    Wow Luke, that explanation/demonstration just blew my mind. I've similar concerns with the back end reactions of asyms, and this video was simply the best I've ever seen on the subject. Can't thank you enough for the work you've put into this one. Sealed the deal for me on the Absolute as well, looks to be exactly the package I've been searching for. /salute!

    I love your reviews and classroom video's. I can honestly say that I have learned a LOT! I am a left-hander, women with slower speed so I have realized that I have to be particular about what balls I have in my arsenal, by looking at your videos I have learned a lot pertaining to ball motion, building an arsenal, how the ball should exist off the pin deck etc. I started bowling in my early 20's and I learned to bowl on wood lanes where you have to "turn" the ball and hit up on it. The game is totally different now and your video's have really educated me. I am trying to become a better bowler and be more consistent.

    I’m not consistent enough to have all the balls I’d want, since I’m just bowling in a league. I also am JUST starting to see phases of my ball motion because my eye is not as trained as many other people. A more experienced teammate is helping me with that. I’m still able to make adjustments because I’m seeing the larger picture of movement without seeing all the minutiae. I love that you explain that minutiae because it will assist me in watching for the smaller details of my ball on the lane. I’ve got 4 balls right now (including a dedicated spare ball), but I only carry 3 to league (Incite, Rubicon UC3 are in the bag right now - the MVP Attitude is on the sideline for now). I’m actually looking at adding the Revenant for late use or if I want to close my angles a little bit. I feel like I’m shooting in the dark, though, because of my lack of knowledge. I just see certain balls (usually after many views of your reviews) as fitting me and the conditions I bowl on. I’m a mess, Luke. 😂

      This is something I’ve experienced for myself and it may be different to others but playing up the boards is something you need to learn how to do and it isn’t just about which ball you have. I have around 375-425 revs (mid to high rev rate or how much you spin the ball) and I have an easier time up the boards with a burner than with a phaze 3 but also if I let the burner read and get a handful of it it can hook too.

    I bowled on chromium this weekend here at a tournament in orlando! I used my reality check games 3 and 4, and it gave me a very good look at pocket compared to others on my pair. I had a lot of miss room for a challenge pattern. I found my dark moss wolverine to be a very good transition down once the check started reading too early and/or losing that motion. Great video!

    Great video, Luke! As a two hander, I have issues with most Asyms for some reason. My IP is my weakest ball as it seems to roll out no matter what I do. I've tried a couple of layouts on it and played with the cover multiple ways. It makes a great straight ball for me which is sad in a way. The Night Road with the same cover and out of box finish will hook the entire lane.

    • @LukeRosdahl
      @LukeRosdahl  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well asyms are generally used by people with higher speed or lower rev rates to kind of make up for the revs or power they don't have. As a two hander, you already have plenty of power to work with. Like I mentioned in this video, it's probably just locking up because it's doing too much too soon.

    I have been really enjoying your videos on the Absolute. I have been debating if I want to get one or an Infinite Physix. I am just a league bowler on a house shot on AMF synthetic lanes that are probably about 25 years old. My speed is only around 15 mph off the hand with 330 revs 10 axis tilt 40 rotation. I'd like to stick with a 1-2 punch and a spare ball. I currently roll a symmetrical ball from another brand that has a weak core and strong cover. It does well enough but people around the league have told me I would be better with an asym to take advantage of the free hook on a THS. The PSO told me he feels the Absolute would be amazing, he said the Infinite would def be a good choice be he felt the Absolute would be better and compliment the Symmetrical more.
    Do you feel that the Absolute would be a good choice based on my stats to be a first ball choice on a THS or would the Infinite be the better choice or maybe neither and I should be looking in another direction? Love the reviews and all the information you provide!

    • @LukeRosdahl
      @LukeRosdahl  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah based on what you say I think the Absolute would be the better choice. The Infinite has been discontinued already and is in demand, so unless your shop happens to have one, it'd be somewhat tough and not cheap to find at this point anyway.

    • @EKBBQ2358
      @EKBBQ2358 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@LukeRosdahl I appreciate the reply! The PS has both and I can get them either at the same price. I do feel with my slower speed the Absolute would push further and that might be more helpful for me. I feel with my slower speed, lower revs that some of the stronger solid coverstocks just may not fit my game much, that they probably will be too early in most cases. I felt a hybrid cover would be most versatile but in the SPI right now hybrid option seem lacking.

    • @LukeRosdahl

    Which one do you think is gonna be more versatile

    • @LukeRosdahl
      @LukeRosdahl  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the Absolute is, just because it goes left to right easier, and because it's a more average strength. The strength and sharpness of the Check keeps it out of some situations, and depending on your game, it might be limited to a couple specific zones. As odd as it may sound though, if I had the choice between taking one or the other, not knowing what I was bowling on, I'd take the Check. I think the more naturally versatile ball is the Absolute, but the more versatile the bowler is, the more versatile the Check will be.

    I bowl a once a month "fun" league with the lady and a couple friends. Lanes are pretty crumby because there is open bowling all day. Started out with phaze2 in practice for a few shots and then the 1st couple frames but the ball didn't look real good going thru the pins. So I switched to my dark code. Ball was great for the rest of that game and then the whole 2nd game. Shot 215. But then the 3rd game as I got probably too far left the ball just wouldn't make the corner anymore. Fought with it for a few frames then switched to the idol cosmos problem solved. What would you consider the problem I was having to be?

    • @LukeRosdahl
      @LukeRosdahl  ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably locking up, the Dark Code has a REALLY strong core, so it likes straighter angles better, or at least not super wide open ones. The Cosmos has virtually the same cover on it, it's just that the core is rolly and doesn't have the asymmetry to make it more forward.
