I'm so glad you brought up the visa situation and discussed it. Sometimes I find such videos difficult to relate to because i'm also an expat relying on visa to live in a country ( where I've actually grown up and have been living in since 2005 lol). My legal status to stay here is purely through my current employer. So people don't really understand how difficult these things are. But I do agree with what Ali said and it did motivate me as well to stop thinking of it as a complete barrier and still keep striving to do what I want with my life AND where I want to do it.
As a fellow Mauritian, I also feel that the visa issue is a barrier. In Mauritius, there is also the problem of scale, and distance, because it is literally an island in the middle of nowhere. I also think community is important, whatever job you do, you need to like being where you are, and the place / people need to feed your soul and creativity.
That was so helpful, it is like a conversation I would love to have with a friend! Thank you, Sheen! May Allah make it easier for you, it has been obvious how tired you are since you moved to Dubai. All the best in your next steps.
I like Ali's advice on this one. He doesn't sweat the small stuff and has no fear when it comes to pivoting. Sheen, I am interested what your next step is.
Its been a while since I saw any content from Ali and sheen. I'm glad I clicked on this video. Its my birthday today and I was having a really bad day, not being able to comprehend schoolwork and life generally, but thanks to this video and just listening to Ali speak I've been inspired and motivated to grind and move on. Thanks Ali and sheen for always being such inspirations.
Sheen and Ali have great chemistry. Ali seems to be attracted to Sheen. Sheen seems to intuitively know how to handle Ali. Intellectually compatible and education level similar enough. The level of comfort the two of you have with each other is precious ❤
As a lady and a psychologist, I'm getting something from this... But I'm sure it wouldn't be ideal to mention exactly and it's definitely not my place to do so but I get you Sheen and you've been an amazing friend. I wish you the very best because you deserve it and more. Ali, you too... Thanks for being a supportive friend to Sheen, she's amazing.
As someone who has lived in Dubai for decades, I was 2 years old when I came here with my parents, I would sincerely advise you not to leave your job (in Dubai) till you are officially offered another job contract here. Dubai is a fantastic place to live in, I consider it home, however the job market is extremely competitive despite the skills one may have, and it is absolutely impossible to sustain life in Dubai without a regular income. Just my 2 pence! Wish you all the very best in all your endeavors.
14:10 - Sheen: "You need to help!" hahah Really good video!! Definitely listening to it made me more comfortable with my the decision of leaving my ML job to go back and do medicine!! We miss these Woke Wednesday!!! Keep it up Sheen!!
Really appreciated this conversation. Thank you for sharing it! I can really resonate with the elephant with the string tied to it. We very often create our own limitations. For me this is a scarcity mindset and not believing I can achieve certain things. Thanks Sheen and Ali. Also, bought the book Existential Kink straight away.
Consultants are in a great position to become entrepreneurs because we see what works, what doesn't; we're ruthless at prioritising our time to maximise your productivity because consultants basically have two jobs: client role and firm obligations. It's like a crash course without the theory and you get paid on the way 😉
Love you Sheen and Ali i never miss any video i comment first but i literally ssaid that your Couple is Awesome & i know you're just friends but you are looking great together. Love you From Mars.
This video pissed me weirdly. It is quite ableist to say that if you want, you can do it, to have multiple streams of income. I have autism, ADHD and trauma. I am working on myself like crazy, I changed carrer, succesfully went to IT, put my life in order. I try to manage my time and life deeply but I just don't have energy to do more than go to work for eight hours a day. I have to conserve my energy to be at least able to keep my job. I went through the epic autistic burnout few year prior and I am still not completely out of the water. But once I pay the huge debt I will incorporate myself and build the other income streams. Yes I have precise plan how to do it and what to do. I am desperately trying to find a way to squeeze more energy out of myself. That's why I am on this channel, that's why I am subscribed to Elizabeth too. So please try to be more considerate that not everyone here is young and able?
so, people cannot share their advice (geared toward mentally/physically able people) because someone (you) may get offended? Perhaps look for advice from people who deal with the same things you do? Or, filter out the advice and understand your emotional reactions helps no one? SOME of us want/need the no BS advice without a thousand disclaimers for all the people that react like you.
Great chat! Yes, quit your job and keep creating content and providing value! Do you have a link to the book you guys talked about? Million dollar consulting secret?
I will never make it to my goal by working as an enrolled nurse in Uganda. I have never seen an enrolled nurse achieve the goal that I really want to achieve 😂 Don't follow me if you are not ready for sleepless nights and extremely busy days.

I just quit a high paying job. It's a bit scary but I'm determined to grow my online business and be free of the corporate world!
I love your reunion very much
Mum : What are you doing listening to grown-ups about leaving jobs?
Me, a 15 year old : Learning something college can't teach me.

Always loved the back and forth discussions between both of you :)) Always seem apt and relatable.
So good to have a friend like Ali to give you constructive advice as such..it's like have an external left brain lol

Love this. More life coaching from Ali please !
My favourite part is Ali being painfully BRITISH with the whole “Good stuff” bit 😂

"Stop iiiiiiiiiiit it's bad manners" 🤣
I can attest that getting a job when you require visa sponsorship is HARD. No assumptions or fiction there. I've been through it!
when is the wedding ceremony?
Really ❤️
Great topic! Sheen let me know if you think about moving to Lisbon, would love to meet you and help if you need something! :)
I have a huge TH-cam channel and could definitely use a business coach for the business side of things. What's the process for booking you?
Amazing!! Will you please drop me an email at sheengurrib@gmail.com :)

those cat noises at 1.00 scared my cat so badly

Which episode with Ali is complete without Ali going to town on that Keema Pav?
After seeing the thumbnail, I thought to myself: ‘Friends’ Reunion who?
wowww awesome couple and nice :)
Hey Sheen, hope you @ Mauritius🇲🇺 & Ali @London. But this live together from where?? 🤔🤔
Ali here talking about a separation between home and work. Some of us have to deal with restricted movement lol
my favourites
Are you in London?
Great chat! Yes, quit your job and keep creating content and providing value!
Do you have a link to the book you guys talked about? Million dollar consulting secret?
Good video
That was so nice
Omg Sheeen are you back to England ? 🏴
13:39 The pause lol
Quit my job today! Yayyy 😂😂😂
She actually listens . What a rare breed ?
More woke Wednesday with Ali!
Sheen when is your birthday?
It was so childish when Ali said bye. Remind my childhood behaviour
Ali’s office majorly features takeout but what about Sheen? We feel betrayed.
if we were honest we might admit that what we really want is to be Sultan's first wife without any downsides.
13:40 being a legend 😂🤣
Good stuff.
🍀👍👍
🥺😞💖
Both of you are twinning so I don’t know whether to listen to you or prepare hymns lol
Business Development managers don't make 200k a year 😅😂
I will never make it to my goal by working as an enrolled nurse in Uganda.
I have never seen an enrolled nurse achieve the goal that I really want to achieve 😂
Don't follow me if you are not ready for sleepless nights and extremely busy days.
Why does Tim have a problem with you feeling proud of Ali?
I am struggling with Ali's heavy British accent. Did anyone catch the book name he mentioned?
The consulting one or the one at the end of the video?
@@Dr.anisatariq the one at the end of the video 😂🥹

Omgggggg
Why call it woke
WOKE WEDNESDAY!!!!!
Why woke Wednesday? - Woke - 1.past of wake. 2. alert to injustice in society, especially racism.
"we need to stay angry, and stay woke"
Ali is certainly tapping that as*.
