  • In this video, I combine still images and dash cam video footage to give you look at the road conditions and incredible scenery found when traveling Ajo Mountain Loop Drive in Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument.
    We took this trip on mid-February afternoon after a desert rain. The rain wetted washed the cactus and rocks making the colors pop. The skies were filled with dramatic clouds casting shadows on the gorgeous Sonoran desert landscape. It was a perfect day for photography!

    We were in this area of AZ last week (February 16-22, 2019). Not just rain...SNOW!!! Along with historic cold temps and road closures. It was our rare getaway from a harsh Wisconsin winter and this is what we got... Worst case scenario! Made the best of it, though. Short hikes, beautiful views of snow-capped Madera and Mount Lemon.... Home in WI and the AZ weather for the forthcoming week is PERFECT. Go figure... :)

      I'm currently working on a review/mod roundup video, 20 updates on products I've reviewed and use. Will be out in a few days.
      This time of year I don't publish as many tech, mods and gadgets vids. This is our big travel time and I like to enjoy the trip. :)

  • @surelyitsshirley9386
    @surelyitsshirley9386 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What's the protocol? ... Are the dirt roads one-way? Not wide enough to two vehicles. What happens if another vehicle is coming in opposite direction, and there's no place to pull over? Who backs up? Sorry for the lesson 101 questions. :) Also, the sites are so beautiful in this video. Love it!!!

    • @LoveYourRV
      @LoveYourRV  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It two-way for the first few miles, then it turns into a one-way loop drive. There are tons of pullouts all along it. :)

    Ray, you might have answered this before but, what all do you use to determine that a road is not safe to travel on. I watch videos & wonder how people get the courage to travel to some places? I would be afraid I would land in a pool of quicksand or a place where you can’t turn around, or...you get the idea. I use maps but, they don’t tell you if people used the road to dump junk that can cause flat tires in the middle of nowhere!

    • @LoveYourRV
      @LoveYourRV  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Word of mouth from recent visitors is usually best and also a good idea is a call or visit to the local BLM, State or National Park office for up to date information. In the end, though, sometimes you just have to take a few risks. :) Cheers, Ray

    Ray..... Thanks for the video. Question... Are trail maps (such as the one in your video )available at a ranger station or welcome center? If not, were did you get them? Be Safe and Be well.

    • @LoveYourRV
      @LoveYourRV  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a great little visitor center here staffed by rangers to help plan hikes and daily shuttles to certain starting points. There is also a few maps online - www.nps.gov/orpi/planyourvisit/maps.htm

    • @LoveYourRV
      @LoveYourRV  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      We have a Verizon MiFi hotspot, T mobile phone, and Tracfone, not sure which carrier it's on. We get 2-3 bars on the Verizon and the Tracfone and nothing on the T mobile. With the cell booster on, we get 5 bars. Decent speeds, I uploaded this video and it was over a gigabyte and it only took about 15 minutes using the Verizon.

    @geebonzo 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I was wondering about using classical music on TH-cam videos. From what I read the orchestra holds the copyright. It's not something you can do, generally. I think most people would be better off not using any music, given what is available.

    • @LoveYourRV

      The music I used is provided by TH-cam to creators, both the tracks were copyright free and no attribution required.
