Very good information. I applaud you for being the first youtuber that actually helps me understand the water treatment plant instead of showing me how to clear it! got my like!
I've wanted to do this video for over a year. But the combination of changes, life, and laziness kept it from getting done. Glad I finally got it out there.
@@Airwingmarine Thx for the video man. Its one of the best videos on Tarkov, and ive seen a ton! Short and concise and yet so MUCH new and great information. Absolutely love it and will help with all the tasks ahead of me and my buddy.
I've ran BEAR for the last 3 wipes. You saying, "Tarkov is a knowledge game" was right on the money. Thanks for the spoon fed knowledge. You're a straight boss for all you do for the community.
I just got my son back playing again and he picked bear, I didn't put it together and just had to keep saying "I swear I know what I'm doing, It works every other time" glad I can blame him and feel like a good dad 😂 I was confused why we were getting taking out before crossing the river with out shooting one of them before hand.
If you aren't that good, i recommend playing usec and do night-time raids on lighthouse. If you did aggro a rogue, you get more leeway as the distance at which they would shoot along with their reaction times are less than day-time raids.
Love having a guide to the actual rogue behavior instead of just how to clear them. I intend to mark the tanks to unlock m80 and otherwise not touch lighthouse this wipe, so this is much better than having to memorize how to clear the plant and go through that entire process
@@thatguy4305 I only knew about the different factions having different agro ranges. I always thought the water treatment area was shoot on sight no matter where you were.

Airwing you’re the first person to finally tell me if it’s 3 raids anywhere or 3 lighthouse raids. Thank you dude. I finally started playing lighthouse last wipe. It’s a shitshow but I’m excited to sink more time into it. Thanks homie keep it up! ❤
I’m really happy someone finally put this out. I’ve been wondering what exactly the rules of engagement were and just assumed every time I go into the WTP, I needed to clear it of Rogues. I’m going to try this tomorrow
holy shit man, this video was so useful. I had no clue you could do this stuff, i thought you had to clear them all to even go in there. No one ever explains this shit. I just got so many tasks done, you have no idea. thanks for real
Thanks for this guide, very in depth and helpful. I always play USEC and was not aware you could step into the compound without aggro-ing the rogues. Wishing you the best!
This explains all the aggro inconsistency my squad had going into water treatment, and knowing to flash them to force the reposition is great to know. Might save me a death or a dozen when I stop avoiding my Lighthouse missions
Awesome! Thats the difference between younger people and adults. I have seen lots of younger people blaming Lighthouse as the most worse map in the game. I allready loved the map before I have seen this video about the AI mechanics of the Rogues. This hint makes the map just more interesting for me. THX a lot. Subscribe is done!
👍 I knew that they would not shoot me on sight, but that there is a 10 meter bubble and that the mounted guns cause the switch to hostile was new to me. That you can let them kill you, so you don't have to play 3 raids elsewhere as long as you don't harm them was news for me too.
Love it bug vs what’s intended lol but good video. I learned this by maining light house as a scav and after a lot of trial and error on deaths. The good old self taught vs professional explanation. Love the clarity of your videos it’s super easy to digest
Great Video man, as always thank you for your work on the game. Wish i knew some of this stuff when i first started it would have helped greatly! Side note - Might be worth to add a second short video follow up for PVE mode. I find the rogues have alot of similar voices and voicelines as PMC and it can be hard to differentiate sometimes. You can hear them fighting alot of time too as soon as raids start, and maybe go over how that interaction with pve PMC correlates with you as a PMC or SCAV / BEAR / USEC etc. Great job !
Thanks for another great video of breaking something down Barney style. I was confused about how it works because I was told they would be friendly to me when I first started playing but was immediately killed( it was the goons and I didn’t know who they were at the time)
On PvE when running the event where you needed the Gary Zont I used to snipe them as a BEAR from Idiot Rock. Not a single time did they open fire on me while up there. I killed the AGS guy using a DVL with BCP and a PM II 5-25 350 zero. Maybe the court guy got hit, ran away and bled out while searching for med?
The rogues will engage the AI scavs if they get to close as well. Which can also aggro nearby scavs causing them to start shooting. This won’t cause the rogues to aggro on you at all though even if you’re right next to the scavs. Also as a player scav you can make the AI scavs engage the rogues through probably a bug by using smoke or flash grenades. Throw them at AI scavs in the rogue camp and they’ll blame any rogue within their line of sight. I’ve seen them engage the machine gunners on the roofs on the other side of the plant just because they could see them when the grenade landed next to them. This can also work to get AI scavs to engage bosses and their bodyguards though good luck getting close enough without them murdering you.
I run lighthouse a lot, always as bear have never had a wipe as USEC. Last wipe I spawned near the lighthouse, farmed Zryachiy and when I was in the seaside boat docks going toward north checkpoint to extract near red Merin and was ripped by the ags on building 2. I have also been killed on the start of the bridge from village to wtp by the gunner on 2 as well. This is now my first wipe as a USEC and clearing the camp is still the same but I haven’t got cross mapped by the rogues since lol. They just really really hate bears.
thanks for helping me understand the rogues. I killed rogues one raid and the next raid I found a vertex in merin truck then got mowed down by the agl running across the road.
Can confirm they hit agro'd USEC at distance. I loaded in near the boathouses on the beach near Merin. Went to check the bag near the window and got blown to hell. Funny enough i didnt know the multi-raid agro and had shot at them the raid before.
Explanation is great, but I'm now left with even more frustration about the rogue usec implementation. Arbitrary non-LoS bubbles are a thing of the past. Also their accuracy over range with ironsights is still idiotic - i don't mind being shot AT, but being INSTA-LASERBEAMED just isn't right, or fun, or interesting gameplay. Where are the exciting firefights that should be possible with the PvE element here? Where's the rogues' concern for allies (ie, use the npc-scav-checking-bodies coding to suggest they're helping each other/etc), the suppressive fire and maybe even use of smokes/flashes? I wish BSG would spend the time to make the water treatment plant a fun and exciting place to fight around, instead of "do these exact steps and watch out for arbitrary nonsense," which completely negates any sense of tension or enjoyment from the experience.
Also If you can't really distinguise rouges and scav, just remember rouges wear USEC uppers (shirts and coats etc...) but randomly wear scavs pants (fisherman boots, russian camo pants,gorka,etc...) and sometime wear actual tactical pants (grey pants with knee pads and black G3 pant with yellow shoes) Also tks u Marine, can you do the Raiders video next?
I would love a deep dive about overall AI behavior. Dunno if it is intended or a bug but voicelines do very rarely trigger reactions. Would be perfect for us PvE enjoyers :P There does not seem to be a detailed video about it.
BEAR's not so bad this wipe you just need to clear them out first which is a bit annoying but I do have a way to consistently clear out the plant and roam around.
I just completed network provider part 2, marked my BRDM’s and the helicopter. I completely forgot they are neutral if you don’t agro them if you’re USEC.
8:39 are you sure the guy was shot at the location where you found his body? I would first assume that he was shot over near water treatment, failed to heal a bleed, and consequently died while searching for meds.
No it doesn't. Nothing has changed. And before you freak out, I asked BSG.... Either they bugged out (which happens) or you were agro for some reason and didn't realize it.
The age-old question: do I have an easier wipe for PMC kill quests by playing BEAR. Or do I have a better time playing lighthouse as USEC. I usually opt for the never playing lighthouse route.
hmm! I had no idea getting close to the mounted guns trigged the agro...... I had thought finding rare loot inside the plant trigged agro from a greater distance, as a player scav
Wow.. myself and buddy combined 4k+ hrs and we didn’t even know half of this. We always would just do night time as they have less aggro distance we thought
Ive tried on two separate raids to go into the water treatments in usec camp non agro as usec and the second i go in any of them they immediately agro on me.

If you did aggro a rogue, you get more leeway as the distance at which they would shoot along with their reaction times are less than day-time raids.
Step 1 : Don’t play lighthouse
You can't understand rogues, they understand you.
Step 2: Play lighthouse, best map (i am a freak)
If only you could do that while still doing all he progression😢😢
Lighthouse has arguably the best loot of any map. You just have to be mindful of a funny little guys that have good gaming chairs.
