I believe Fernanda will get the nomination, but the victory is basically impossible. Demi Moore will probably get it. Her Golden Globe and the whole narrative around her have probably shot her up in the race.
Golden Globes don't set as much precedence to the Oscars as they used to. The Hollywood foreign press association bought the Golden Globes and now they are their own separate Awards body with almost no relation to the Oscars anymore, it's very evident with the SAG award nominations and how much they favor a complete unknown and Wicked over Emilia Perez and The Brutalist. It's going to be in everything everywhere all at once. Scenario where Wicked actually sweeps the screen actors Guild Awards after it does well a critic's choice. Either it doesn't do well at Critics choice and does well at sag or only does well at sag and that sets precedence for its oscar wins like some films have done.
Maybe, but that's what makes it so exciting! To not have Golden Globe winners at least be nominated would be interesting, and to not have SAG be as much of a defining force would also be interesting.
"You just can't ignore Denzel" - well, you can, as shown by SAG! And BAFTA has been doing it since forever, and likely will continue. You're blatantly wrong about people not liking The Apprentice or not wanting to nominate actors from it. That has only been true of US based critics. It makes no sense to push Sebastian Stan in A Different Man rather than The Apprentice. If he does that, he'll split the votes again, as he probably did at SAG, and miss the Oscar nomination. Jeremy Strong got nominated for SAG, where Stan likely split votes, both of them were nominated for Globes, and both are on BAFTA longlists where The Apprentice has 6 nods including best film, screenplay, casting and makeup & hair, so they will both probably be nominated there. Jeremy will likely get nominated for Oscar, too, and Sebastian only has a chance if he stops splitting his votes, which will only happen if he pushes only for The Apprentice. A 24 hasn't been pushing for A Different Man anyway. They don't care. It's all been the actors and director.
Yeah. I should have gone for Sebastian Stan in The Apprentice instead. Regardless, now with the BAFTA's not nominating Daniel Craig, I'm very interested to see if he still makes the Oscars or if they go for Sebastian.
I don't think it will 100% get shut out. Even if it has a terrible showing (no Best Picture, no Director, etc.), I still think it has Demi Moore locked for Best Actress and the nomination for Makeup and Hairstyling. At this point in time, I would be shocked if it didn't at the very least get these two nominations.
Movies about fake architects is an abomination, no vote for brutalist. Substance is a horror flick, band demi acting is minimal, this one is out. Baby girl is soft porno. Dune is great . Conclave, not interested in petty problems, good leaders don't fret so much. The Dylan movie is superficial, the movie is more about Joan baex

Dune 2, Gladiator 2, and Nosfera 2
lol I heard that too. It wasn't intentional, but it was funny.

Do you think The Substance might get shut out since one nomination at The SAG and no DGA nom for Coralie?

Emilia Perez
u give way too much credit to the golden globes. Anora is the clear frontrunner, and an editing snub would be SHOCKING.
After the SAG award nominations, I thought the same thing. Still, I like to take some wild swings here and there, so I'll stick with my choices.
@@AlexandreFilho1705 anora is no sense

So, what's left to nominate?
