Nice, typical mods but good for the ones who will typically buy this rig. It got a lot of negative attention but the Base Camp is truly capable of bigger things! Thanks for the video! 👍
THANKYOU for sharing this GREAT information SIR. I REALLY LIKE THE base camp GREAT TRUCK to start your crawling experience. With the upgrades you shared will have a AMAZING TRUCK THANKYOU 🇬🇧🇺🇲🇨🇦🕊️✌🏼
I heard that you guys have been invited to join in on a mayhem project with a couple other guys on the tube. I hope your 'tentative' reply becomes an affirmative reply. Seems that would be highly enjoyable.
Enjoy the vids on the basecamp Francis. Right now by far my favorite crawler and one of the best performers also for sure! Where did u get the high clearance links from? Haven’t found a decent set yet for it. Thanks and keep up the good work sir. 👍
so new to this so learning by watching.....just got the Basecamp, so I'd like to know which 3 mods to do first if you could only do 3......had a LHS tell me, battery up front, Servo and Tires....and for just a bit more the brass, behind wheels, and maybe front diff cover??......others can answer too.....
The problem is you said "Axial stuck to what they're good at" Out of the box it needs a new panhard/servo horn, the body rubs, and the bumper rubs. It's almost like they never even tested the vehicle.
How did you get your bead lock wheels over the portal cover. I have tried the standard wheels and the rub on the portal cover. How did you do it? This is my first axial product. Is there a hex extender?
Sorry didn't pick this up if you mentioned in the video. Per the links you are running the Torquemaster BR mini esc and the Revolver Snubnose 540 brushless motor is that correct? Obviously from the running video the Torquemaster BR mini brushed esc can run a brushless motor, is that correct?
Thanks for all. the tips. I think the designers of the truck kept the old coach's slogan in mind. K.I.S.S., which means keep it simple stupid. They are obviously not stupid.
Axial must have fixed the body rubbing on the tires. I just got one and on it's first run it didn't rub at all. But the wheelbase is also closer to 12 inches instead of 12.3...
@@RCReviewChannel I got a set of regular 10.3 links and thought something must have been different between the skids because the links are different lengths. This evening I plan to put the regular 10.3 links on it to see if the wheelbase is 12.3. If it's 12.3 and the tires rub then I'll know axial shortened the wheelbase to fix the rubbing
Like you bought a 400$ crawler and spent another 400-500$ on it? What's your point here. Like if you spend that money on literally any crawler you will make a capable machine
Do you actually own a base camp? I have both the base camp and trx4 sport, the rtr tires on most crawlers leave a lot to be desired……the trx4 is top heavy and a heavy truck all around…….put decent tires and dual stage foams on both and weight placement comes into play…….the base camp also has more ground clearance
Kinda does what the Element Enduro did, but a little better with the latest electronics. Plus it's an Axial...mods galore!
Exactly. Lots of possibilities for this one

Yes, nothing unusual here except for the free mods that are unique to this vehicle.
Can we see how you locate your servo and fix the steering problem? Great video as always 👌👌
Lmk if you find anything!

Yes, with them as we did this vehicle is like a high end crawler now.
@@RCReviewChannel TOTALLY AGREE 👍🏼
GREAT CHANNEL THANKS FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO FOR THIS GREAT HOBBY OF OURS 🇬🇧🇺🇲🕊️✌🏼👍🏼🤙🏼
Can you make a video on how you fixed the steering?
Hope Axial will offer a kit version without the cheap rtr electrics body and tires.
That is a bad idea. I’m sure they will make a builders kit out of it but hopefully sooner rather than later
I heard that you guys have been invited to join in on a mayhem project with a couple other guys on the tube. I hope your 'tentative' reply becomes an affirmative reply. Seems that would be highly enjoyable.
Yeah, we were invited and we accepted ted conditionally. We will do everything we can to make it happen and add the party to the group.
Thanks Francis! Always a good time and good information.
I like what you said there will is good time. We were just enjoying the day and we learned a lot along the way.
Messed around with both, I still think the trx sport with the bumpers removed performs better out the box, at least in my terrain.

could u please do a video how u relocate the server for the steering. please! so many people are looking for it.
This brushed esc you linked, works with brushless motor?
Or did I miss something?🙂
Yes I'm a question about that too. That's a brushed ESC he links
Good useful information this might be the one to go to for a good performance built machine
I think so. It beat the fabled TRX four in our one on one shoot out

Excellent video as always.
Thanks a ton. All in a fun days work.
Can you just move the steering servo over a mounting whole and shorten the linkage? Or would that effect suspension flex at all?
The problem is you said "Axial stuck to what they're good at"
Out of the box it needs a new panhard/servo horn, the body rubs, and the bumper rubs. It's almost like they never even tested the vehicle.
True, they are far from perfect. He’s a great day called but looks like they rushed some of the details
Great footage!
What is your mountain bike channel again?
How did you get your bead lock wheels over the portal cover. I have tried the standard wheels and the rub on the portal cover. How did you do it? This is my first axial product. Is there a hex extender?
I have a realy important question what heads are on the links
Any hints on location?

Can you install a Basecamp transmission on a scx10iii?

Simple machines are what axial excels at. Folks love them as a building block for Gratrix.
Axial must have fixed the body rubbing on the tires. I just got one and on it's first run it didn't rub at all. But the wheelbase is also closer to 12 inches instead of 12.3...
Really? Thank you for the information. I will definitely measure ours today.

Ehhh. Cant agree with you there about the stock esc. I think its a great spektrum unit. Its done everything ive asked of it
Nice axial BC bro🤩👍🏾(BC=Basecamp)
I get so much twitch from my AFGRC 45, run directly to the 3s
Sorry to hear that. That is not normal. Affect make servos for some of the highest end brands around.
I wonder how many viewers seen those holes 🕳 in the rock 🪨 and were like …I’m out ! Lol
Nice 👍
Jut put 50wt shock oil in as per your pervious vids :(
These crawlers are $600+ not as cheap round here aha
Like you bought a 400$ crawler and spent another 400-500$ on it? What's your point here. Like if you spend that money on literally any crawler you will make a capable machine
Like
Man.. all those upgrades and your at another 1000$
Ya I don't know..
There is a reason you use a cheap-ass body on your first crawler, not a 100 hr scale build. Gravity.
And 3d printed foams are the way of the future.... I can't stand regular foams anymore.... if they're not antifoams I don't want them
Mod #1. Don’t buy it. Get a trx4 At least you can run it with factory tires. Axial is junk with over priced parts
Come on Gregor, tell us how you really feel 🤣
We did a shoot out between this and the trx4 four, backstock, and dish base camp won
@@themountain59 Fan boy maybe. But for what axial charges. They should have decent tires on em like the trx
