- In this video, we'll set up an alarm system that is going to be cheap to set up. Won't require a monthly subscription, and it will be totally local. To accomplish this, we will do it with Home Assistant and the custom integration called Alarmo.

You can have it to alarm/disarm if your phone is home or away aswell?
I've also seen somebody create a key pad / nfc card reader with esphome and integrate into alarmo.
Alarmo sets the standard for well thought out extension and best UI

Do you think it's possible get a keyless entry (connected direct to HA using zwave and keymaster) to arm/disarm alarmo? i.e. when you lock keyless entry alarmo is activated and when opened with a code it is disabled
Thank you very much for this amazing guide. I have a small issue and maybe you have an idea on how to solve it. I want the siren to start on 3 different HomePod's Mini and I tried to put them all in the same script but only one was activated and started to play the sound. I also created 3 different scripts but still also the first script created was activated and only one homepod played the sound. If I manually run the scripts for each home pod, they are all working. I even created 3 different mp3 files for each device but nothing. Do you have any clue on how to solve this? Thank you!

Thanks so much for all your effort on this, I have one issue and I wonder if you could assist me. In the process of creating the script: In the "Action" tab ---> "select media". When I select my Amazon Echo device, I get this message: "Media player does not support browsing media", I don't have the option to select the siren or alarm media file i have placed in the media folder. Any idea why I am not seeing the option to select the media file?

Yes. You do an automation to both of these. Check out smart home junkie channel. He doesn’t use alarmo but the automation is the same.

How do I replace the smart speakers with an actual siren? (SR01-ZB siren)
Personally I had some issues with the "Stop Siren" scripts. For testing I'm using a Google Home Mini. When the 'Stop Siren' script was kicked off (either manually or via alarm triggered), it did not play the audio next time.
I added a "1s delay" between the "Turn off" and "Turn on". Tested it again and again, this works Flawless.
Hi, can you share some more details. My siren will not turn on when the alarm is triggered. I can see that the Stop Siren is activated but when I set the alarm and the alarm is triggered there is no sound.

Anyway, build a delay (1 second) between the power off and power on. That worked for me.
@Christian Did you add the 1 second delay as an action at the end of the siren & stop siren script? I am having the same issue. I can trigger the siren and then disarm it but if I arm the alarm again and trigger it the siren will not play through my google mini speaker. I'd appreciate any help. I am so close lol
It was little fast for me. But after several tries i figured out.

Great video. I followed everything and got it working. The alarm sound worked the first few times and now it doesn't play the sound at all. Do you know what the cause might be? I followed all your script instructions exactly so that's why I'm a little confused

I've got everything working but for some reason the Siren script won't turn on! It works when I run the start/stop script manually but it does nothing when the alarm is triggered. I do get the notifications.
Juan, a little off topic here, but I ordered a Hoobs Pro last March. They kept giving excuses about why it had not shipped and how it would ship next week, next week, etc. I finally cancelled my order in September, but they have refused to refund my funds. This is a very questionable business if not a complete SCAM!

Hi Juan , I cannot get the sounnd to loop while aram is triggered , it will play 17 sec mp3 (clip is 17sec) and stop. Any help is much appreciated in advance

I cannot make my alarm sound repeat. I tried with both a google home and a HomePod.
I followed everything , and the siren only plays for 10 seconds then shuts off, even though the alarm is still triggered. Does anyone know why?

just saw this error : " In 'template' condition: UndefinedError: 'state' is undefined" is there a mistake on my template.
I would double check the wait template data. Make sure you set it up to the name if your speaker entity.

I followed you tutorial and everything was setup in less than an hour. All of a sudden the keypad has disappeared and I cannot get it back. Anyone else had this and know how to fix it ?
If anyone comes across the same issue I found the problem, Somehow Alarmo had changed the Pincode to Password. I changed back to Pincode and the keypad came back
