- Chester County Transmissions comes up w/ a not so pretty solution, after the unfortunately discovery w/ the rear axle assembly. They team up GRC Blasting Solutions to get things cleaned up to complete the 3.92 gear swap. This just goes to show that not everything goes as expected "rainbows & unicorns" all the time during installations & builds. Very informative and funny. Being a pain in the butt and knowing about the previous axle failure I would have opened and inspect the new one before spending on the cosmetic job. Truck looks great! I enjoyed watching both videos

That rearend housing would've been just fine... Sorry for the dude that had to pay $1500 more ontop of an already crazy bill... ain't no way he was going to send a spanner flying out...
Better light on the camera and more video throughout video, for example the bolt removal on differential and installing the sleeve on the pin for rear differential...

Some info that I was looking for was skipped over. Hoping you can shed some light. So I have the same exact axle. The 9.25zf in a 2017 ram 1500. Im probably gonna use motive gears 3.92 and a Yukon master gear kit. What I am doing right now is getting together the specs. From looking at the manual . Im trying to figure out the measurements for the pinion depth. my manual says the standard pinion depth for these axles are 117.475 millimeters. it says your suppose to subtract the new pinion depth from that number to get what's called a pinion depth variance. which could be anywhere from .005-.040 mm depending on the pinion. then the manual says to use the special dial indicator tool and blocks to get a small measurement of around 1.2-2.9mm after. the instructions suck and don't say if your suppose to take that measurement with the bearing races installed with the shim or not. Its definitely a different style having the shim behind the rear bearing race rather than between the pinion flange and the bearing. so I guess my question is. Do I have to spend the $400 for the tool straight from the dealer or is there a way I can just go off of the pinion depth marked on the new pinion and just use a universal pinion depth measuring tool to figure out what size shims to use. How did you guys figure out the pinion depth? Please let me know. Thanks

hello how are you I wanted to see if you could help me I have a problem with the depth of my differential it is a 9.25 of a dodge ram 1500 2007 2wd and what happens is that I am changing the ratio from 3.55 to 4.56 and the only number it has to guide me It is 162 in the head of the pinion and I have tried several times and the mark does not give me if I bring the backlash too close the gear touches the housing and is scratching it if you could tell me how to figure it out I would greatly appreciate it thanks in advance

Hey guys I have a question for ya. I have a 2017 Ram 1500 5.7hemi. It has a 6” lift,37” tires,I had the 3.92’s put in it. I don’t think the trans is shifting properly. Any way I can tell if it is or not?
The shift points may be off a bit without full tuning.
