I bought the Redmi 2 days ago, I really would love it except of 2 big showstoppers for me. It has a really weak vibration motor. Before the purchase, I haven't thought I should try vibration first in a store or something, now I know. The bigger problem is a bit specific one, I cannot use Android Auto with this phone in my car. It was working perfectly with my previous phone Xiaomi MI 9T Pro. The Redmi can connect, but the head unit's screen is freezing, refreshing in every minute or so, however I can hear Waze instructions, I can receive calls. This has something to do with Mediatek chipset and something with my car's head unit. I read a lot of reports from users with Xiaomi Mediatek phones and 3-5 years old cars (different manufacturers, Citroen, Nissan, Suzuki, Opel...). So I decided to take the phone back to dealership, and I will try the A55... Now there is a great discount at one of the online shops in my country, I can buy a 256GB version for 400€. I tried its vibration in a store, it felt stronger to me, maybe it has bigger motor. This comparison is really useful, thanks.
I just got my Redmi Note 13 Pro+ Fan Festival in Mystic Silver but it has a shinny back which gets tons of fingerprints - not recommended, but already installed the protector. The phone is heavier than my prior Realme GT2 and not as smooth. I'm hoping for better performance when the Hyper OS arrives in Europe. The battery is not that great either, but the charger is a huge plus.
Had a bit of a bad experience using Xiaomi's REdmi phones, but the overall experience was okay. When I switched to the Samsung, it felt like everything was an upgrade.
I went for the A55 over the Poco X6 Pro and I'm glad I did. It's more expensive and isn't as quick in SoC or charging, but has superior support, better build and better cameras which frankly I was getting a bit sick of over my last 2 or 3 Pocos and Xiaomis. The X3 Pro was my last exercise in prioritising SoC above all else and it wasn't the best decision I ever made... pretty much everything else on the phone was cheapened so they could justify a SD860. Add to that the supposed board reliability issues in the X6 Pro... although I had no problem with X5 Pro although X3 Pro was getting proper flakey before it's battery proceeded to swell up. Oh, and you can get a good deal of A55 accessories too... the Chinese OEMs generally aren't as well catered for, unfortunately. All in all very happy with the A55 so far...
@@JazilMouton-ji4ik I haven't compared the A55 against this specific Redmi, but it beats out every midrange Xiaomi and Poco I've had, and it's not even close. I don't see the Redmi breaking any new ground.

On the Redmi side : -i already had xiaomi phone and was actually pleased with it for 4 years now. -120W charger that comes with a phone -curved display 8/256 unlike samsungs 8/128 On the Samsung side: - Its been a while since i had samsung phone - OS definitely better on Samsung also 4 years of OS updates unlike Xioami 4 (actually 3 ,cause phone comes with android 13 , so as soon as you start it and update it to 14 and new hyper os you are left with 3 years of updates for android) -Design and aluminium frame Id like to hear your opinions and help me decide :)
Only 3 major OS updates for redmi (only 2 left since it came with Android 13). But with Xiaomi, you never actually know when will you receive those updates. Even the security updates would come so late
Good review of both phones . Is the back of A 55 plastic or polycarbonate ? Secondly though A 55 has Dolby Atmos support its earpiece doubles as secondary speaker so does that affect clarity and decibel output ? What's the security on the Redmi device as compared to the knox security on the A 55 .Lastly there is no Dolby Vision suport on the Samsung device so is that a deterrent .And most mid rengers are now coming with IP68 or IP69 rating compared to IP67 on the A55 so isn't that a drawback Kindly shed light on these points
Got a 128gb 8gb ram A55 as secondary phone off Amazon for 260 ,r.i.p to my note 10 lite ,it's an absolute bargain , pretty good for a mid ranger ,runs well ,on the fence about the camera though but is what it is for 260 bucks
Thanks for an interesting comparison, I am amused that the Samsung processor has better bench mark scores they are really pushing the envelope . Though generally I prefer the Redmi slightly.
No xiaomi anymore for me. After using xiaomi 13T i never want to buy any xiaomi phone anymore. The software is unreliable, no software update even tho there are lot of bugs.
Honestly the same for me. I have an 11 lite 5G NE and this hyperos bs has ruined everything, the phone no longer reads SD cards (yes my sd card still works, I've checked on other devices), everything is significantly slower and it keeps resetting my background to one of the default ones every couple of days
poco user here and the bugs are so many and the update support is crap, currently looking for a new phone to get as my poco just died and I'm going nowhere near xiaomi
I just switched my redmi note 11 pro 5g, because simply everything connected to phone antenna (calls, mobile data) stopped working and was barely usable after restarting each time... it was nice as a fresh phone, but feels like with every update it went worse.
The xiaomi is actually the better buy 🙂 To me xiaomi midrange phones are always better than Samsung's midrange phones, what annoys most people are the pre installed apps on the xiaomi. There is absolutely nothing there, all you just need to do is to delete them not as if it will take much of your time. I love xiaomi ❤
everyone loves value for money devices so you have to be utterly stupid to not like xiaomi. redmi under xiaomi in particular. oh no but then there is poco f6 so yes xiaomi is like the king of the midrange?? no every range. Fanboys disagreeeeee!!!! lol
What I would love to see is whether you recommend refurbished phones and how they compare to today's new phones. Like let's say a flag ship from a couple of years ago to today mid-range etc. Love the content and keep up the good work!👍🏻
I'm due a change. I'm open to new mid rangers/flagships 2nd hand. I do really like that I can use a memory card in the A55. Love a 3.5mm headphone jack too. There isnt one on the A55. Currently on a S10+
Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus 5G just need to give a massive software update on camera section ! Camera performance is extremely mediocre ! Rest are fine ! Specially the 120 wt charging is quite astonishing !
I have the Xiaomi Redmi 13 Pro Plus and I used it for some time, it's a good smartphone but... The Xiaomi operating system is full of advertising, and it can't be solved, it can be better but it doesn't, the curved screen looks good but it's a problem. The headache of getting protection tempered glass isn't enough, gel film works but doesn't protect much, the camera doesn't stabilize up close either... an advantage that I consider fast charging. I switched to a Samsung A55 I got it for a good price, the downside is slow loading, a slow fingerprint reader, otherwise everything is ok and finally there is no advertising on everything that opens...Xiaomi I don't recommend it for the same reason.
I nearly purchased the Xiaomi as featured in the video, but I was right put off by the things you mentioned. I've seen similar things on other reviews IE the ads and terrible bloatware. I'm also a bit dubious about the security on Xiaomi devices
Good advise regarding screen protector. I have hardly used the wireless charging on my phones. I would not always use the super fast charging. Only for top up. The Redmi is better value, even though I am a Samsung User - S23 Ultra. There some Samsung apps and features that I do use. I am not sure which of these phones I would choose, because I am spoilt by having a flagship phone. Good review.
I took your advice and got a huawei watch gt 3 pro and I'm getting 7 weeks battery life. Not keeping it turned on 24/7 but I did have a huawei watch gt 4 and got a whole month battery life.
I had the note 13 pro plus 5g for about two weeks and sadly I had to re sell it. The reason: I was unable to watch 4k 60fps HDR TH-cam videos, tried changing redmis refresh rate to 60 but problem persisted lagging, I was only able to see 4k TH-cam videos but not on 60fps nor HDR10+... I ended up buying edge 40 neo and I'm gladly able to. Also I'm keeping my old s20 fe who is perfectly able to reproduce HDR 60fps content fluently. Not to mention battery life and heating problems of this Redmi. Yikes!
@@markoroncevic 4k is not the problem, don't you see? It is HDR content on 60fps! It lags, even yt videos at 1080p HDR 60fps glitches... Honor x8b wouldn't allow 4k content on TH-cam and it's 1080p display, but I'm on edge 40 neo now, and it works flawlessly with 4k yt videos HDR 60fps! With NO PROBS at all... So who's fault is this? Processor? Edge 40 neo has dimensity above 7k... So...
Tf are you on about ? A simple 5 mins sweep over the phone will get all the ads/bloatware out of it if you cant even do that then a bloated phone should be the least of your worries
Hello. I kindly ask you to help me in making the following choice between these phones: Poco X6 pro VS Redmi Note 13 pro PLUS VS Motorola 50 Fusion VS Samsung A55. VS I am also opened to Poco F6 as a variant if it would be really worth it in my case. Use case: phone will be used for photos and media consumption (browsing, TH-cam etc); battery and system stability are important. Almost NO gaming on the phone and the number of years of future updates are not important.
Price difference is huge between the two. Redmi Note 13PP sells for $250 whereas the A55 goes above $400. A few bucks more and I could buy a new S23 so no thanks. Also that is so bulky with thick bezels yuck. Samsungs budget and mid ranges can't stand on with other brands. Only they give is one ui and their brand name.
Its looks like its time to buy myself a new phone. Ive been using this samsung galaxy J6 (probably 5 years old by now). In terms of which phone im gonna pick, i might just be loyal and choose the samsung A55. You see despite my phone being too old and outdated and its software update already stop (stopped at andoid 10) its still works. Its going to be a good quality upgrade for me to buy samsung......but it would depend on the mall/store im gonna buy of whichever available😂
I got the A55 as an upgrade from my A50. Absolutely worth every single penny. I did also get the Galaxy Buds FE with it since it was in the special deal window when I bought it. Battery life definitely impresses me about it (and HDR for the few videos that support it is a nice little bonus).
Going from the Note 10 Pro to the Note 11 Pro Plus was the most awful "upgrade" I've ever done. Laggy POS. I don't trust Xiaomi anymore. They are cashing out by putting crappier internals in. I'm sure of it. But I loathe to go back to Samsung... Edit: HyperOS fixed nothing 😢
Between a Galaxy A55 and the regular Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G I'm interested who takes a more sharper, more natural-looking photos, better audio in video recording, better performance in general, better battery life and better speakers? Need opinions please. Thanks .
me too, am also planning to either purchase the A55 or the Redmi note 13 pro 5g, as per what I herd the note is better but I guess we have to see the reviews let me know if you got the results so I can decide what I will parchse
I am considering Samsung over xiaomi is solely bcoz of Software. The software on xiaomi is crap: overheating, glitch, battery draining, lag, auto app close etc.
I owned 2 xiaomi devices so far, and none of them have issues with ANY of those, like literally I have no idea where you are getting that info? lol sure samsung software feels a little bit better but for the price, you can't beat xiaomi.
I heavily modified my Samsung a52 it out performs the Samsung a54 in speed performance and camera quality and refresh rate i ran alot of adb commands greatly enhancing the phones capabilities without voiding Samsung warranty i also increased the cpu responsiveness ect i did every legal adb command to give the phone the best performance without an increase in battery usage the phone is highly efficient
I am gonna go with the Redmi as this will be 2 versions from what I have but I think with Samsung you can USB to HDMI and get a destop mode. Something simliar I used to use on my Huawei phone. This was super handy for holidays and connect phone to a TV as not all TV's are smart and accept screenshare.
Could we please have a review of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 non 5G non pro poverty edition? I know it's arguably the same as last year but us consumers who want LED screens as cheap as possible are still here too
In terms of value for money it is a steal. 1080p amoled 33w fast charging and 3 year updates, you cannot go wrong with redmi note series. even the lowest variant has an under display fingerprint reader and vey small to negligible bezels. Redmi has out done almost every brand. Don't let the fanboys fool you since in psychology change is difficult to accept. redmi offers a flagship experience unless you are a power user.
It really is better over the two when looking for a balance of better performance & camera. Shame that Tecno still doesn't make any moves to increase its software support as Samsung and Xiaomi has done.
The differences are minimal yet i still dont know which to go for. I dont game on phones, camera, sound, watching videos, smoothness and fast charging is important for me. Which ever has the best black Friday deals i guess wins.

A55 for me. Best color reproduction. Best premium feels. Best low-light photo. Best battery life. Best all rounder mid-range phone to date.
Hello from Manila! Really enjoy your reviews, mate :) Which one is better for still photos and zooming in on small details? Thank you!
I've been meaning to say this 😅... I'm currently watching this on my A55 🎉
I cant believe it, i really thought about which one to get a second ago! Perfect timing tech thx for helping

Good luck with that..
S23 is a better contender for the price
How is the camera for you compared to redmi?
@@JazilMouton-ji4ik I haven't compared the A55 against this specific Redmi, but it beats out every midrange Xiaomi and Poco I've had, and it's not even close. I don't see the Redmi breaking any new ground.

How much time does it charge from 0 to 50 a nd from 0 to 100? Thanks!

Really love your reviews and anime wallpapers❤❤❤
Im stuck for a mont now choosing between those two phones....Someone help!!!
On the Redmi side :
-i already had xiaomi phone and was actually pleased with it for 4 years now.
-120W charger that comes with a phone
-curved display
8/256 unlike samsungs 8/128
On the Samsung side:
- Its been a while since i had samsung phone
- OS definitely better on Samsung also 4 years of OS updates unlike Xioami 4 (actually 3 ,cause phone comes with android 13 , so as soon as you start it and update it to 14 and new hyper os you are left with 3 years of updates for android)
-Design and aluminium frame
Id like to hear your opinions and help me decide :)
Only 3 major OS updates for redmi (only 2 left since it came with Android 13). But with Xiaomi, you never actually know when will you receive those updates. Even the security updates would come so late
A55 is fantastic looks and performance and the brand name u carry
In case it helps. I bought the A55, and I don't like the screen and I that it's too heavy😢
I'm exactly in your dilemma right now. What did you buy evantually, and why?
What did you buy?
That was very helpful!!! Thank you 🙏

Uncle spurt, where do you get your wallpapers from? I'm intrigued 😭😭😭
Where I live the Xiaomi 13T is cheaper than the 13 Pro+ (just because it got here earlier) and it is a much better device
Yes it is but the pro plus will get cheaper soon.
I don't like a curved screen and big bezel phone anymore
Good review of both phones . Is the back of A 55 plastic or polycarbonate ? Secondly though A 55 has Dolby Atmos support its earpiece doubles as secondary speaker so does that affect clarity and decibel output ? What's the security on the Redmi device as compared to the knox security on the A 55 .Lastly there is no Dolby Vision suport on the Samsung device so is that a deterrent .And most mid rengers are now coming with IP68 or IP69 rating compared to IP67 on the A55 so isn't that a drawback Kindly shed light on these points
The genshin impact gaming test are what keeps mo going back to your videos😭✨
Got a 128gb 8gb ram A55 as secondary phone off Amazon for 260 ,r.i.p to my note 10 lite ,it's an absolute bargain , pretty good for a mid ranger ,runs well ,on the fence about the camera though but is what it is for 260 bucks
Personally I think Samsung has a slitely better camera but Redmi has better sound and battery. Wish I could get everything in one phone 😅
Just got home with the Samsung.. Love it so far and that's all that matters.......isn't it?
finally find this video I need. I bought the redmi note 13 pro 5G but I will get it next month, hope I choose the right choice
How is it going with the Redmi?
Quite easy, where i live i can get the redmi 12gb ram 512 gb storage for the same price as samsung 8gb ram and 256gb storage

Same experience dear I don't want any Xiaomi phone anymore I'd rather choose that Samsung A55
poco user here and the bugs are so many and the update support is crap, currently looking for a new phone to get as my poco just died and I'm going nowhere near xiaomi
I just switched my redmi note 11 pro 5g, because simply everything connected to phone antenna (calls, mobile data) stopped working and was barely usable after restarting each time... it was nice as a fresh phone, but feels like with every update it went worse.

The xiaomi is actually the better buy 🙂
To me xiaomi midrange phones are always better than Samsung's midrange phones, what annoys most people are the pre installed apps on the xiaomi.
Fanboys disagreeeeee!!!! lol
Samsung Is better
What I would love to see is whether you recommend refurbished phones and how they compare to today's new phones. Like let's say a flag ship from a couple of years ago to today mid-range etc.
Love the content and keep up the good work!👍🏻
In a lot of cases, it's more worth to get the 2 year old flagships over the mid rangers, unless software support is something you really value.
@@plumppimpin5138is software support not that important?
I'm due a change. I'm open to new mid rangers/flagships 2nd hand.
I do really like that I can use a memory card in the A55. Love a 3.5mm headphone jack too. There isnt one on the A55. Currently on a S10+
I wish i had a s10+
I want you to know that be thankful for what you have got
@@marksouthwell4490you sure won't regret RN13 pro plus, A55 heats up easily.. like mad hot for not long usage.
I have redmi note 8 but never got any ad from xiaomi... Did they introduce ads in the new xiaomi models?
Good advise regarding screen protector. I have hardly used the wireless charging on my phones. I would not always use the super fast charging. Only for top up. The Redmi is better value, even though I am a Samsung User - S23 Ultra. There some Samsung apps and features that I do use. I am not sure which of these phones I would choose, because I am spoilt by having a flagship phone. Good review.
Redmi has 120w charging with charger in the Box... Samsung destroy... Finish!🤣🤣
And the Redmi got better price with more GB of RAM and Storage👌🏻

Yikes!
Why would you want to watch 4k videos on 1220p screen? 😂
@@markoroncevic 4k is not the problem, don't you see? It is HDR content on 60fps! It lags, even yt videos at 1080p HDR 60fps glitches... A55 looks better

I am considering Samsung over xiaomi is solely bcoz of Software. The software on xiaomi is crap: overheating, glitch, battery draining, lag, auto app close etc.
I owned 2 xiaomi devices so far, and none of them have issues with ANY of those, like literally I have no idea where you are getting that info? lol
sure samsung software feels a little bit better but for the price, you can't beat xiaomi.
Xiaomi screen is gorgeous. Those thick bessels in Samsung are horrible
This made it even harder for me to decide 😂 the fast charging of the Redmi is really handy for me who forgets to charge their phone!
Thanks for giving me full details and differences
I heavily modified my Samsung a52 it out performs the Samsung a54 in speed performance and camera quality and refresh rate i ran alot of adb commands greatly enhancing the phones capabilities without voiding Samsung warranty i also increased the cpu responsiveness ect i did every legal adb command to give the phone the best performance without an increase in battery usage the phone is highly efficient
I even overclocked the refresh rate by 6 hz giving it a smooth 96hz
@jedanedixon1901 how did u do all that ?
I just want to add that there's also byspass charging feature in a55 so you can play games while it's charging
I know it's arguably the same as last year but us consumers who want LED screens as cheap as possible are still here too
My wife has got one. It's a good phone. Bargain. Bought one off Xiaomi £139.00 For normal use it's very good. Don't know about gaming.
I will choose tecno camon 30 premier over both
It really is better over the two when looking for a balance of better performance & camera. Shame that Tecno still doesn't make any moves to increase its software support as Samsung and Xiaomi has done.
Tecno in terms of software does pretty good for it's price, but its OS still needs some work and their software support is shit.
The differences are minimal yet i still dont know which to go for.
I dont game on phones, camera,
sound, watching videos, smoothness and fast charging is important for me.
