    Great tutorial, the tip about using the strong grip transfer tape is invaluable to keep glitter off the mat. I love your earring designs, I have made quite few of them.

    If you have a air 2 what setting you put on the machine

    • @AmyRomeu
      @AmyRomeu  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Carmen! For an Explore Air 2, I use the same settings (and blade, jus the regular fine point blade) as I do for the Maker and the Joy machines. You'll need to turn your dial to Custom first, then select Faux Leather (Paper Thin) as the setting with "more" pressure. Repeat the cut as needed - you'll probably repeat the cut at least once, sometimes three or four times - for the cut to go all the way through.

    If you use a household iron to press the foil iron on on the back what iron setting would be equivalent to the low setting on the easy press mini?

    • @AmyRomeu
      @AmyRomeu  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, Christen! You know, I'm not sure exactly! I would try a medium to medium low setting to start. Use the heat in 5-7 second bursts and don't apply too much pressure. Be sure to use a cover sheet and make sure the steam setting is off.

    Love your necklace and have never actually used the cricut machine and just bought the maker. What blade did you use to cut the faux leather?

    • @AmyRomeu
      @AmyRomeu  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Tracey! I used the standard fine point blade that comes with the Maker (as well as the Explore Air 2, and the Cricut Joy).

    What material do you need to select for the chunky glitter on the explore air 2

    • @AmyRomeu
      @AmyRomeu  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Victoria! I select the same material setting whether I'm using the Maker, the Explore Air 2, or the Joy. I use Faux Leather (Paper Thin) with more pressure, and I always repeat the cut by pressing the C button before unloading the mat.

      @@AmyRomeu OK. So then you have to do it a few times before it cuts through?

    • @AmyRomeu
      @AmyRomeu  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It cuts through most of the way the first time, but I repeat the cut just to be sure and to cut any stray strands. Usually glitter is on a canvas backing. :)

    Hi Amy, I have some chunky glitter with what looks like material vs canvass on the back. I tried twice to cut it on my air exp!ore 2, but it just tears at the piece. I did try the strong grip transfer tape and blue tape and got the same result. Any suggestions?

    • @AmyRomeu
      @AmyRomeu  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Noula! Thanks for your comment. Some ideas to consider: first, is the design complex or intricate? Simple designs cut best. Also, did you trim the piece to a size just larger than the shapes that need to cut, and are you cutting just one pair at a time? Finally, how many times did you repeat the cut? Glitter may need three or four repeated cuts - be sure you are using "more" pressure too. :)

    • @noulanaulls6537

      @@AmyRomeu hi there Amy. Thank you for your reply. The design was a simple 4 leaf clover. I did use more pressure. Never had the chance to try second run as it was torn already and I had to even take my time to clear it away from under the blade. Even tried the deep cut blade.

    • @AmyRomeu
      @AmyRomeu  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Holly. Thanks for your comment. I'm sorry you are having a hard time cutting glitter. I haven't tried the deep point blade, I just use the standard fine tip, so I don't have any suggestions there. Can you tell me what it happening when you cut - is the cut not going all the way through, is the material bunching up, etc? Also, what shape are you cutting - is your design very intricate? Also, are you repeating the cut? Finally, are you cutting a lot of shapes at once?

    Have you ever had issues with the holes tearing at the top of the earring?

    • @AmyRomeu
      @AmyRomeu  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Alicia! I haven't personally. I try to place the hole in my SVGs as far away from the edge as possible so that won't happen. It is possible if the faux leather is thin or if someone tugs on the earring, though. In that case you can try using thicker faux leathers or double siding the earring with faux leather front and back. I have a video here on how to double side: th-cam.com/video/Q1IK6EfA6c8/w-d-xo.html
