I mean, of course everyone has their own opinion, in my case I grew up watching Naruto, which was my favorite anime, I read One Piece and I really love, it's one of the best stories but after I watched Gintama, for me no other anime is better, they just can't top that.

Gintama is definitely crazier..jojo is bizarre but gintama is just out of this world crazyness..with a good story and plot too..good drama and top tier action with a good message..most of the times you laugh and cried but then the story kicks in out of nowhere to progress the plot..a lot of set up for future arc and then the twist came in and makes you think that its only logical that gintama is a comedy..it would'nt work any other way..its also very meta like complaining how they can't get a bigger budget like naruto or dragon ball..zurump janai its katsura is basically parodying trump..

When Gintama actually goes into its actual story its actually incredible one of the best storytelling i have ever seen in manga and anime. Comedy is whole different level leagues above other anime and fights are incredible especially after getting deeper into the series

Yeah, the cast is stellar across the board full of familiar legends from a lot of other anime series.
Hijikata is voiced by Zoro's VA, Katsura is voiced by Gaara's VA, Gintoki is voiced by Katakuri's VA... Honestly, I can never listen to lots of characters the same way ever again because of Gintama 😂
Just the premise of GINTAMA is the ultimate stroke of genius, it enables the author/director to go crazy without it feeling forced.
And yeah, it's craziest show out there but it just makes sense.
Gintama is basically JoJo's part 2 on drugs. The best kind of drugs

@@Katpasniss yeah, it does sometimes, especially in the first 100 episodes, but I suggest you stick to it, it's truly a wonderful anime. Also, stay away from spoilers, they can REALLY ruin Gintama for some people, because of the way the plot is set up.

My short summary of Gintama I tell friends is "So the shounen protag failed, and now we get to see the aftermath of his life that is found family, hijinks, and copyright scares."
Gintama is crazier by far. Jojo may be bizarre sometimes but Gintama does it every episode for 365 episodes.
They're both hella weird in different ways... But like. In pure wackiness Gintama's gotta come out on top.

Gintama Has a story that gets bigger and bigger the longer it goes on. First major Arc starts around 60, then the next one is like 80.
It's got a good story. Some decent humor, there are hit and miss episodes. There is probably something for you in the show, more so if you watch a lot of anime.

It's certainly the funniest show ever, including tv series and sitcoms. It starts weak to be honest, but it peaks in another level - both the animation and humour become way better. It has a variety of jokes, from the silliest to the darkest. Also, the parodies are one of the kind, not only from anime, but from Hollywood movies and pop culture too. Regarding the more serious arcs, they're minor and scattered all over the place (after the first 50 episodes). However, they're chilling and very very sad.

The artist of Gintama on the other hand, basically realized he wasn't making a serious shonen series since the beginning wasn't doing so well, gave up, and basically said f*q it and expected to not be taken seriously.

Gintama is so hilarious but also has fantastic story arcs with so much emotion in them.
I watched all jojo and tbh it is good show and one of my favorite. But to compare it to gintama is whole another level. Its like they should put Gintama Bizzare adventure instead of Jojo. People tend to overhype jojo too much man. And for some reason when u ask if this is any better than jojo got me trigger like for no reason. Among other shounen anime and you pick jojo.
I agreed with people saying that Gintama has better story builing n plot than Dragonball tho. But not as good as naruto/onepiece's plot. But each character's story for gintama take the cake. Truly masterpiece.

Gintama is easily a hundred times crazier than JoJo. You can't even call it crazy anymore, it's just pure, unadulterated insanity at it's finest.
Gintama is the anime that makes fun of every other anime including itself, constantly breaks the fourth wall, and isn't ashamed to pull shameless gags to make the viewers laugh. But it also has the unique trait of being able to seamlessly switch between comedy and action pretty much whenever, so you can have comedy then suddenly everyone's fighting for their lives and it would still feel natural. Not to mention how they've mastered the arts of injecting humor into serious moments, and generating drama through past relationships even without a clear past on the main cast.
