worth noting that wallace and gromit is 100% win competitive at the very least - it is hugely popular over here and is undefeated at BAFTAs in the past
It has been, but both of those won at the Oscar.... at least to me VMF will not this time... Maybe it win's family film, but Flow v Wild Robot is the battle in animated - D
Does Anora, The Apprentice, A Complete Unknown and Conclave getting the Casting nomination but The Brutalist, Emilia Perez and Wicked missing indicate something about the potential acting winners here and /or potential acting Oscar nominations, or is just about other things such as casting unknowns or relative unknowns (Anora, Carlos Diehz in Conclave) or casting widely known public figures (The Apprentice, A Complete Unknown)?
To me... history has shown that 4/5 years of this category has lead to an acting win at BAFTA... so Timmy & Mikey's (maybe even Fiennes but I doubt) odds get better with the corresponding Casting nomination. The one year we didn't have overlap Rocks won over Judas which did win an acting award. So all 5 years at least one acting winner had their film in Casting - D

@ fair point i just think it should at least be in the conversation bc you can’t underestimate it’s influence imo!
I think no. 6 in directing is Villeneuve.
I hope he sneaks in at the Oscar - D
I only now realized that Nosferatu got 5 out of 5 it was shortlisted for! (ETA: or longlisted, I guess)
Count Orlok is coming for those Oscar noms - D

The casting category is selected by a jury.
@@omarortiz2797 Where does it say that?
