  • The first run on video of the Saito FA-90TS engine. I ran a 14x6 Master Airscrew wood prop, 2 OS F plugs and 10% equivalent fuel. (About a 50:50 mixture of 22% nitro and 80/20 FAI fuel)

    Thank you for sharing David. I have one of these myself. Sweet engine. Has never given any trouble in 13yrs of service. I also have a saito 325 radial in my warbird. Saito make lovely engines.
    I have my 90 in a 60 size j3 cub fitted with floats. Performs extremely well. Hope you enjoy your engine.

    Wow the TS line of saito twins (60 and 90) are the most beautifull twins ever made by saito in my opinion.

    I am envious ot that fine example. I have been wishing to find one of those type of Saito twin engines myself but I was more interested in finding a 60 size but that 90 of yours sounds and looks fantastic on video.

    What a neat twin Dave. It must have a 360deg firing order. Sounds like a baby BMW motor cycle. If I find one I will buy it in a heart beat. I already own the 120 triple and a FA 1oo twin. The humidity looks almost Florida like.

    I have this engine on a Goldberg Cub. I find that it tends to lean out over the time it takes to run out a 14 oz tank. I land and richen the mixture to keep it running.

      Perhaps a 14 ounce tank it too large for it.

    Nice engine I’ll have to find me one of saitos smaller boxer engines. Although IDK if it’s just me. Or the camera mic but seems like the bearings make some noise.

    • @dmrcflyr2

      The bearings are silky smooth, plus it has less than 5 runs on the engine. Unlikely there are issues with the bearings. Could be the garage echo too.

    Off subject, what's your favorite prop tachometer to use?

    • @dmrcflyr2
      @dmrcflyr2  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The one in my hand that has good batteries. There aren't a lot to choose from anymore so the question is somewhat irrelevant.

    Hi Dave, it’s eagle. Can you tell me the product you use to clean your engines again thank you sir.

    • @dmrcflyr2
      @dmrcflyr2  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have provided a video link. However I am hesitant to recommend this product now because several viewers has stated that the formulation might have changed that results in discoloring of AL parts. Use at your own discretion. I have not purchased this cleaner in some time because I no longer clean or service engines so I cannot verify. The LA's I used in the past worked well for me.
