Just a theory, but I think Brainiac was able to make this seemingly convenient asspull of a Kryptonite Shielding from the Kryptonite capsule Jimmy dropped. Remember in the previous episode how the camera focused on Brainiac picking up the capsule containing the Kryptonite. AND, notice how the capsule is color white. And so is the Kryptonite Shielding.
I just wish they weren’t rushed with the 22 minute runtime, they could have explained that is how Brainiac made the new Shielding. Even a little line “I didn’t think I’d have to use this so soon…!” while he’s holding the capsule trapping the Kryptonite.
Brainiac’s VA performed like every bill and rent was due the next morning. Exceptional performance.

Clark and Lois' love makes them stronger than Braniac will ever be. But then he wouldn't understand. Because for all his intelligence, when it comes to love, he's an IDIOT. It doesn't even COMPUTE for him. That's a difference between a living being with a heart and soul and a useless machine like him. No machine will ever beat the human heart.

The unapologetic cheesiness is welcome after so many years of stories being afraid of letting Superman be cheesy. But I kind of hope Ma sees Clark's new threads and is immediately like "Where are your shorts? Good thing I made you spares."
On the one hand, I really liked this episode, but on the other, I am disappointed I didn't get to see a real take on "For The Man Who Has Everything" with this version of Superman. This story is a classic for a reason.
That is fair, it is an iconic story. However, the DCAU already adapted that pretty well and this show is more of a loose adaptation so I am ok with this change because it fits the narrative of the series.
@@TheMontyVerse True. It's just that this version of Superman has more visibly struggled with the Kryptonian part of his heritage compared to the DCAU version, so I felt it would've been interesting to see him in that role.
@@jeremyroberts9065 I think that's exactly why they didn't try to adapt that story, For The Man Who Has Everything works so well because it's about Clark getting everything he ever wanted, and rejecting it for the people around him. With this version of Clark, it wouldn't be as emotional since this version of Clark isn't really attached to his Kryptonian side, the closest we see to that is him wanting to not be alone and contacting Kara, but that was more due to humans rejecting him and treating him poorly due to that fact he's an alien.
Honestly Datamon seems more like Lous's potential partner. With the constant need to search for answers or information. And then to fit with the extra power she showed this episode, Raijinmon as the mega.

This was still a bad ass and proved once again that love is more powerful than anything. Clark’s new suit is top tier, and music in this episode was definitely anime inspired for me

Clark knew it was the real Lois when he hear she was on that stupid life-threatening shit.
I have mixed feelings about this episode. Clark seemed too chill when Lois was telling him that all his life at Krypton was a lie (he was in the simulation since he was “a kid”). I also felt the pacing was not very good, too rushed. But overall, I liked the episode, I can’t wait to see the finale!

Gabumon’s a good choice, but Lois could also pair well with Palmon, or maybe Tentomon- she needs that frank, subdued voice of reason.
Clark would benefit from a Gomamon or Terriermon.
Kind of ironic that when Nicky was gonna say her spoiler, the volume got cut; that was funny. But this episode was good but pacing was a bit off for me at times
I think Aguman would be a great partner to Lois.

I will admit that I have mixed feelings for this episode. I think it's a good episode, but its biggest problem is pacing. I think that some plot lines were resolved too quickly. Lois' rescue of Clark from the black mercy I felt was resolved a little too quickly. Lois comes into the simulation with amnesia, and as soon as she touches Clark, her memory comes back. I even think that the way she explained things to Clark was a bit rushed. While there was a good moment where Clark had his doubts about Lois coming for him with Lois proving that she did by explaining how she worked with Livewire to steal a ship, I still think that the issue with the "break up" was resolved too quickly in this episode, even with the great callback to Lois learning that love isn't for cowards. Lois punching the simulation of Jor-El was a surprise, and it was nice to see Superman and Lois break out of the simulation together. I honestly think that the Kara and Jimmy were handled a bit better. Of course, Amanda Waller and Lex Luthor have to mess everything up by capturing Jimmy, the unconscious Lois, and Kara with kryptonite. They were just setting Earth up to be taken over. Fortunately, people have shown that they aren't as bad as Waller and Luthor. Perry and Vicky actually work together against Waller and Luthor, and even Steve Lombard helps to save Kara, Jimmy, and the unconscious Lois. Kara was at a low point for a good portion of the episode because of how she was defeated by Brainiac in the previous episode, but both Jimmy and Steve gave her a good peptalk about how heroes are and that she has a choice in who she wants to be. I like that Kara chose to fight for Earth, not caring what the people think of her. She had been used by Brainiac to destroy worlds, but Kara chose to protect Earth. Kara put up a better fight against Brainiac this time. She definitely did better than Task Force X who easily got beaten. The Metallo robots with kryptonite were definitely a hindrance to both Kara and Brainiac, but Amanda and Lex were just an annoying hindrance to the good guys. Their Metallo robots even got hacked by Brainiac, so with all their talk about protecting the planet, Lex and Amanda only aided in endangering Earth. Brainiac even had kryptonite protection, which isn't entirely a surprise since Jor-El's a.i. knew of kryptonite, not to mention Brainiac probably learned about it from Clark's memories and encountering it personally. So, Lex and Amanda fail predictably against Brainiac, leaving Earth's survival in the hands of 2 kryptonians, Superman and Kara. I like Superman's new suit, but he needs the red trunks back when this is over. Plus, there's still the matter of Kara getting her official Supergirl suit. It was awesome to see Kara protect Metropolis from Brainiac's first blast, and to see Superman protect from the second. I like seeing Clark and Kara working together and their bond growing. They are the last chance for Earth against Brainiac, but thanks to the hacked Metallo robots, the kryptonians and the Earth are in danger being destroyed. I can't wait for the season finale. Hopefully Superman and Supergirl will find a way to stop Brainiac.
Me too. I think the conversation between Lois and Clark should be deeper, like Clark breaking down first expressing his self-doubt for months, then Lois expressing her love towards Clark, that would be much more wholesome
That's fair, but it is still up in the air whether they were actually "broken up". That moment got cut short so we never really saw a healthy resolution. Plus, Clark was never unsure of his feelings, it was Lois who was, and we saw her make the realization's that she was wrong in the past 2 episodes.
@@TheMontyVerse Fair enough, but they both felt like it was a breakup. I do agree that Clark never doubted his own feelings for Lois, but he did doubt how Lois felt about him due to their previous conversation and Brainiac messing with him in the previous episode. I also agree about Lois' own doubts and realizations over the previous episodes.

I just want to hear that sesson 3 has been greenlit because this show os amazing. Between this show, the Superman movie in 2025 and CW's Superman and Lois, Superman is having a renaissance. Zack Snyder almost ruined the character but Superman is too enduring to let one bastardization ruin his whole public image.
