I DIE!!! Miss Lupone is without question has one of the most gorgeous voices I've ever heard.........She is truly, AMAZING!!!
Understanding the context of this performance, I get chills every time I hear “I’d like to propose a toast” and then seeing Patti truly excited to share this piece with us. I can’t stand how much I love this performance.
Now this is what BRINGING THE HOUSE DOWN means. Every note perfect and acting on point! And Elaine acknowleding that is really beautiful! One of the best musical performances out there!
What a gem! A... yellow diamond if you will.
riiiiiiice, riiiiiiice, riiiiiiice, riiiiiiice
wtf
Now that's all I hear, lol
GUURRRLLL HAHAHAHHAHAHA
@Peridot Fried or Steamed?
me when they ask if I want rice or noodles
03:35. Patti: fasten you’re seatbelts folks I’m sendin this one outta the theater.
I just saw her do this in the latest production of Company and my word...when she says I'd like to propose a toast, she hadn't even started but everyone started applauding her.
That's how powerful she is.
Now that is what I call fabulous!! What a star!! I love her!!
I like how Elaine nods her head so the people in the way back can see she is in fact wearing a hat, probably for our benefit. RIP Stephen Sondheim.
Who’s here after watching Christine Baranski, Meryl Streep and Audra McDonald???
All of us.
Nando Leonet GOD
☝🏻
All of us is right.
Me!
The way Elaine leapt to her feet when Patti was done singing shows just how much love and respect she has for her. not only that, but it is a testament to Patti's power and talent that THE Elaine Stritch was so deeply and honestly enthused by her performance. LOVE TO SEE IT
I listen to her sing this five times a day she is superb...the song is brilliant and the lyrics stunning!!
OMG! Who doesn't like Patti LuPone!!!! As a singer OR actress! Love you, Girl.
Put me in the “Don’t Like” camp. 100% belt all the time gets to be very grating very fast. Caterwauling.
I saw her perform this twice in Company in London this year. It was incredible. She was incredible. So lucky to see her perform it live.
LaPone is one in a zillion - phenomenal performance =she sings every note as written - and what a gorgeous tune it is!!!
I LOVE how Elaine Stritch jumps to her feet at the end.
The Divas in the background don't move a muscle!
They are like "we have to follow that???"
jumpforjoy6 and they sure did!
@@jumpforjoy6 Stritch sang it just as well.
Picture it! 1963, Judy Garland and Ethel Merman are on the set of The Judy Garland Show. Ethel says "Ya know Judy, you and I are the last of the big belters!" Judy replies "We sure are!" CUT TO: Yoda, watching from the studio audience. "No. There is another." CUT TO: La LuPone singing Ladies Who Lunch in 2010.
John Dalton. Thanks for the memories. I can and do picture those two talented ladies as the last of the "big belters Judy with her movie songs and The late Great Ethel" with her Broadway belting. And cut to the Great Patti Lupose of another generation belting out her unforgettable numbers. Maybe Judy and Ethel didn't live long enough to enjoy Patti, they must be smiling now.
Good God. Patti LuPone. Incomparable. What I wouldn't do for those pipes, that range, and holy man...that DICTION. Singing consonants is nearly impossible for us mere mortals. But For La LuPone? Just another day on stage.
That was the best performance of the night, and every one knew that in the 11 rises moment hahahha
Im here to observe all the props she been getting since her casting in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Im pleased to have found this.
Love the comedy, singing, and jazziness
The Icon, the Legend. I love her beyond measure. Watching again for the 50th time in 2020. Loved her in Hollywood.
Ms. Lupone. She slays me everytime I hear her sing this. Thank you diva. Show us how its done ! Here's to you!
