They should have not done the carbon fiber frame, it's too heavy with or without it. Could have saved probably $1k in MSRP and only added 3-4lbs in weight. 77lb or 81lb is not a huge difference but if this came in $1k cheaper it's definitely a compelling bike🤷

Regarding the brakes, at 4:51 you can see that the brake pads are not coming into complete contact with the rotors. Grinding down the post mount adaptor about 8 mm should resolve this and greatly improve braking performance. As this is a prototype bike, perhaps they have resolved this on their production model. Doing a review on a pre-production model seems like a waste for you (EBR), Hey Bike ("trust us"?) and us, the viewers. None of us know much about this except what's on paper until you get a finished product.
I ended up getting a refund for my preorder. Company is dragging and the more I see about it, the more I realize it's not worth it. No fenders kind of blew me...but there's more than that.
Not a very useful review. All the caveats about being a pre-production model that the company assures will be fixed raise too many flags on which to base a purchase. I would be interested to see a review of an actual model that ships to the public, particularly with the mid-drive option. I was excited to see the previews earlier this year and almost put $500 down in the kickstarter campaign to reserve a better price. At this point I’m glad I did not.

Just a marketing gimmick.
I'm confused as to why Heybike didn't wait to just give you guys a final product to test instead of this preproduction version.
Mainly the only difference is going to be the screen it will be built in the handlebar

Typically if we get pree-production models they end up being 95%+ the same. This one could be different than most though for sure.
