the best tutorial i found far. thanks for explaining what the buttons/categories mean in layman terms and the consequent examples. i appreciate you so much, keep up the good work.
I had a lot of questions about cleaning up audio after recording (removing background noise, hiss, &c) and this video explained it all. Much better and more informative for the beginner than the "best tutorial available."
I am a beginner and found this material very easy to grasp. I took notes and listened several times to areas that were beyond me. Thanks for this effort. It has helped me a lot.
Best Tutorial I've found so far in my journey to transition from Audition to Audacity. Very complete. I definitely need deeper work on EQ and Compression! Please send your lists. Keith
TNice tutorials is much more simple than I thought with you explaining it. Currently half way through and I feel like I know everytNice tutorialng already lmao
I think I have learned much from the tutorial. Is it possible to help us with a similar one, but just for music editing and MIDI? Much thankful. Maybe suggestion too for VST?
You are welcome. Currently I mainly work with voiceover in Audacity, so that is the field of expertise for me. I hope to learn music editing as well in the future and will be able to produce video on those topic I hope. Thanks for such a nice comment and inspiration.
Thank you for your effort! However I have a question related to editing. In previous version of Audacity, one was able to edit track using an additional track from which a part was cut out, then in track1 by using split command and pasting the part from track2 was altered. When I try to do the same in new version of Audacity I get a notice there isn't enough room. I do hope I am making sense with the question and that someone might be able to help me out. I am using Audacity to record an audiobook. After recording a single track, I go and listen to it and if needing to correct some parts, how can I do it? Many thanks for the help!!!!!
I understand the issue. After split, you have to drag a clip to the right to make some room. This short video will give you an idea: th-cam.com/video/QLjUswPoQ4I/w-d-xo.html If it does not solve the issue, please comment again.
How do you elongate your track? e.g. You have deleted too much, let's say 3 seconds on the other end, can you some how pull the audiotrack so that it's is longer and you can hear the extra 3 seconds you wanted. So can you adjust the part of the track in the middle that is visible=audible?
Instead of deleting some parts you should split then trim. That way you can get back the trimmed parts just by dragging back and it won't affect the duration in time line.
@@MasterEditor5 Thanks ME, however, it didn't work for my MAC. Looking at your video again, it appears this only works recording from a microphone rather than capturing music audio from a website as I first queried. Thanks anyway for responding
@@ausfan100 Hmm, you are right. This video is about recording through a microphone. Recording audio from website won't be possible with Audacity alone. You will need a loopback adapter and additional software. The easiest option is to use a paid screen recording software like Camtasia.
Dear Master Editor, this Audacity tutorial is too advanced for a beginner. Think 8th-grade lesson planning. Build your instruction from fundamental operations and gradually introduce more sophisticated concepts. I'm very disappointed and was hoping for a better introduction to using Audacity.

My first ti ever gettin on soft soft was in 17 man it a whole year to use to soft soft
🤔
😮 as a voice-over artist this makes me want to hire someone else to do all the post-production stuff. 😢
It's seems complex at first but once you take the time to familiarize with the concepts, it's become easy
realy useful
Glad you think so!
Does knowing how to play softal tutorial necessary?
what is softal?
how do i control the decibels level in audacity with out switch changing the frequency or the volume when change to the decibel view?
I am not sure about the question but Normalization is one way to control volume

How do you open the microphone gain slider in audacity? Mine is not open.
Which Audacity version are you using? In versions before 3.2, go to View --> Toolbars --> Mixer Toolbar
📌 🎥 👍🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻
Hey!
is it possible to set the tempo in a song? I mean straighten it out so it keeps straight BMP for mixing? sorry bad translate
I mainly work with voice over, hence I have no good idea about song mixing
I have a MAC -- does this video also apply to a MAC computer? I want to capture music audio from a website.
Yes, it applies to Audacity, be it in Mac or Windows or Linux!

I think that will be too slow for a TH-cam video. Those kind of planning can be done for course materials
