Any tricks on mounting the stock seat to the 4 Gallon Tank? I mounted up the tank today getting the front of the seat to line up to the tank mount is not working.
Yes, I ended up putting a small bend in the mounting bracket on the tank where the seat attaches. I couldn't come up with any other way for the slot on the seat to capture the post on the tank.
Thanks - I just figured it out. Took the tank off, put some foam under the seat mounting bracket to bend it out and then lined it all back up, mocked it all up with the tank and seat off the bike to see where things were not lining up. Your extension brackets were right on as now the stock ones are too short, ha! Did you ever finish the bike, would love to see it done. Great videos! @@WeekendAdventureRides
hey! can you tell me the dimensions so I can make it myself, I have the same issue too. I bought this tank and it said it would fit my model year but it didn’t :/
I'm assuming you are talking about the mounting brackets on the front of the tank? if so I put the factory mounts on the IMS tank, lined them up vertically with the mounting points on the frame then measured from the center bolt hole to hole in tank mount. I think mine ended up being about 1 inch longer than stock.
I just got a XR250L I am looking to do alot of the same mods, thanks for all your uploads, I cant wait to see the finished bike!
Hey do you know how u could stop the banjo bolt from leaking in my 95 xr250r? Your videos are 👌
New washers and torqued to spec. They use copper washers to seal
@@WeekendAdventureRides oh okay thanks for the reply
I highly recommend Clarke Racing tanks. Just installed one on my 95 xr250r. Very nicely made. Love your videos. 👍🏻
