    I got the Proton Physix and I love this ball. Granted, you need to be able to get it down lane quickly and I finally feel like I don't need a soft hand to get the ball to hook.

    IMO the Proton reads early friction quicker than the Reality but not necessarily earlier in the oil.

      Other strong pieces will work just make sure you have enough surface to get the ball to check and carve a path. Just watch out for the ball getting tired by the time it gets to the pins. Then switch to the next strongest ball you have with a little less surface and follow the groove. Before I hade these I went 500 grit on the surelock through practice and a little into game one then dropped to a phaze II at 1000 followed by a strong hybrid or pearl. Good luck!

    How'd you like the crux prime? Or even UFO

    • @oraclebowlingcompany7279
      @oraclebowlingcompany7279  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For me I saw the UFO needing to be played straighter which is not usually my game. I left a lot of corner pins as I opened up the lane with it. I was much more successful shaping my Sure Lock. However, I’ve drilled many UFOs for people who needed more hook and played straighter who are killing it with it. Including one bowler who’s average has gone up 10 pins and has had their first 299 and 300 game with it. The Crux Prime is in my bags I really like it in the right situation. For me it fits as a 1 ball on 45’+ feet of sport shot oil with 500 or 1000 surface to carve the path. It also fits as a burn ball for very deep left 3000 to 4000 surface or lane shined. After throwing these it will probably not be a 1 ball anymore, if I can get this much consistency in ball motion with less surface the ball will have a lower chance of burning up and being weak through the pins.

      The Proton is just as good, but the Reality is the one making the waves right now, for some reason. I guess because the Proton is just SO strong and so early.

    • @ricog2343
      @ricog2343 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Tcrror one handed i like the proton better. two handed reality. i just can't generate enough speed AND control accuracy with the proton unless its super heavy oil when im two handed. i am transitioning to two handed for strikes though and been getting better weekly. but one handed i def like the stronger the better. i will say this. the zen is worth the hype. its forgiveable and you can use it any which way.

    What would be a good ball for a heavy oiled lanes

    • @eoghainlebioda1396
      @eoghainlebioda1396 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Any of those three balls would be perfect for heavy oil.
      You need a strong coverstock for your ball to slow down in the right part of the lane. A strong core will help it slow down earlier too so these balls would be ideal for when you play on fresh, but as the oil pattern breaks down you will need to move in. The strong core in these balls will make them hook very early and be smooth so you will start leaving corner pins as you move in too far.
      When you start to leave the corner pins (normal a lack of entry angle), move to something with a strong cover and strong symmetrical core like an Axiom. The Axiom will hook slightly later and give you more entry angle to compensate for the steeper angles you're using in the front part of the lane.
      Hope this is helpful :)

    @FSUSean2112 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    very nice, i am looking for a strong asym ball that i can use for the heavy shots for tournaments or just that one random day where alot of oil is just farther down and need a more aggressive hook, i got my nuke cell but i just couldn't get it to hook enough on a heavy shot but it is polished and i am getting some 2000 pads and ill try to see if 2000 aberlon was all i needed but honestly i dont think i can use the nuke as my main tank that i can use on a big part of tournaments and be good. I mean i could and just dull it out and put 2000 or 1000 on it and go from there but idk, that's y for a solid or hybrid tank i am looking at the proton, and the reality but also the RST X-1, but also if i can find it the Storm Gravity Evolve. any other ball in the Storm/Roto Grip/900 Global that i can look up or something? my rev rate is 410. i do know about the UFO Alert that will be out in june.

    • @mikecurtis3694
      @mikecurtis3694 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The RSTX-1 at 500/1500 would be great on the longer oil pattern, bow finish at 3000 won't cut it

    I wonder how much of the difference with the Sure Lock is just age. Even if it had zero games and you punched it up for this video, these things outgas over time (I think) and lose some of what makes them soakers. Could just be progression in coverstock development too.

    • @joshstreak5828
      @joshstreak5828 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I definitely agree with you the stronger balls have more reaction to lose but there has also been a lot of coverstock development as well.

    • @oraclebowlingcompany7279
      @oraclebowlingcompany7279  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There is definitely some amazing cover stock progression at work here as well. One reason for using the 2017 version of the badger pattern is i drilled my first Sure Lock for that pattern specifically, I was bowling in a tournament on it. I ended up having to run the Sure Lock at 500 grit just to get it to move until the lanes burned up a spot, then downed a ball because the surface was too much. As far as I can remember it was similar to how it reacted in the video until I roughed it up some more, nothing hooked for the first game or so.

      Was the Sure lock a fresh newly drilled ball like the reality ant the proton was.....if it was a brand new sure lock it would have done just as good if not even stronger. The original Lock is stronger than all of them.

  • @bartolomy01

    This is more of a long pattern not heavy oil. Corner pins all day long as the balls would not have much energy to carry. Very hard to strike but like an absolute type of ball would work better
