Goated show right here, start to finish. Been missing Gintama like crazy ever since finishing the last movie: this franchise is mindblowing, never ever have I laughed THIS MUCH while watching anime. 😆
Gintama is pretty much 75% comedy and 25% serious, a lot of people hate the first 30 or so episodes cause it's slow but once you get to the good stuff...trust me it'll be one of the greatest experiences you'll ever have Oh and you should react to the openings they're amazing
I don't think it's that it's slow, it's just that the show doesn't incorporate any multi-episode arcs until episode 30. It's all episodic up until that point; still with some continuity, but there are no stories that span over one episode. I don't think it's a coincidence that people who don't enjoy the beginning of the show start to after ep 30ish
Dude, this is a show were the Jump character popularity poll sparked a civil war arc, where characters started assassinating each other to try and reach the No1 rank, forming alliances and trying to bring down others popularity rank with bad behaviour. It does get just _a bit_ more crazy than Jojo ;) .
A few years back I literally stopped watching Gintama because I was closing in on the end and I didn't want it to end lol Now my stupid ass has no idea where I was, but it is a damn good show.

This is the only series that can make you emotional over a sword that lives in a man's "mud cave" or make their character's popularity poll placement a major plot point. *picks nose* And how many other series do you know that has 4 or 5 or 7 series finales? So hyped that you might start this. There's a reason you're my favorite reactor Also One thing you should know is that the first two eps of Gintama are filler so skip them and strat from ep 3 (if you watch it)
This show is wild. It's about 70% episodic comedy, despite having several comedy arcs mixed in, it's really that remaining 30% of the I'll use to sell it, because no lies: Gintama has the some best fight scene choreography in all of anime history. I'd say all of swordfights in anime ever, but that 2nd to last Demonslayer season 2 episode might have swayed me....
Gintama is 80% comedy 20% serious with 360+ episodes & movies. Definitely fun, but episodic & slice of life. It would take hundreds of episodes and a handful of serious arcs before you manage to piece together the "main" overarching plot. There is indeed a serious main plot that has been seeded since S1, but you'd only realize it after rewatching. If you are interested in watching on your own or reacting, expect the focus of Gintama to be on the characters & their chemistry/bond. As you can tell, Gintama has a wide range of repeating characters. Now what happens when they mix with each other, each episode focusing on new combinations of characters that mingle and their relationships? The result is a ton of chaos, fun, sadness, bitterness, and other emotions. Watch it for the journey, not for the end goal... because Gintama doesn't have an end goal lol. No treasure, no dreams, no ambitions - and that's what makes it great hahahaha...

If want watching gintama remember watch the ova because that is canon a love-potion arc and the movie 2 is optional finally watch two special video gintama pre-final movie because the final movie is the final of the anime not the last episode in series that not final episode but the movie is final episode
Men, you didn't see a reference to jojo, don't look elsewhere if they are second to scenes And I don't know if I understood, jujutsu kaisen? in this anime? did not exist yet the only reference to bleach here is when dragonbleachpiece came out, but there are many other references to bleach

It starts slow, but by episode 60 the inside jokes are everywhere and they only add more in as you go, honestly, easily the funniest show I've seen
