Malakai is a product of the British choir tradition, both Anglican and Roman Catholic. I had the pleasure of learning from Barry Rose when he came over to work on our choir for a festival. The British take it Seriously.

And of course there's the ugly side of history for boys who could sing like Malakai . The Castrados, young boys who were castrated in order to preserve their pure voice. I'm so glad that that practice fell out of style and I'm surprising would now be illegal in today's world.
I have NEVER heard this "Song" before but it sounds to me it is just a lot of screaming and it is obvious the kid has not yet grown a pair to sing like that, I will wait to pass judgement when I hear Lucy and Martha sing it !!!
I strongly recommend doing Malakai's other two performances. He's just THAT GOOD. Also check his main competition, Olivia Lynes. She sings more in the West End/Broadway tradition, but she has an outstanding voice, too. It was a total injustice to both of them that they didn't make the final 3. One of them should have won. The guy who did was a total joke.
Both my singing teachers told me that I can hit the high and low. I sing the bass with no problem. I am just very shy in my singing, so I am always hiding. I am a woman

The sad thing is it will go away. I used to hit a high c now I'm a bass.
