A tip for anyone who wants to bathe their cat: use your hand to cup the water to their fur first, then slowly use a scoop. Don't just put them under the shower head, tap or tub immediately.

Hey guys, noticed this in some of these videos and feel like I should drop this general knowledge here:
It’s okay to give your cat a bath, sometimes they really suck at cleaning themselves. But when you give them a bath, if you can, try to avoid getting their head wet. It can lead to really bad ear infections and more harm than good will be done for your little friend.
How did you know this dude let me guess Wikipedia or did your friend tell you this in the past or did you find it from a post from Facebook

My wife and I bathed our little man the other day. All things considered, he was very well behaved. We weren't rough and tried to keep him calm. He wanted to get out, naturally, but he didn't bite, hiss or scratch. Barely made a sound so we know he wants to kill us in our sleep 😅

I found my previous cat in my garden when he was 2 months old. His tail was broken and he was very skinny. He was a cute little kitten that grew up to despise everyone including me.
I was told that it had to be my fault...and yet after that cat passed away I got a new one, the exact same kind with the only difference being the sex. She is the sweetest sweetheart and I don't treat her in any way different than I did my last cat.

The Germans have got a funny expression for these people: "Putzteufel" - putzen = to clean, Teufel = devil. And I suppose that none of these people ever asked the vet if they are right.

I used to have an orange tabby cat who hated getting wet. His name was Jack. And although he was a lovebug, he hated water. I gave him a bath once, and he was not a happy kitty. Then some time later, my mom and I played with him in a swimming pool in my mother's backyard. After that, the little fuzzball was licking himself for days 😂
Unless there's a very good reason to force the cat into a bath/shower you shouldn't if it is that level of resistance.
They clean themselves you know? and they are good at it.
My cat sucks at cleaning himself, there’s little poopies crusted on his butt and dandruff all through his fur.. I must bathe him at least once or twice a year for that reason not to mention he just a whole mess if I neglect to do this for him.

I had a little ginger tabby kitten many years ago who used to slide into the warm tub water with me at least once every couple of weeks when I was in the bath as I usually took just a shower everyday. It all started when he came looking for me and jumped up onto the side of the tub and and he just fell in..I thought he was going to go nuts like most cats do when dunked in water unexpectedly. Much to my surprise he just climbed onto my chest..so I rinsed him off..then dried him..and this seemed to become a ritual for us. He was a really smart cat when he grew up.

My cat wasn’t allowed in the basement, which I thought I’d made abundantly clear. If the door was open the slighted bit, he’d somehow find a way to get down there. Of course then he’d hide down there all night, and then come up sometime in the morning when he wanted food. He would inevitably end up crawling somewhere really dirty and grimy. And, of course, I had no idea where he had been, and didn’t want him cleaning himself if he was covered in potentially hazardous materials. so when he finally came upstairs, he would pretty much always get a bath. Of course, he acted like it was some sort of unimaginable torture, but that just begs the question, if that happens every time you go in the basement, why do you keep going into the basement? A video I just watched said that cats have pretty poor short-term memories, but they remember trauma and things associated with it. So either he didn’t connect the bathtub with the basement or he was just being really melodramatic when given a bath. But no matter how gentle I was or tried to reassure him, the look on his face during a bath was “I’m going to DIE!!”

If you have to clean (a part) of your cat, do it gently, with a soft brush, when it is calm, not by putting them into a bath with water , which is their greatest fear.

@@angelofdarkness1980 sometimes u have too. Especially when they get into stuff that they REALLY shouldnt be licking off themselves. If that makes sense ^^ i have a cat and i ONLY wash her when i need to (which i only had to like 4 times out of the years of having her) ^^ hope this helps! And of course a way to calm them down is to talk to them nicely the whole time. Eventually theyll understand that everything will be alright

Don't put cats in the bath with the water still running. Better yet, don't bathe your cat unless absolutely necessary.
I think it's necessary only once a month because they can bath themselves but it helps with like fleas and dirt that's trapped in their fur
@@xerosbabyislas4759 Indoor cats don't need to be bathed every month, that is way too often. They actually don't need baths at all unless they have fleas (which indoor cats don't usually get), or have gotten into something toxic or something they can't clean themselves, like lint or oil.
@@8698gil i give my cat a bath every month once a month because he's an indoor and our door kitty, but i don't really need to bathe him not just because he bathes himself but i also brush his fur every time he goes outside because he rolls around in the dirt lol
