Gintama is mostly a comedy anime and thanks to those comedy episodes we get more attached to the characters and care about them more in the serious arcs. If you're planning to start watching it, just watch it casually and don't expect fights right away because it's definately a slow burner

I started gintama a week ago and it is definitely difficult to watch I am on episode 39 can you tell me when will it become really good

@@abdullahbhatti3874 the first serious arc of the show is in the end of the 50's and it's pretty good. The format of Gintama is usually comedy arcs + episodes and a serious arc each 30 episodes. If you only want action in Gintama it's only action arcs in the beginning of the 300 episode mark. If you don't like the comedy you shouldn't force yourself to watch the series because the comedy arcs build the characters so that you later care about them a lot in the end of the series.

@@JYRK1N to be fair I have forced myself to watch 40 episodes even though some episodes were good like ep33 etc but I am not going to drop it because it because I know that it's going to get better the thing with gintama is that mc don't particularly has any goal so we don't go on a journey and episodes are random which is why it's hard to get hooked

Gintama is one of those shows that is just so good, but you certainly have to have been watching anime for a while to get half the jokes they make, definitely recommend!
