- *DISCLAIMER - Up next is Editors' set at Hear Hear Festival, 14th August 2022. I don't own it, nor do I claim to. If you are a copyright holder and you want this taken down, please drop me a line and I'll make it happen. I'd rather work with you than against you.*
There was an eerie paradox on the night, in that Editors current guitarist was being watched from the audience by none other than...Editors current guitarist. Justin Lockey was present for this one, and that is a cause for celebration. In his absence, Nic has been laying down the riffs this summer meaning Justin missed out on all the initial, incremental steps of the momentum-building part of the campaign. A trek that will ultimately lead to the release of EBM in September. Now he's travelling again and spending time with some friendly faces, which is hopefully a positive sign for his return towards the end of the year when Editors morph into a 6 piece band with Blanck Mass. I do miss his airport photos, though.
It felt like there was a wave building over the course of the earlier dates that was destined to crash down on the parched shores of the Hear Hear Festival in Belgium. Apparently, they really dig Editors in Belgium. Who knew? This is the setlist you've no doubt grown accustomed to if you've been following their progress in 2022, but this time it's being played in a not-very-cold venue. It seems to be damn hot here, and I suspect that if you were to collect the bodily excretions from all the participants here over the course of the show...3 olympic sized swimming pools would quickly become full. You could bottle that liquid to be sold as an exotic fragrance, overstate its value, make confusing adverts in black and white for it and charge thousands. All you would need is a snappy title.
"5 Go Sad in Belgium" the new fragrance by Givenchy.
Watching this back, I think that No Harm has become more emotional as it's grown older. It's gone from a quietly brooding bout of paranoia and self-disgust, to an anthem that the band have gradually adapted themselves to fit the shape of. For me, the potential of that track hasn't been realised until much later on, and because of that it's so much more effective now. It's depth has increased with age, and either the composition or the artists were waiting for the other to catch up. Lately, on these festival stages it feels like the two are finally in sync.
Enjoy the music ;)

Most under rated band in the world.
I was going to write the same thing
Siempre lo diré
@@vvhale779 - ...but they never get the big stage on any festival...
I love them absolutely... but meybe so much peaople still dont know them!
I LOVE the Editors!!!
Underrated by who?
This is the BEST British band, their sets are amazing, the fan base is brilliant, I have seen them many times and absolutley love them.
Sorry not the best British band... 😅
Editors make me feel good. Life can be rubbish, work can be awful and loneliness can be overwhelming me but five minutes watching Tom and ‘the boys’ and I can breathe again 💚💙💛🧡❤💜
Absolutely agree with ya 😊
09:18 The effort that went into singing that bridge was his entire lifes efforts in one
I love Toms dramatic energy on stage these days ! 😎
These days ?? He’s always been like that! He’s one of the BEST front man a band can have !!
You know what I love about Editors fans? There’s none of this “Justin is better, no Nic is better” nonsense other bands seem to have to deal with. We’re all like “ok, whose on guitar today? Oh Cool, it’s Nic, love me some Nic” or “man Justin, love Justin. A real Doncaster Viking” and I find that wholesome AF.
But why does Justin not play in some gigs?
@@JoeApples Justin isn’t always in the best frame of mind to go travelling. He has said publicly he struggles with anxiety. Being on tour can be very, very difficult especially with everything the world has been through and is continuing to go through. Sometimes you just have to think of yourself. Huge respect to Justin for that. Big love to Nick as well for being the greatest substitute since Sheringham and Solskjær in 99.
The consistent quality and passion of Editors' performances are off the scale. Today I live for that epic and emotional performance of Racing Rats (those close-ups!) and the way it continues into that beautiful piano intro to Papillon - it's beyond amazing! I can't praise Editors enough - they give us so much more than they will ever realise. As always thank you so much for sharing.
One of the best live concerts I've been in my life. I wish they could come to Brazil one day...
This is my favorite album from them since "In This Light..." Just adore this band. Tour America again! "Heart Attack" is a deliriously glorious song. If Interpol, Depeche Mode, Joy Division, New Order and Arcade Fire all had a child....
you have nailed their lovechild origin story there sir, some orgy that would be!
I was there at the concert, front row, couldn't get closer then we were. My first time EVER seeing them live. Truly a life changing experience, surprised that I still had voice the day after ;)
Just wanted to check out how the gig intro sounds - couldn't stop and watched & listened the whole amazing concert! Huge thanks for sharing! 💥
Thank you for existing, Lemming. It’s your dedication to making as much Editors content available to the public that makes this life easier. Such a strong performance, it’s crazy how much the new songs have already evolved before even being taken on the road. Can’t wait for the album, less than 1 month today.
I love how Tom sings “promise” as “stonish?” in the first chorus of Heart Attack and doesn’t bat an eye haha. I think it’s the third time in their 18 years of live performances I’ve seen, that I’ve ever witnessed him get something slightly wrong. True legends, both Editors and you Lemming.
I’m addicted to this version of No Harm! The passion from Tom and the extra vocals he does near the end are just stunning ❤️
I have seen them 5 times live.. this is a superb performance, there is an urgency and breathtaking beauty in what they did, Thank you for sharing this amazing concert ❤❤❤❤❤
I wish I could see them live...they are so far away from me 🥺
I've seen these live twice, just recently in London... They smahed it, the concert was unforgettable
Boy what a performance. No Harm just blew me away. Impressive concert. Thanks for posting mate !
I am going to see them next week for the first time in my life and I cannot tell you how excited I am! Thank you for this awesome video!
heart attack is insane live, i love this! a great song to open the set
Tom's voice, piano playing and his particular movements..always a delight.his smile..that thankyou followed by a big kiss..high cuddly factor! great setlist..top Editors!!i so regret I wasn't in Hasselt but see you soon (26/10/22)in Brussels guys!thankyou for this upload!💞💫🎶🎸
Fantastic gig! Perfect song list. Tom being his hyper self is always a blast!
What a Big Concert ,i love it so so much ,thank you Editors
This version of No sound is amazing. Love the "Blanck Mass' treatment on the older songs.
Also, his shirt is bonkers, I am trying to find it for the past few days
It was a amazing knight.
A bit of a last minute decision to travel over to Belgium for this festival.
Always a great feeling to travel for music.
I sa one of the Gallagher brothers for the first time.
A amazing performance by the great Liam Gallagher.
It was a hot one this day.
But well worth it to see Editors again.
There where amazing as always the never let down.
Love theme so much.
Never disappointed, ever.
They where on there a game this night.
Better than there Dauwpop gig.
Loved every second.
Sorry for the long post.
I don’t have a outlet around me if it comes to the best band in the world.
It was my 19th time and the 2th time this year.
the 20th is also going to be this year, there gig in Rotterdam.
That’s why I want to thank you for posting every performance you can find.
Great band...fantastic live...Tom Smith perfect
Finally! Some good live footage of the new songs! 🙏 Really needed that, cause the recorded versions didn't quite get to me yet. Guess they are a bit too electronic for me? But it's fine. Editors have always used electronic elements. And I appreciate them trying to explore new things to learn and to evolve, rather than repeating themselves and eventually getting bored...
Also their live performances just seem to get better with every album!
Now I only hope Justin's break from playing on stage won't become permanent, cause I do miss his backstage/tour photography, too!
I am so glad that TH-cam suggested this to me! What an excellent performance! 👏🏻💖 Thank you!
I'm so glad we found them(Munich)
I love when Tom kisses Nic just before Karma Climb with Ed laughing in the background 😂 probably an inside joke from that weird interview in Romania
So cute.
(What happened in that interview?)
@@apl2606 th-cam.com/video/wdWD_XzvSe8/w-d-xo.html this interview- the interviewer just asks a ton of weird questions in a random way 😂
@@yasdrums Thanks for the link. Almost painful to watch. 🙈
Hey buddy thanks for posting this, a great warm up for Rock City this Wednesday thanks
Been lucky enough to see this brilliant Band a couple of times at Glastonbury and once in Bristol at Colston Hall. Always stunning live performers👏. Love them❤️👊
I was in the tent at Hear Hear .
Amazing concert ! 🤩
Tom's intensity is riveting.
Editors sound great. Seen them twice live. Hope they come to Orlando soon!
It was such a joy to read your thoughts of the show while watching and listening to this. Editors has been a band I’ve been enamoured by since I learnt of them and they never disappoint. Because they constantly reinvent and bring only the utmost energy to everything they do. Thank you for this.
I love Editors ❤️ and thank you for all the content you publish Lemming ❤️
Going to see this band on Wed 25th Jan 2023 at rock city Nottingham. Can not wait
Transition to Frankenstein was superb!
wow, i need to see them LIVE - that's for sure.
Thank you so much for posting this. I last saw Editors at Irving Plaza in New York back in 2019. That was a stripped performance in small venue. They really nailed this performance at Hear Hear.
I was there! Came from Toronto for show ..it was great seeing them in a small venue 🖤
I think it was 2018
Thanks so much for sharing. Any Lemming update makes my day. I hope this one stays up!
Editors are the fucking truth! They obliterate so many bands today! Love Love them!
Thanks for the concert in Calabria (16/8/24)
I love this band!!
Sorry for always being here, and so early too, but this is the only channel I care about the notification bell going off. I feel that I can wait much longer for movie reviews or FPL advice. Getting closer and closer to 'live'! Thanks for posting.
Amazing voice
A Grand bit of youtubery. Kudos Lemming! i completely agree on the 'No Harm' sentiment.
Karma Climb sounds so phenomenal in this. Hopefully they make it to the States after the album is released.
I've loved the combination of Violence/No Harm since they started rolling into each other. Perfectly executed.
The absence of a lot of WEIGHT is so interesting as time goes on. I wonder if that album just becomes lost in live shows for them moving forward.
I've been googling anything mentioning a US tour lol. I wanna see them so bad I'm considering just going overseas haha
Haven't seen a new song with Tom on the electric since like 2007. Feels refreshing
That block from Karma Climb to No Harm - absolutely legendary. This whole performance is killer, one of their best
You mean the block from Heart Attack to the end of No Sound but the Wind is legendary. Right? ;-)
Great show! Thanks for sharing Lemming. Love the altered beginning of An End Has a Start. Lots of love from Australia!
I am so thrilled about this improved sound! Seen them in 2020 a month before covid and they were amazing!! Looking forward to the new lbum - love Karma climb. Will be seeing them live in October in Milan 🧿🌀💙
Jeg burde oppdaget dette bandet for lenge siden, bedre sent enn aldri, de gir nå et godt bidrag til min samling med vinyl, Ett fantastisk Band 👋
Brilliant. Cant wait to see them live next october
Beautiful and amazing band I cherish ❤❤❤❤❤
I just love Editors!! I'm in the US and I wish they'd tour here! Seattle or Las Vegas guys, pretty please ❤️
"How do I look tonight
Lit by mobile phone light"
I love these lyrics, don't know why I can't stop thinking about them
when pappion ends and frankstein starts i was going ballistic class
imagine loving smith and burrows and your daughter says that's the guy from Editors, true fan now
This gig is incredible ! I love Editooooooooors !
Can't wait to see them in Rotterdam this October 😍😍
I'll be worried if you launch a fragrance company! ; ) Thank you as usual for pulling this all together; the top Editors resource on the web. Editors are a pleasure to hear and in great form lately.
Great show! Fantastic energy
So Karma Climb is the new live anthem, then...

Great show !! 👏👏👏💖💖Thanks for sharing.
Amazing .. thank you for sharing ! ❤❤❤❤
I love 'The Sting' - Just a bonus song, but really is such a brilliant track imo. Would LOVE to hear it live..
I know it's not the same as physically being there, but it was played in Birmingham during what we all thought were Editors' last ever shows back in June of 2012. If you're interested...

And this has the original version with Chris as part of the Teenage Cancer Trust show in 2011:-

Incredible
The new álbum will be glorious
Queria tanto um show deles no Brasil. :/
Seria ótimo. Banda muito boa e que não está nos holofotes , apesar de ser grandiosa
Awesome Band. Realy very the Best ❤
I Hope Editors come to Bonus Arena in Hull.
Sublime.
I love them so much 🖤
16:26 ❤
Oh and I sang 'Racing Rats' in a Karaoke Bar in Spain. Fact.
Just perfect !!
Sehr schönes Konzert. Leider zuviel Werbung und die Songs werden dadurch zerteilt.
Grazie!!
This version of "No Harm" is so powerful.
check Pinkpop 2018 "No Harm" version, you won't be disappointed)
@@alienation9132 oh wow, this is amazing. We need a compilation of No Harm live versions and remixes.
I'd like to throw this one into the mix too, Werchter 2016:-

@@airbornelemming So beautiful. Thank you!
Kiss ending has Oasis 'Columbia' vibes - "I can't tell you the way I feel because I feel is oh so new to me'. Anyone else getting that? Similar lyrics and melody. Defo not a criticism, just an observation! xx
fkng thank u
Wonderful
Is there a link to the video for No Harm alone somewhere? This version is awesome!
🖤🔥
I love Tom Smith and Editors. But just wondering, does anyone know why he wears baggy clothes now? Style or comfort? I wanna say comfort 😂
I want to know as well, it looks like he’s just borrowed someone else’s that are like 3 sizes too big 😅😂
@@oh_my_jools yes it does, if anyone can pull it off it’s him. However I’m more
Fond of his older more fitted style.
Kiss sounds sooo much better live. 😃
I'm really not sure about having No Sound but the Wind as the closer. It seems to create a weird vibe to end the night with. Any thoughts?
I agree, it was weird in Birmingham a couple of months ago. It’s fair enough here though because it’s Belgium’s song basically 😂
