thanks for this comparison video. We here in the US get even less than the Aus version. In terms of best features, my list would be 1. UK 2. AUS 3. USA we in Reg A get no slip cover or J card, no marketing pamphlet, no disc breakdown booklet.
As a resident here in the UK I buy my Doctor Who's from HMV and preorder them as soon as they are available for preorder. Hmv always send me an email about the season limited edition with photos about the upcoming boxset. I log on straight away and order my copy and choose to pay for it in installments through Klarna. Hmv will take the first payment from Klarna and despatch my boxset by royal mail. Royal mail sends me a delivery date and time so that I make sure that I will be at home to receive it. The next Dr Who boxset will be Season 20 and the release date is 18th September 2023. Can't wait.
I mean I love having the limited edition UK version. But tbf the Australian version’s pretty damn good. They’re a lot more compact and seem easier to maintain. Whilst the J card and massive size of the UK versions can be quite a faff around.
@@40somethingmanchild can't switch now I already have the whole lot in limited edition, plus I prefer the bigger boxes and the lack of the blu ray banner at the top
@@ennayanne That's fair enough. I get that. Space is a premium for me too though. I also feel the standard's packaging is more robust. But again just my opinion. I have limited editions, but I tend to sell them once the standards are released.
To be fair, Season 12 Australian edition is identical to the U.K. edition. This was because ROADSHOW was responsible for the Aussie Season 12 release in Australia, although with a J-card having the Aussie rating stamp. THE REASON things went haywire after Season 12 is because UNIVERSAL took over Australian distribution after Season 12 (or it may have been 19). Universal, although having better pressing facilities, were not prepared to import/manufacture the sets to same specifications as the U.K. Personally, I import the UK editions from Amazon UK - bearing in mind I have them shipped to an intermediary repacking facility in Preston UK, then shipped DHL. I order in 6 copies for each release, and list 5 on eBay cheaper than any other seller in Australia
It's disappointing that they then didn't re-release Seasons 12 and 19 in the 'new' simplified packaging. A collection of purely Australian sets will forever have inconsistencies 😕
Live in Australia but always get the UK versions. Thankfully my mum posts them over for me.
That's awesome!

For once, I may actually be proud to be British! I feel for you guys. Renaming the seasons is just bizarre too.
It's interesting to see the difference between Blu-ray edition's. 👍
It's such a shame that the australian version loses the tardis foldout and this is why im collecting the uk boxset collection!!
Same, the UK set is so much better than Australia's
Love the in-depth comparison, always wondered how the Australian versions compared :)
Thanks :)

Aye the Australian version is a bit smaller and easier to use, but the Lee Binding TARDIS art it loses is a big shame.
Subbed my man...this was terrific!
Thanks!
man I wish we got the sleeves that you guys did. the floppy J cards we get in the UK are too flimsy
I would agree. And that's why I replace mine with Standard Editions asap!

I only got the UK releases for 22 and 23 since my OCD went haywire with the realization
Very satisfying to have matching sets
@@TempusWare it's the best thing to look at. It's matching pair's of socks all over again.
Where do you get the UK versions for aus?
The UK versions can be bought from eBay, Amazon, or Rarewaves.
@@TempusWare ah ok cheers :)
