- Its been about a month since I converted most of my wall space to French Cleats and I've finally got time to make a Tool holder. The first one on my list (of many) is a holder for my Dewalt Palm Router.
This is a test version in MDF to make sure its performs as required.
Tools I used in this video: (some of these links are associate links, I may (if I'm lucky) earn a small commission, however it won't cost you a penny (or cent) more, and thank you if you do. 👍

Great job! I love hearing your thought process when designing!
Thanks Lucy. 👍
That was funny at the end. We've all done it.
Bright idea, like it very much
Thank you! Cheers!
You answered my question on a fixture to hold my new Bosch Colt. I made one for a less expensive trim router but it didn’t have the ridged rubber reinforcement on the cord . Your idea is perfect! I too use French cleats into my small shop and they have been fantastic. With your design and my former one, I can successfully mount both trim routers with the respective bits installed. Thanks for the great idea. Goes to show woodworkers are never to old to learn something new!! Thank you!!
Thanks Phil, my pleasure. 👍
First of many. I will watch with interest. So easy to alter too. Thanks
Thanks Paul. 👍
Nice to see the 'peg' is back
Hi 397, got to think on that one.
Your design plans are much more detailed than mine. Nice on the fly project. I have the same router and see something like this in my shop in the future. I’ll give credit where credit is due by writing GT Woodshop on it somewhere.
Now that made me smile. 😁 (Black maker pen, underneath. )👍
Nice video!
Thank you Sam. 👍
Congratulations! First of many :)
(this channel used to be coronacarpenter, trying to come up with a decent name now)
😁👍 I like New Dutch, sounds great.
@@GTWoodshop well, there's New Brit and New Yorkshire on youtube so it's not exactly original :)
Great idea, a few years ago I went do the road of replacing cables with Festool tails. About a 300mm cable with the Festool cable connector. So then no coil of cable on my tools.
It worked except the connectors kept flopping around when using the tool.
It was a hit as I was travelling in Europe which meant I only had one european cable for all my tools. Then switched cable on returning to UK.
Like your wall system. O and the table saw I am interested how it compares with you previous saw.
Hi Barry, thanks. Interesting idea replacing the cords, I'll think on that, and potentially a vid on table saw comparisons. Thanks. 👍
If you consider adding a connector like the Festool system to all your corded tools it's worth taking a look at the Neutrik Truecon system, it's much easier to use and features a third pin for ground / earth unlike the Festool. It may be cheaper too
@@newdutchworkshop7026 Thanks for the tip. 👍
