@@NathanMannin Well, it's a BMW. It goes sideways. I've never seen myself wanting more power on mine, maybe better brakes but everything else is pretty much on spot. The acceleration, the sound and the handling, for me it has it all
I do like drive mine in with the DSC off. BMW didn't put in a limited slip diff, but instead bodged one with the ABS. With the will fat DSC on it allows a slip of 5%, but with the DTC on it does allow a 10% slip, making it feel more playful in the corners, while never feeling totally out of control
@@scotty6346 Thank you so much for the support! I am very jealous of your E86, I would’ve definitely gotten one had my budget permitted! Always lusted for a Z4M Coupe, but I’ve heard many say the 3.0si Coupe is just as good if not better!
I have the e86 coupe, had it 3 and a half years and still love it. They are awesoe things, plenty quick enough and as its fairly low it gives that sensation of speed. The jerkiness from 1st to 2nd I think is the clutch delay valve - most people remove them, I was going to but havent done so yet. Great video and enjoyed it. I’m planning to go on a European road trip soon and might try vlogging it. I’ve been to the Nurburgring a few times. You should take your Z4 there 😊
@@SeanyAHardy Thank you for watching! Yes please do, it’s great to create memories, especially involving several countries! What car would you be taking? As much as I’d love to experience the Nürburgring, I need to do my first track day on something a little less intimidating 🤣
Great video, I've had my roadster for nearly 7 years. Addressing a couple of your grumbles, the gears from 1st to 2nd is supposed to be fixed by removing the clutch delay valve, it's an easy job and well documented. A short weighted gear shifter is also a huge improvement.
Yeah, your experience with the gearbox and rise are just par for the course. I find with the gearbox is not to try and smash through the gears, a judged deliberate change seemed to be the way to treat them. @@NathanMannin I’ve had two 2.2i’s a 3.0i and now a 2.5i. The reason being is the ride is allot nicer in the 2.5i as they come with SE spec suspension and feels just as quick. It probably won’t be my last Z4 either as I love them so much! Hope you enjoy your 3.0i!
@@tayloryeates9484 Cheers Taylor, I’m loving my 3.0i! I didn’t think about the suspension difference, I do wish it wasn’t so firm sometimes. How does your handling fair without it being so rigid, does it handle worse? I feel like my steering wanders a lot in the Z4, and travels across with imperfections on the road, is that a Z4 thing? Or could a wheel alignment fix that?
The 2.5i handles just as well without the crashy feeling as it sits 10mm higher. You would benefit from a wheel balance and alignment along with a new set of non run flat tyres to help with the tramlining and the ride quality. I got a set of kumho ecsta on mine and transformed the ride.
