Please find below list of monthly expenses for a husband wife and 2 kids
75-80k for rent 2BHK in posh location or society or 2lk EMI for a 2.2 cr loan. Most new apartments cost 2.5-3 cr
10k for maid and cook
5k electric bill
2k broadband and mobile
10-20k for eating out on weekends
30k for groceries
10-20k for shopping
1lk for children school fees and other expenses
50k to save for once a year foreign trip
30k EMI for a 15lk car
10k petrol and maintenance
1lk SIP for mutual funds
Overall approx 4-5lk pm which includes savings. So 75lk-1cr per annum gross income is required for decent living

All the above expenses is per month excluding the 50K p.annum (trip)
Then how come u consider 1 lakh per month for schl fees (2 children), absolutely high
20K per month × 2 kids or 4.80L per annum is enough for both the children

Shift government offices from Mumbai and cost of living will get down. It will be blessing for locals. Government employees make save nothing living here , rent too high , travelling time almost half of your job.
The very reason government employees from income tax, Banks, Insurance companies are resigning. Many data centers are their that also employee deficit as they resign after a while or end up frustrated or dead.
Foreign investment in Mumbai is also other reason for high inflation , middle low income people not able to survive. Government also suffering loss running business here.
