    Yes! Another jewell of an engine! Absolutely gorgeous, can't wait for the comparison run. Lovely Bella at the end too! Keep em coming!

    Just ordered one of these for a used SA Bulldog airframe from ESM I recently picked up. It will just fit inside the cowl. Looking forward to running it. I also have the Saito FG84 3 cylinder radial in a Hangar 9 Pitts which is absolutely gorgeous!

    Both are very beautiful. I would speculate that they did not produce equal heads for different setups but instead they changed the casting inserts according to the carb/exhaust setup for the heads. That is why you see this "closed holes" in the heads.

      My information came directly from this article, sceptreflight.com/Model%20Engine%20Tests/Saito%20FA-182T.html Page 2 center column and my career working in manufacturing.

      @james ellis, would you mind sharing some info on your fa182t on petro, i would also like to run one on petro, i have the cdi ignition. are you flying this? did you use stock carb? do you use exhaust pressure to fuel tank? what mix of oil to petro are you running? TIA

      @gerald rigby certainly, I'm using the Rcexl A-02 ignition on stock timing (30°btdc) from a 3.3Ah 6.4v nominal LiFe pack (2x22650 cells). Benched still at about 100m (330') asl, sadly not flying yet. Yes stock carbs with needles around 1 turn out (still reducing oil ratio from 20% ATracing Synglide+ and leaning hsn 35 clicks or less) with a non pressurised tank of 98 octane running a 16x8 APC prop.

      @@jamesellis5445 You didn't need to do anything about lowering compression, like shims under the cylinders?

    Do the .65, .80, and. 91 share the same size carburetor?

    • @dmrcflyr2
      @dmrcflyr2  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The carb body and mounting are the same but the throttle barrel is not.
