Hi, thanks for your comment! If the layers are thin and the same size and I’m trying to make the earrings thicker, then I will glue them together. If the layers are staggered sizes, I like them to gang loosely. I will cut those from thicker leather. And yes, I can make a video for you about that! :)
Hi, Malinda! Double sided faux leather can bee too thick to cut with a Cricut, even with the Knife blade. I would first do a small test cut using the regular fine point blade using the Faux Leather (Paper Thin) setting with More pressure. Repeat the cut by pressing the cut button again after each cut - being sure you don't unload the mat at all. See if repeating the cut 3-5 times works. If not, I would try the knife blade. Again, repeat the cut a few times to see if that helps cut all the way through. If those ideas don't work, you may want to look at using a die cutting machine like a Sizzix with steel die cutters to cut shapes from thicker materials.
Hi, Raena! Since faux leather cuts face down, it's best to use the mirror setting. For letters, words, or other designs/shapes that have a definite left and right side, then mirroring is a must. :)

I tried making a pair of faux leather earrings using the pebbled leather. I added the iron on vinyl to the back side. But the heat made the pebble design on the front disappear on part of the earring. As if it melted it? I don't really know what happened. The earring looks fine until you look at it closely and see that part of the pebbles are missing. What did I do wrong? I use a regular iron. I love your videos!
Hi, Pam! Sounds like a little too much heat and maybe too much pressure. Iron-on over faux leather doesn’t need the same high heat and pressure that vinyl on a shirt does. I would reduce the temp and also press firmly but not hard for about 5 seconds at a time. Let me know if that helps! I’ve done that myself so I understand! :)

Hi, Mao! Thanks for your message. I have never heard of that happening until the first time earlier this week. I'm so puzzled as to what could be causing it! Is your purple mat brand new? Im making butterfly earrings but it is cutting too much almost the lines are getting destroyed... Maybe its because I didnt tape it down? also the rollers on your cricut I see two white rollers to the right and I have 4 all across the roller does that make a difference?
Hi, Crystal! Thanks for your comment. Yes, move the star wheels off to the sides. You can push them gently with your fingers and nudge them to the edges. Also tape down your faux leather for better cuts! Let me know how it goes. :)
Hi, Jan! I use faux leather that is not Cricut brand all the time. In each of my tutorials I link to the exact material I used - usually the faux leather is from Etsy or Amazon. That being said, if you wanted to cut a mandala pattern from faux leather, using Cricut brand would be my suggestion. It is thin and dense, so it makes intricate cuts better than other materials. I did a snowflake earring design last year with a delicate scalloped edge, and Cricut brand faux leather was the only material that would make the cut cleanly. You can see the snowflake design on my blog here: amyromeu.com/diy-snowflake-earrings-cricut/ Another idea is to cut the mandala from foil iron-on or heat transfer iron on and press it on a faux leather base. That way you get the intricate design but you don't have to struggle cutting it from faux leather. Here's an example from my blog of a more intricate design cut from foil iron-on and then pressed onto faux leather: amyromeu.com/diy-cricut-boho-faux-leather-teardrop-earrings/

I did everything that you mentioned that I'm having trouble with the detail of my earring lift it up and Ruining the whole cut! Help
Hi, Ana! Are you cutting from chunky glitter? It's best to use a simple design when cutting chunky glitter. If your design is too complex, it may not cut well.
Do you ever use faux leather that is not the Cricut brand? Do you think the Cricut can cut an intricate 3-D mandala patterns?
You can see the snowflake design on my blog here: amyromeu.com/diy-snowflake-earrings-cricut/
Another idea is to cut the mandala from foil iron-on or heat transfer iron on and press it on a faux leather base. That way you get the intricate design but you don't have to struggle cutting it from faux leather. Here's an example from my blog of a more intricate design cut from foil iron-on and then pressed onto faux leather: amyromeu.com/diy-cricut-boho-faux-leather-teardrop-earrings/
Making faux leather earrings. The foil will not adhere to it. Any reason you can think of ????
Hi, Betty! Is your faux leather smooth or pebbled (or otherwise textured)? I have a video on how I foiled faux leather earrings that you may want to check out for more foiling tips!

Do you ever sublimate the faux leather or leather earrings?
Hi, Pita! I haven't sublimated faux leather, but I have sublimated on sublimation earring blanks. You can see what I mean in this video: th-cam.com/video/U13-TJkn0Kc/w-d-xo.html
It keeps breaking my blades.
