    I bought a ring from dumpy bunny a few years ago and I am just now getting around to do exactly what you just did but for a 1.8t swap. Very informative video. Thanks for posting it.

      We all owe @dumpybunny a debt of gratitude for making this possible.

    You certainly dont give yourself enough credit for the stuff you accomplish. Just because your channel doesnt get thousands of views within hours doesnt mean the content is lacking in any way. In the end, if anything, it shows the reality of building cars instead of the glamour that most big channels try to project. 👍🏼

      You're spot on there. Building cars is hard work, and sometimes it is a 2 steps forward 3 steps back game to make progress.
      But I hope I have solved the fuel issue and can move on to figuring out the boost leak at 3400 rpm now

    Great job on the getting the fuel pump in! I have heard of people would put some dry ice in the tank before welding a gas tank.

      @ThrottleGrotto  16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Great tip. - I haven't seen that specifically, but the evaporating dry ice would probably displace the fuel vapors, so it makes sense

    That's probably the best way to get rid of my noisy 044 style pump probably but I'm probably gonna stick with a cabby in tank fuel sender... if I can ever find one that doesn't break the bank. 😅

      It's wild that parts we used to not care about are now impossible to find!

    Great to see your still in one piece 😂. But would it have been easier to upgrade the pump in the tank or bigger pipes from tank to engine under the car ? Or is it all down to the mk1 golfs / rabbit swirl pot being no good ?

    • @ThrottleGrotto
      @ThrottleGrotto  16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I could have mounted the aem pump on the cabriolet sending unit. But that part was degrading and is more difficult to source. This solution isn't esthetically as nice looking, but should be easier to get parts for longer.

      @@ThrottleGrotto what was the main problem ? Lack of a swirl pot ? I do like the idea now that any mk4 pump will fit it in and even if you change engines or any upgrade it’s kind of future proofed . I’ve gotten a mk1 tintop 3 door in the shed, no engine. I was thinking ahu tdi . But enjoying your bunny rabbit build .
      Oh so on my cabriolet mk1 I have rabbit badges for the front and rear thanks to being super cheap on eBay 😅 but at every show I go to people always ask what’s with the bunny rabbit badges 😂

      @@stevenharpervw how do they not know that it was a rabbit in the us?
      I think the 2 main problems were the bent fuel line and the less than ideal pump. An AHU tdi would really be a lot of fun, I had a mk3 TDI bunny a while back and it was hilarious.

    Hey man, I need to see if this ring flange will work with the Honda Fit fuel pump. It looks like the same lock ring. I've searched the site you linked and can't find it. Do you have the part number? Great episode!

    • @ThrottleGrotto
      @ThrottleGrotto  17 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I don't think they have a part number. Shoot them a message on the website and they should be able to help. It wasn't listed on the website st all. I wrnt direct

    Copied from Dumpy Bunny, that tank pump billet piece. Give Ryan the credit for that one. Just like the billet mounts for the 1.4t to hang in the mk1 bay, also Ryan.

    • @ThrottleGrotto
      @ThrottleGrotto  16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I didn't know Ryan was selling either of those parts. I had to make my own mounts!
      But agreed, I remember seeing him post about those rings 2 or 3 years ago.
