Very very fair overview. As a game in its own right, it’s ok. Maybe even a 7/10. When set against what was actually promised (and hyped), it a 4/10 at best. The flaws are awful, but there are same moments, here and there, that I really enjoyed. It’s just a lot of grinding to get to them.
I haven't played Fallout but I have played Skyrim and Oblivion. 'Ignoring the main quest' is basically a feature of Bethesda games at this point. Seems like a simple meal well made, but they haven't added any spices yet. Thankfully for it, the community surrounding Bethesda will make mods for Starfield that will radically shift the experience into one of "Why won't the game run with all these mods?" And then we'll get another Skyrim re-release, and maybe afterwords we'll get Elder Scrolls 6. Maybe.
I thought the walking around, mining, and ship building was pretty fun for the most part, but that's not really what keeps me in a Bethesda game, it's the locations and characters, both of which are gone or extremely dumbed down in Starfield. I'm glad i tried it on game pass instead of buying it, because imo it's the worst game Bethesda's ever made in the spot that it's in atm.
Played a bit of Skyrim but didn't really understand it, never played fallout. I've been enjoying Starfield a lot and now understand why people loved Skyrim and Fallout. Though I am not really a fan of the ending of the main quest.
@@hey_its_fox I was convinced that they wouldn't actually do what they were heavily suggesting they would do, and unfortunately it auto saves right after you go through so I wasn't able to go back.
I think you nailed it when you said that as a new comer to the bethesdaverse, this was great. And Shipbuilding is also my favorite part. My only struggle is how bugged it is. I don't mind silly AI or ragdolls at all but bugged quests or outposts that recquire you to throw hours of playtime through the window to get back to a safe save file is pretty annoying to say the least
I know I will have fun with it but I think I'm in the wait for a discount camp.

I hope they take an honest look at the feedback because this game makes me worried for TES6
@hey_its_fox same, but so far it looks like gaslighting us into thinking we're the problem is their path forward lmao
Truly one of the games of all time
The writing is written. The quests are there. The combat uses guns. The ship can be built. Or not, if you have better things to do.
Haven't played skyrim or fallout but watching this makes me want to play starfield. Hilarious 😂😂😂

there's an ending?

I have played none of those games. Thank you for the unbiased review.
It's in the water..........
wait, starfield isn't just a ship building sim?!
but honestly, the game is kinda just like they dumped the dragonborn in space with an assault rifle.
nah game just stinks being middle of the road is not somehow superior
