Hot Robot 2 came out and I guess I was just too busy pushing the world away to even notice a glorious franchise had been born. But after my most recent bout of depression ebbed, I saw a trailer for Hot Robot 3 and it literally changed everything for me. I realized that I'd been missing out on life, letting the greatest things slip by while I just sat there, wallowing in my depression. For me, the Journey to Boob Mountain was like recapturing my lost child hood... conquering the abuse and looking past the cigarette burns and brain damage from repeated head trauma. Watching the truest love unfold between a robot from Sweden and a nerd, well it just took my heart and squeezed it. It's the kind of love I've always wished for. Dude, give it a break, everyone knows that "Hot Robot" was nothing more than a whitewashed version of Toshiro Mifune's 1965 classic film "Sanshiro Sugata"
I think the movie deserves a rewatch. It's obvious that it was made in a very politically charged and traumatic environment, and viewing it within the lens of a post-Trump society, as a modern work of touching melodrama with a touch of acerbic wit. It doesn't match the optimism and enthusiasm of the plots from the first two Hot Robots, written and produced during the nadir of the Obama administration, but that doesn't diminish from the story they're trying to tell. Artists and creators should be free to experiment and speak their mind. Andy Perkins' brilliant screenplay and bold directorial choices are a boon, not a hindrance, to the different tone set forth by Hot Robot 3: Journey to Boob Mountain. And the chemistry between Hot Robot and Skidmark has never been better. Witwer and Stevens are masters of their craft and every scene, either at its zaniest or its somberist, is made all the more better by these two brilliant performers. I see the flaws in Hot Robot 3: Journey to Boob Mountain. They're not numerous, but they are there. Skidmark is much quieter and has a somewhat shorter libido. Hot Robot doesn't explore her bisexuality nearly as much as one would expect. But, again, we were spoiled by the first two brilliant installments. This isn't entertainment. This is a sobering wake-up call that, like Skidmark, Tweezer, and the gang, we can't just mope around all day. We need to be more active, climb that mountain, and pick up some Hot Robot tail.
Hot Robot 3 is an iconic representation of the post election zeitgeist. "Journey to Boob Mountain" singular! It's about the difficult choice of having to choose only one. So profound. I can't wait for the reboot this Summer.

I watched HR3:J2BM when it came out. It was an amazing, satisfying and emotional conclusion to a wonderful trilogy of films.
