Nias 6-8 feet Perfection - RAWFILES - 13/MAY/2022 - 4K

- South Swell with almost no wind all day long , dropping tide in the morning and only 10-12 people in the lineup made this day special.
The morning was still a bit slow, long waiting for the sets, many wide ones made it a bit difficult to get a good tube.
Around midday the cross on wind got a bit stronger till 4pm. Around 5pm when the tide started to go out, the Wave machine of Lagundri Bay turned on, set after set, perfect clean tubes with a beautiful sunset!

Christ! That session would enable memory burn for ever. Dream conditions epic locals. Especially the old local elder shoulder hopping what ever wave he wants. The joy on their faces are priceless. Nice Video! And so beautiful breaking waves🌊! Thoose Waves are 6-8 ft tall. I don't know why everybody is estamating the hight of the breaking waves, when you can calculate the it exactly. The wave in the video at 1:45 needs for breaking / falling down 0,69 secundes. The free fall formular is h = 0,5 * g * t^2. So h = 0,5 * 9,81 (m/s^2) * (0,69 s)^2 = 2,34 m (7,7 ft). Even with the drone, the waves look like that.

@@SurfRawFiles The wave in the video at 2:51 breaks in 0,74 secundes whitch makes 2,7 m (8,8 ft). So a little bigger😅. It's a wave-set probably. Avg is 6 to 8 ft. Have a good one!
@@Oliver1997Physics one wonders why the XXL judges don't calculate wave heights like that. Lip travels at the acceleration of gravity. No more calipers and rulers and using surfers heights. Just time the fall of the lip!
@@markhurlock3891 Jop. I wonder as well that a XXL judge is using not existing rules. I'am studying physics. Mechanical waves like water waves are meassured peak to peak or amplitude. The wave height h (peak to peak) = 2 A so 2 times amplitude from y = A sin (wt). I don't think so that the XXL Judges know this formular. So the wave height ist 2,5 m the amplitude is 1,25m. No other options for meassuring waves. And a wave lip doesn't exist in real.

A short wave..I would give it a miss.
That's just the first, very addictive section. If you want to have a longer ride, you can continue and surf all the inside sections, which make the wave quite long in the end.
