I've been playing DOA for over a decade and this is new to me...a lot of little things in these videos I just never knew...completely changes the game.
DOA and VF have always been very similar to each other in both button layout, mechanics, and certain rulesets. This is why the VF characters transitioned so smoothly into DOA5. This has been the case since DOA1, but unfortunately people have been too blind to actually look into the depth of the game. They are both great games and equally deep in their own respect. If you never tried it and are a VF fan, I highly recommend it :)
yeah Tina has one when you do KP .. or PKP .. As for Lei Fang yes. if after CB you do 7K > BT PP4P, PP6PP .. if you're in the wrong stance the last P might whiff (works on midweights .. try vs. Hayate). then there's the occasional situation where you can get a limbo from a slightly turned opponent from 4KK. As for Helena .. I'm not too sure to be honest but I'm sure there might be something here or there ..
actually even with the old slow crouch, fuzzy guarding was still applicable with the 33H input .. now you just notice it more because you can technically fuzzy by simply going 2H in some cases .. I still feel the old way required much more skill and a crouch was a commitment unlike now. but the faster crouch has its merits too :)
hehe. I'm glad you learned something new :) actually almost the entire cast has similar situations like that. when trying to setup limbo stuns or trying to follow up twirl stuns, or in rare cases some air juggles as you saw with the Rig example. :)
Free cancelling huh? My combos just got a little longer it seems :). Thanks for the vid, and I thought I was decent enough at thisgame to not need these videos :D
Didn't know about fuzzy guarding, great. Never thought free canceling was considered as an advanced technique. oO Why is it called Korean back dash anyway, lol
shit man... never would have know all this stuff. would have taken me years to figure it all out my self. like when i try to self taught my self tekken. it was fustrating. lol

This series was ahead of it's time. Thank you.
I'm glad you liked them .. and stay tuned for more stuff once 5U kicks in ;)
This is a really clear explanation of some potentially confusing stuff.
Great.

Ever since the crouch animation was reduced a few frames, fuzzy guarding has become much more useful.
Awesome vid. Had no idea how much in common this game had with VF.
Awesome and really useful, never really understood the backdash and fuzzy guarding :P

Amazing work, as always.

Thanks man another great video! The next one is combos right? Will it teach us how to make combos?
yup.. voiced by Justin Wong ;) .. started working on it .. expect it soon :)
The most useful video of doa5
Thanks guys! Learned a lot from this video :D

I was 14 when doa5 came out, wow.
Another great video EMPER0RC0W. Learn something every time.
wow thank you for all this great content - i was about to give up on this game but i want to learn it - i love fighting games - Thanks ^__^
Oh Cow. Wanting the fuzzy guard to be part of an elite club? xD "We're the Fuzzy Guarders, byatch!"
0:47 BRO WTF IS THAT
Still have no idea how to free cancep :(

Free cancelling looks hard asf tho
On the free cancelling segment, does it work for all characters or does it work for characters like Hitomi or Eliot?
Paul Pablo everyone..
hey does the back dash cancel still work in 5U? thanks.
yup..still the same .. works like a charm
So that's what that is thanks
Keep messing up on this topic 3:49
Its more complex than you think.
Thats the whole point of these videos .. :P
I hope they help make the game a little more simple :)
DOA6 took that way too far. Plus no Ein, no power blows, no tag system, removed Nyotengu's sexiness, etc. Screw that bro.
Ah so I can utilize Tekken movement in this game. Sweet.
wtf... this is a lot like VF5FS.
Didn't know about fuzzy guarding, great.
