the depths.

It's interesting to see the older build that had the terraforming feature. It's too bad they couldn't make it work but either way the game turned out to be an amazing experience. Makes you think the future of gaming might be in the hands of indie developers like these guys. AAA games are always just marketing ventures that end in disappointment lately. Once more expensive technologies become more widely available, we'll have people like this using today's cutting edge visuals like raytracing and good lighting, and I'd say they are getting pretty close to that point.
I do love how this game looks, the lighting is pretty on point with actual dives and all, but on the topic of overall games, I love me some retro style stuff too. It ain't all in the super realistic graphics when it comes to games, it's the core concepts that matter the most. A lot of AAA focuses mostly on just looks to reel you in while the games are usually pretty mediocre for being developed by massive teams.
@@FloofersFXSo much of it is style over substance, I never mind lower poly and pixels as long as the game is GOOD and fun to play.

"THE OCEAN IS A BIG SCARY PLACE"
This coming from the guy who wants to go to space with a 0% survival rate.
Markiplier everyone. XD
(Alright lets see if I can ease some confusion here. I don't mean statistically a 0% survival rate, I mean he has another video with "Universe Simulator" where he proclaims "If there was a program for volunteers to go into space with a 100% chance of dying" he would be "first in line" due to his love of space. I'm not trying to give any statistics with this first comment, it was merely a joking reference to another of his videos.)
Lol, so true! And he made this video AFTER that, obviously!
But we have more information about space than we do about the oceans. Plus things are for sure alive and wanting to eat you in the ocean 😜
I'd say space & the ocean are equally scary, mysterious, & fascinating.
True, true, but as the comment below said we know more about space and we know there aren't living beings in our researched atmosphere coming to kill us. The only thing that can kill us in space that has nothing to do with ship or suit malfunction and stuff like that is the debris.

8 YEARS AGO. I'm getting old.
I swear it feels like this game released 2 years ago.
Fun fact: dispute what fallout makes you believe, water is unable to retain radiation
The radiation goes away when you stop the engine core from leaking, it doesn't stay irradiated.
Water is also an excellent radiation blocker. If you're even a few meters away from the ship, you should not be experiencing *any* radiation from it.
Honestly, the hull of the ship should be blocking it too. Titanium also blocks radiation - it's what the probes sent to Jupiter were shielded with.h

I'm rewatching this series since this game just came out on Switch and I started my own Playthrough. Anyone else?
I distinctly remembered Jack making stuff out of raw titanium and when I looked it up, Titanium Ingots are only used for stuff like the Mobile Vehicle Bay, Moon Pool, Nuclear Reactor, and Thermal Plant and cannot be broken down into raw titanium again, therefore since Mark doesn't have the supplies to make the things to make the things Titanium is used for, its a waste of all of his titanium when he could just have made a cube to store it in instead.

I've grown to feel safe around the stalkers, because their habitat is so confined and filled with crap that I know reaper leviathans can't live there
I bought the game 2 years ago, and I've never made it farther than the red grass base 😝😅
@@princessblazena you can do it now. I believe in you.!
Just wait til you see the sea dragon leviathan that eats the reapers.
The game that made my thalassophobia surface was, weirdly enough, Totally Accurate Battle Simulator. I had the camera under water while looking for secrets, and the silhouette of a big rock appeared at the edge of the draw distance, and in the span of a second, I was sat in the fetal position in my chair, stress vomiting.
I've deliberately put both my bases overlooking a deep dark abyss so that 1 I have access to safety after I go hesitantly explore them and have to run home in terror.. and 2 I know they are in safe, or mostly safe territory, few predators and nothing too dangerous if I stick to my own area. So I'm using my backyard as exposure therapy while I obsessively collect every single resource available in the shallows in my ridiculous physics-defying base.
Mark in 2015: 14:25 “You would NEVER catch me dead in the ocean!”
Mark in 2019 for Unus Annus: *Mark swims in the ocean to face his fears*
Yeah and he wasn't caught dead so and?
I didnt know dantdm played Subnautica
Every time he swims deeper I get severe anxiety.
+Michael Kakarov me too.. but the weird thing is.. my favorite sea creature is the shark... yet i fear going into the water because of them.... Logic.
It's kind of the opposite for me, every time he swims above deep water I want him to go down and explore it.
+Michael Kakarov So stop watching.
+SupSatire oh shut up it means he has feelings for Mark (not in a wierd way tho)
That's not what severe anxiety means, you grey ape.
Whoa the rare and elusive bluehaired mark
No Legendary
It's very rare
Dantdm's DAD confirmed????
Shiny mark
Drakkonbane78 he’s ocean flavored
i don't know if i'm weird and nobody else does this but when he starts losing his breath i automatically hold my breath until he gets to the surface
God Subnautica was a trip, I've been playing it for two years and finally beat it last week
Took you THAT much time?? Damm
