  • If you've never tried blueprints in Home Assistant then in this video I tell you what they are, how you can find them and give you my 5 best Home Assistant blueprints for some amazing automations.
No matter if you're new to Home Assistant or a veteran, blueprints can be a huge time saver and in many cases will get you up and running quicker and stress free compared to writing the automations from scratch.

There are some great Blueprints for those using Inovelli switches and setting up scenes! Thanks for the video!

First time viewer and long tome HA user. I really appreciate you taking the time to find these wonderful blueprints and promote them. As you said, there's a ton of blueprints; I really appreciate you doing the leg work. I'll be trying a couple of these. I have also subscribed as I like the way you present the data and will be checking out your other videos. Nice job!

Great video. Thanks. I never even think to look what blueprints are available. I disabled an old house alarm yesterday and am going to use the PIRs with HA so that first blueprint might come in useful.

Thanks Mark, I don't think enough is made of them to be honest and agreed the first one sounds ideal for what you're doing.

Just found the Sensor Light: Blueprint today, using it with motion detection. It is such a brilliant Blueprint, so versatile

Using this with an Aqara sensor and some under cabinet LED lights - works brilliantly and a very configurable blueprint.

Hi Thank you for this brilliant intro to Blueprints. I have implemented the Battery Low one and it works great with the only device that actually reports its battery level correctly. However I have 6 other devices, a mix of Zigbee and Wifi, including a Hive thermostat. Non of these ever change their battery level from 100% (since installation many months ago) The Hive has been 60% for 3 years and multiple battery replacements. All of the devices work correctly with thier main function such as Temperature, door opening etc. Please can you help me identify the issue.

Hi, I've had similar problems with some zigbee devices, either re-pairing them or changing the battery does the trick even if the battery reports a high percentage.
I don't have battery powered WiFi due to the consumption but I have read that some devices don't automatically report their state and that they only do it when manually asked which may be what's happening with the WiFi devices. I know with Z-wave you can refresh the value in your template as that can have similar issues.

Hello, Thank you for sharing this' As regards the battery notification blueprint, is it possible to add a warning into the dashboard with the device that needs battery change ?

There isn't a direct option to do so in the blueprint and I haven't tried this as I have something very basic set up to show battery status for each device but I guess with some work you might be able to create something as you suggest.
