@@AutotopiaLA Visit some of the Hi roller collectors, with too much money and too little time to spend it. Start with the Happy Hippy. He has heaps of muscle cars and exotics. Someone already does the mysterious "The Brothers" collection....whoever they are? Lots of old Nascar collectors etc out there. Lots of rich car people in the USA/North America....as you well know. They are all getting older, who knows what will happen to these collections in the next 20 years.
50 years from now restomods like this will be the sought after unicorns that collectors will be opting for.

I’m thinking he really meant to say “Petty Blue”… I grew up in a Chrysler Corp. family all through the 60’s-80’s and have never heard that color called “Pretty” blue. Great story about how the Petty family came up with the color in the beginning, and then continued to use it.

Normally I’m not fond of resto mods but this one is very tastefully done without compromising the looks much. You wouldn’t know it’s been done until you either get up close or until someone starts it up and you you hear it sing. Extremely well done 👍👍

The perfect Road Runner. Tasteful, quality build that you can drive to Vegas and back for the weekend (a lot of gas station stops :). And that stance! 🔥

This is a dream machine. They did it up. So clean and solid looking. When you nailed the car always behaved like it was 300 hp. The sound was mechanical music. I thought you did a great job riding alone and showing the car. It stayed so planted for 900 hp. The length of the car and width probably help keep it stable. The only thing missing was the pistol grip shifter..lol. That trans really did a nice job keeping things going smoothly. Definitely made my day great job best car channel ever!!!!!

Obviously there is no way in this lifetime I'd even get near this car but the Plymouth super bird is my most favorite and coveted vehicle of all time.

Wow that’s beautiful. Love the Petty blue. And the wheels are simple yet gorgeous. I love everything about it except that silly little Dodge “shifter” puck turns knob thing. If it has paddle shifters that would help, but to me no paddles no bueno.
But overall badass car.
This Restomod was done right. New MOPAR parts is always a good thing. May not be numbers matching, but at least it's "Genuine" MOPAR parts.
I love the Superbird it's built to drive everyday and it's beautiful it's the way they should have been awesome job
So little visually changed in or out, but totally different mechanicals. To me, the perfect interpretation of a restomod. I may have went for a manual, but the 8 speed is a very good choice for an auto.

Beautiful car. Tastefully done just right. The sound is awesome! It would be interesting to see a quarter mile time and top speed reading. When I was five my mom worked for a Chrysler dealer. There were five of these lined up in different colors. Brand new! Being a kid I loved them. But the dealer basically couldn't give them away. He offered my dad a great deal on one for him to trade his 69' Road Runner. Dad didn't want one either..

I have only one complaint about this restomod. The transmission shouldn't have a rotary gear change knob from a Chrysler 300. It should have a a pistol grip shift lever like the Dodge Challengers/Plymouth Road Runners. Other than that, this is a great car!!!

I love B -body Mopars but I’ve never really cared for the wing cars. This is an incredible build though. True craftsmanship.
I’ve always loved the crazy massive wing and that long pointed nose. But mostly I love how flawless the drive was in this one
Wow! Builders after my own heart, as I’m wanting to do the DSR 1500 (Hellcat-type Gen 3 Hemi) for my General Lee restomod! Love the build: great colors, genuine Superbird, Hellcat drivetrain, etc. What’s not to love! Thanks for featuring this one! One of the things I’m going to do differently is the shifter: this build features the turn-knob shift like my Chrysler 300S with the Hemi. I’m going to have the same type transmission they use here but have the shifter handle and boot from a modern Challenger and have the boot dyed tan to match the rest of my interior 😀. Sorry for rambling, I just LOVE this build!
Please do not go this guy's route with replacing the iconic shifter, with a "modern OEM" automatic shifter.... nobody is saying it, but it looks terrible, leave the stock shifter mounted to the new stuff, keep it classy, keep it classic, in both your cases, you should've been putting the manual "pistol grip" shifter on the automatic if you guys wanted to change the long armed ball automatic shifter if anything.
@@johnnygeorgopoulos4072 I actually prefer the stock automatic shifter from the 1969 Dodge Charger, but from what I understand it doesn’t play well at all with the modern automatics. If there’s a way to do it then I will. If not, maybe I can have one made 🤷♂️ As of my current research into the issue the best option seems to be modifying a modern Dodge Challenger shifter and dying to boot tan to match the interior. We’ll see though when the time comes. I like having more of the classic look too, so I totally get where you’re coming from!

You need to film it on an oval at speed, full bore, wide open. That's when it is in it's element.

This build was done right and love they kept a original Superbird Look and everything else is State of the Art - Modern
This Superbird is probably the only one in the world that could actually come close to the mystical 200 mph Buddy Baker flew to at Talladega. I would take this over a stock #1 Superbird any day.
thats funny none of the winged mopars, including bakers 200 mph Daytona was as Fast as Cales Mercury at either Daytona race.

Yeah, there is nothing I woulda changed about that car. I might add some shift paddles that look vintage Mopar.... but that's it. The color is right on. The decals are right on. The interior is clean, but not trying to be something it doesn't have to be. The drivetrain, on point. The wheels, yeah those are pretty unique. Bravo Salvaggio, Bravo.

What a jaw dropping car. I love resto mods. The nicest resto mod ever built. Is the Michael Myers roadrunner. That car blows my mind.
I absolutely LOVE almost every angle on this car. Admittedly I’m a bit of a purist on original special edition kinda rides like a Superbird, but I damn sure wouldn’t stick my nose up at it.
Only thing I’ve gotta say I’m not a fan of Magnaflow pipes, but it would be pretty hard to fuck up the sound of a built Demon/Hellcat motor like that!

Mopar power !!!! Plymouth Superbird & the Charger Daytona have always been my favourite American Muscle cars , doesn't matter that it's not fully original there's enough of those out there, this one in particular is the best it could ever be, I love it.

That is one Super Awesome build and I am glad the guy took the initiative and went the way he did. Also, I like the way he painted the roof as all Superbirds have the Vinyl top which honestly doesn't look that good. Keep up the great work Sean.
Correct. They put vinyl roofs on all of them as it was far less expensive than repairing the roof metal work affected by the flush mount rear windows.
Agreed on losing that vinyl and painting it all. Looks and drives great and that whine…great car!

In '69 Pete Hamilton won lots of races on the Baby Grand circuit in Camaros prepared at Gene White Firestone in Atlanta. Then in '70 he joined the Pettys and won the Daytona 500 in a Plymouth Superbird. Epic.
You know how I feel about things when it comes to the average car person and their cars. That is all thrown out the door when a builder gets a project of their own. The entire thing from the reason to the actual car to the final product. I can't care about the rarity of a car as they were designed to drive, letting them sit is the worst sin. Taking an iconic car and updating it to the standard it should hold. The super bird was always a race car first. This build only honors the spirit of the original. Awesome build.

I don't like Superbird restomods so much but this one is maybe the coolest I've ever seen. Corporation Blue is always the top paint for Plymouth Superbird and that interior is beautifully simple. I would call this car "Superhellbird"!😎

I’ve always loved these but this one is so well built you could drive it daily. Fox body is finally close to getting built. Been a long wait but we’ve got almost everything we need to get it built finally
